It was the end of an era, right around the time many skateboard companies went bankrupt, many skaters lost their sponsors while Vert and Freestyle died off for a while.
Skating changes and he couldn't keep up (watch him try to street skate in that one clip he throws his board in anger, he could barely Ollie). A lot of the vert dudes careers died seemingly overnight.
