GD&T: Parallelism Tolerance Zone

    Wouldn't the size tolerance zone in this example be 0.080" total (+/-0.040")?
    In which case, a parallelism tolerance of 0.040" would still be the tighter controlling tolerance?

      You are correct.

      The part can be plus minus .04 in size which is correct. However the parallelism controls how flat the top surface must be to datum A. Without it one side of the part could be .54 and the other .46 which certainly isn't very flat.

    also its saying hundreds instead of thousandths. this video is going to screw up a lot of people. its a shame too because the illustrations are awesome. Its a +/- tolerance, he is forgetting .040 totals out to .080
