So yeah, my original thought was that she was warning this guy that even if he kept the rose in the cage, it's in the nature of the rose to be thorny. So if you handle it carelessly, you'll get hurt, not because you're you but because a rose is a rose. It's not you, it's me. 😂 Because of her BPD she always plays with the other self (Tail, Siren, Stranger...) She also plays with the "pretty flower" imagery in Gashina. I did originally think that Siren was mermaid, but in the dangerous sense you know? Like the one that lures sailors to their deaths. But I think she wanted to use the double meaning of Siren = warning signal. So anyway, thanks for reacting, and yes, this is her usual sound. Sometimes it gets more ballad-like, like 1/6, sometimes more mature, like Black Pearl, and sometimes more clubbish, like Heroine.

In my opinion the mv starts with Sunmi calm at home, when she suddenly sneezes. That, in my country, means that someone is talking about you. The people talking about her are probably her fans and haters who talk and create many different versions of sunmi, based on what they hear or assume about her. Then those non-existent versions of herself torment her even in her daily life.
It's just my theory, it's not absolute hihi

u need the watch the trilogy to understand the mv (gashina, siren & heroine) and the lyrics are not really related to the mv in this case. Since sunmi writes most of her songs, siren's lyrics are about her being afraid of hurting the other person (she has bdp thats why). I really recommend you checking her song "borderline", its in english and its so personal to her

I thought Siren was a pretty clear-cut song and MV... 😅 There's Blue Sunmi who is being chased by Bathtub-Sunmi in order to make her realize that her different identities are sometimes mean and hurtful, sometimes beautiful and seductive but they are always her, and in her relationships she is the Siren, a walking red flag (seduction for roses and warning tape for the messiness). The three room-Sunmis are her different Siren-selves: Washing machine Sunmi is beautiful but alien in her scales, Clam-Sunmi look normal but is literally on a throne to be worshipped and Brown Sunmi is the tiara-wearing mottled predatory bird from Ancient Greek myths who sings sailors to their doom and eats them alive (thus also birdcages).
The song is appropriately warning a guy to get away from her before she hurts him. The lyrics had a bit of a bad translation; the "in your fantasies I'm not beautiful" should be "the beautiful me of your fantasies doesn't exist".
