Good question. When tiles are laid unscientifically, leakage occurs below the RCC slab due to water getting trapped below the tiles. This causes many serious consequences such as RCC spalling etc. In such a situation, what conventionally people do are to remove the tiles and re do the entire process which will again cause the same issues in some time and it is also a cumbersome process. The tiles have anyway reached the end of its service life as the owner was planning to remove them due to leaks. In the featured video, the leaky tiles aren't removed; but given a strong Waterproofing coating which will extent its life without much hardwork. Hope this answers.
