Oh yeah it's a next day follow up to the X-Men Animated Series (1992 - 1997) set a year after Graduation Day the final episode of the series. X-Men 97 is an improvement in every aspect from being more mature thanks to lack of censorship to being able to pull from a wider range of X-men stories that released during the 2000s and beyond and of course higher budget etc.
