Just a quick video showing the Astel, Stars of Darkness boss fight and location in Elden Ring. Details below.
I was expecting the boss to have some different moves to the Naturalborn version of this boss, but from what I can tell it appears to be the same. It's still an epic looking fight, but it's also significantly easier if you play it passively infront of the boss like I do here, instead of under the boss.
Game progression: I'll be progressing through the game naturally, trying to find all the side-dungeons and bosses along the way, and post them as I go. I won't be farming for levels or materials, but at the same time I won't be actively avoiding them to keep under level either. There may be some bosses I miss along the way and come back to later, or naturally I might end up stronger for some fights compared to others as I progress. I'll be uploading all bosses, so some will obviously be a lot easier than others. The strategies I show will work regardless of level or upgrades though, as shown by all the previous FromSoftware boss fights uploaded on the channel. Feel free to check those out too! By this stage, I did end up actively avoiding leveling up for around 60 bosses in total, and I haven't farmed anything in between.
Repeat bosses: There's quite a few repeat bosses in different zones that are essentially the same fight, but I'll still be uploading each individual one to show the location of them. As I'll eventually have a no damage all bosses compilation, I want to include every single one, even if they are repeats. It does mean some will appear multiple times without significant differences to them, but I'd rather just have each of them individually on the channel to show the locations, rather than pick or choose a single one to upload and skip the rest.

I respect that you got him to 2hp and instead of just throwing something at him to finish him off, you dodged another 6 attacks and slapped him in the face up close and personal for the finisher.

Watched your gameplay video for him just now and I used your calm and patient style of playing. Immediately beat him right after. Had a harder time on him than I did naturalborn for some reason
Amazing how the RNG really helped him in this run.
For people with problems with the grab attack: If you keep jumping after he teleport, the grab becomes just a punch.

A bit disappointing that he is almost identical to the Naturalborn of the Void, but the grab is so cool.
Fallingstar Beast Jaw does wonders with this boss. Just get under him and start pressing L2. If he doesn't get you first, you should kill him in within a couple of minutes.
Doing my first play through and it’s kinda been a breeze up until crumbling farum… i’ve struggled with ancient dragon and astel darkness probly a few more. Studying your videos with no damage taken is so clean when it comes to learning the boss mechanics…. so far has helped me over my hurdles when attempting to not use summons… just wanted to say thank you, Mr. GOAT.
Edit: been a breeze because I’ve cheesed with rune farming. But the end game clearly gives no fucks about your level…
Basically a reused fight but I was happy for the chance to fight Astel again. GG!

Right especially at the end where Astel had like 1hp, I would have totally got greedy and bumrushed it lmao
You played nice and patiently. But got lucky on the grabs and the lack of his "clone move". No way you can pull this run of every time. You need luck in his moves. But, like all the others said, Very well played.
I keep dying to the grab attack it really seems imposible

HOW did you avoid 90% of the phase-duplication-shadow attacks? THIS is a lot more Akin to the Astel of the Void fight...

It is bcuz how you keep that conservative distance he doesn’t attack ignorantly ???? The multi doppelgänger grab that seems unavoidable,even the regular grabs I can never dodge even tho it looked damn good ..smh
