    • @alex99x99x
      @alex99x99x Год назад +121

      Yeah like everyone else says. It’s kind of close to false advertising.
      The tactile bump is basically non existent , it’s still technically there, but the only way you’ll feel anything is if you type at 5wpm, type any faster and it basically becomes a linear switch.
      That’s the main reason why it gets memed on so much, it’s also extremely scratchy stock. Honestly if you look at it like it’s a linear and mod it, it’s generally not that bad, but it still doesn’t compare to a red linear.
      Imagine being new to keyboards and you want to know how a tactile switch feels like, you get a keyboard with brown switches, and next thing you know, you are greatly disappointed

      YES THIS. And because RSI from work typing, too. You have to type all day, a better keyboard you actually enjoy typing on as your daily driver is so important. And, I want to shrink the physical size of a 96 to 100 % keyboard to 10 to 12" wide WITHOUT losing my keys! Smaller reduces RSI, especially if you've got small hands.

      I use a 65% at work and have for years. My job is primarily writing and editing, not spreadsheets and such. But either way, I got used to using the above alpha row of numbers and I'm pretty quick with them. Model M master race, kudos. Also, numpad is great for games, too (aircraft/seacraft/utility vehicles control, console emulators, setting macros, rhythm/skating/parkour games, etc.). It's not just for work. I simply cannot imagine myself using a c*strated kb for any purpose whatsoever. I unironically use my num pad keybonds quite often on certain games, as well as the function keys and other %100 exclusive keys. I just dont get why someone would ever choose to get a smaller keyboard, especially something like a %60.

      I use a 30-key keyboard, and my reasoning is that everything can be accessed without moving your hands, or extending your fingers more than one row from home.
      There is no reduction in speed, and the benefits in comfort and efficiency are literally insane. Sure, you could keep these dedicated keys and never use them, but that seems redundant, and the board looks really pretty when it's this tiny!
