Thank you for proving that American Ingenuity is still Alive and Well! The indicator rod on my new JD 5090 EL is about worthless and the first time I used the bucket it fell off. Then the bracket got damaged and I was able to put it back together so the bracket would not flop around.Wound up using a magic marker to put a line on the rod to give me an idea as to when bucket is level on the ground. What you designed is likely the best of its kind anywhere.
Does your level indicator show up different off the ground level, like using bucket forks for level picking as apposed to on the ground. Great job by the way. 👍
No, the indicator doesn't move but the bucket is only level at the ground. Unless you have a self leveling loader, the bucket angle changes as you lift the loader arms even though the bucket itself doesn't move.
@@markellyfarm I see some people bend the rod at the top to match the angle of the bucket. I wonder if there's a way to make your slick design do this too, bend a rod sticking out of the tube further as to never retract beyond the bend when fully tilted? 🤔
The bent rod doesn't always match the bucket angle. The factory indicator has a bent rod. When the corner of the bend is on the post, the bucket is level with the ground with the loader all the way down. The angle of the bend doesn't change when you lift the loader or curl the bucket.
@@markellyfarm I got my John Deere 1025R back in summer of 2017 with the F.I.L.B. package that also came with a 54" mower deck. It came with the bucket level indicator. I just hit the 902 hours spot on it today
Thank you sir! I appreciate your sharing that with us. That'll work just fine and I can build it myself.
It works great! I use it constantly!

Your brackets could probably be used for the upgrade. Thanks for watching and the kind words. It works well and I use it constantly.
I like your design. Been watching a few videos on the subject and will probably go with your set up! Thanks for sharing.
It's the absolute best. Use it constantly! Thanks for watching!
Nice job. I am a bit late to the party, but here non the less.
Hey, thanks! Invaluable tool! I use it constantly.
Having coffee always makes it a good one!
For sure!
Great job on this video, amigo. Well done and informative. And VERY useful. Thank you for taking the time to do it.
You are very welcome! It works great!
Real nice job. Thanks
Thank you Scott. Works great.

@@markellyfarm wishfull thinking, or me over thinking. 👍
Nice job. Did you take it back off and paint JD green?
Sure did!
What happened to the original level indicator that came with the loader to begine with???
Never had one. Nothing comes standard anymore. Everything is an option that costs more. My tractor doesn't even have rear remotes!
Yep. Just got a 1025r. The tractor and loader come together. Everything else is an option. I had a belly mower added.
Very popular little tractor. Do you follow Tractor Time with Tim or Good Works Tractor? They feature them often. Tim even added a turbo to one of his.

@@markellyfarm Yes, both are nice channels to follow. TTWT was the inspiration for me purchasing my tractor!
👍👍👍Thank you
Works great! Love mine. Thanks for watching Pete.
That’s a great idea! Thanks.
You are welcome. Loving mine!
Looks great thanks
Works excellent
@@markellyfarm I am going to do that to my wife's yammer tractor
@@markmeyer5618 excellent!
Good video, I need to make me one
Love ours!
Similar to my works John Deere 4600 with 460 loader bucket level indicator.
Im loving it!
Just fyi your front axle on your tractor does not have a vent . If you don't get the vent plug it will eventually ruin your front seals. Just fyi
Is it missing or doesn't come stock? I will take a look. Thanks for the info.

Mine just doesn't have one so I had to buy the dipstick vent for it
