    Fun fact about the Cerberus shuttle, there’s a quest on Kadara about some Cerberus holdouts. Basically they want to hack Sam because of how project overlord ended, but if you want to know details go and play the quest. It starts on the citadel thing, just look for a broken avina, you can’t miss it

      I think you're mixing two separate missions up. There's "The Firefighters" mission, which deals with a little bit of Project Overlord's fallout. And another one wholly on Kadara, "Mind Games", that has two former members of Cerberus experimenting on an asari, krogan, and a salerian.

      What did you like about it? For me I didn't like any of the crew and the story was so lackluster. Adding really only one new species (Which was only to be a damsel in distress) and not being a pathfinder, because you go down to established settlements all the time. (Krogan, Angara, Exile). I'm not even gonna touch the animations/bugs. The core of the game felt like they were too scared to take risks and just made a indie version of the trilogy haha.

      All you mentioned is gameplay, something that never was the focus of Mass Effect franchise, yes Andromeda is a technical marvel, but lacks the soul of ME franchise, even ME3 isn't a completely trainwreck in this regard, only the ending is.
      Andromeda leaves a bad taste on your mouth, it is great in technical terms, but pointless in what trully matters in a ME game, and no I'm not complaining about the premise, the premise is actually good, but all the rest is crap.

      I both agree and disagree. I enjoyed ME:A, but I could only play through it twice before I got very sick of it. I found it boring, the characters, especially Ryder, had no personality. I found him/her to be very bland. The same reactions to everything. The storyline was brilliant I thought, but they could have done so much more with it… the supporting characters (especially Liam) I found to be very standard and underwhelming. The customisation, exploration, the idea of the jumpjets and the Sam scanner and all I thought were really cool, and I enjoyed playing it ultimately, i just think it was the characters that ruined it for me… I didn’t find it as good as the original trilogy.

      @@roguerifter9724 buddy, the problem is that gameplay doesn't have MEANINGFUL REWARDS, you know what meaningful rewards are? No, they aren't armor or weapons, it is the story, no problem for folks who like play games just for the adrenaline, but if i want to play games for the adrenaline, i would play Fortnite, not MASS EFFECT, thats not WHY i would pay for a Mass Effect game, theres far better games in terms of gameplay than Andromeda, and if i want to play a game with adrenaline pumping gameplay, i would buy CoD, not Mass Effect!
      You know, the first games have a shit gameplay, seriously crappy, in fact from all the original trilogy, the crappiest gameplay is from ME 2, but guess what game is consider the best from the trilogy? YES it IS ME2!
      Do i said that Mass Effect should have crappy gameplay? No, but not at the cost of the STORY!
      Andromeda is an abomination is ME in name only, it takes all the lore all the world building an throw in a sinkwhole that is Andromeda? Did you relize that ALL star systens in ME trilogy are actually real? You can find every single star in the game in the night sky?
      Everything in Andromeda is all made up, theres nothing relatable in that galaxy aside from the galaxy itself...
      Also, what about the lore and world building that ME is so famous for?
      Vast majority of the lore is the same from the previous games, in wich each entry Bioware actually take their time to UPDATE the whole codex qith the lore from the previous games, in Andromeda? The little lore we have is a bunch of bs, it isn't worth reading all that crap, theres no depth to it, and variety? We have only tree races in Andromeda, wich were actually one and the same!
      And my god, they suck... the villains can't be more cliche even if you try hard to make cliche villains, and the friendly race couldn't be more boring and cliche to!
      Seriously, if you want defend the gameplay of Andromeda, fine by me, but don't pretend that this is what actually makes a great Mass Effect game, because the numbers speak for themselves...

    • @roguerifter9724

      By that logic tons of video games considered great are actually horrible. Pretty much every beat'em up, fighting game, platformer, run and gun game, and many other genres usually have poor stories, and often little or no characterizations so why are they not considered awful while Andromeda gets bashed to hell and back because its story and characters aren't as good as earlier games in the series?
      Hell most genres I only seriously consider the story theme, and characters if I'm debating between buying two games in the genre and the prices are similar.

    Andromeda is a good game. Has some really great mechanics such as the movement options in the gun fights and not locked into one class. The characters aren't bad either, not as flushed out as I would like but they aren't terrible or too annoying. Even the story isn't bad. It gets a lot of flack for being too different but it is supposed to be. The ME Trilogy is a war game where Andromeda is supposed to be a exploration game. If they leaned more toward exploration and discovery, scaled down the world size (outside of the jungle planet it was perfect) so they weren't as large, and added more hands on planet development it would be a great game. Some of the mission designs should be changed but with a smaller world map most of them would fix themselves. Sorry for the rant.

      Gameplay is a bit hit or miss for me, love the mobility but getting only 3 powers per build is kinda meh and we cannot control teammate power usage which is dumb as hell. Also guns felt a lot weaker than the trilogy, they also sound like airsoft guns compared to the glorious sounds in ME3 and overall enemies were huge damage sponges.
      Also the fact that you can acces all powers in the game no matter what class you start as completely kills replayability imo, at least it makes it more bearable to pIaythrough I suppose.
      I honestly really like Ryder, he's just a fairly normal dude compared to Shepard who can be a Mary Sue who's approaching to godhood, getting rid of the Paragon/Renegade aka Good or Bad semi-metagaming was a great move though and they better not bring that shit back.
      Is is sad that EA pulled the plug on the game but we can at least hope it will be somewhat connected to the new game and not just abandoned.

    the reason for so many shuttles having the colours of that rather bad group is explained in a few codex entries and by finding all the memory fragments its explained that over half of the ships they took with them were brought from that company on the cheap and this also ties back to a codex that is missable in the other mass effect games All 3 that that company had ties to a legit company working on a plan to expand the reach of humans to other galaxies but lost contact with their imbedded people a yr into the mission

    OK so I ONLY want you to read this if you want MAJOR spoilers on the possible identity of The Benefactor:
    There is one person I can tell who fits the bill for everything occurring here, and I think maybe we all missed it. There is a good reason everybody suspects The Illusive Man & Cerberus. The Benefactor is the one singular person in the Mass Effect universe with access to both the finances of the big money player behind Cerberus's giant money hole AND the inner workings of the Cerberus operation it appears. They also know Shephard and believe his accusations fully about the coming of the Reapers.
    While the Illusive Man is a good guess, I think the Benefactor is actually Miranda Lawson. She has a scene where it SEEMS like she may have died, but if you look at it again, it really doesn't make sense that she would have DIED there. More importantly, Shephard's last words to her were "Come on Miranda, let's get you out of here." It may mean so she can get a proper burial, but it may also be she is still ALIVE. The scene simply fades to black.
    It wouldn't be stretch to say IF Miranda is still alive that SHE is the Benefactor, if she managed to later get control of both Cerberus AND Henry Lawson's fortune and used them to start the Initiative. The fourth memory where you finally hear the conversation between Alex Ryder and The Benefactor DEFINITELY sounds like it could be Miranda and she knows exactly how Cerberus operates. The whole Initiative was definitely a Cerberus OP, it has their fingerprints all over it. Cerberus loves exploiting desperate people in need of a chance and that's exactly what Alex Ryder was.
    But everybody thinks she is dead. This is why it feels like the Illusive Man but doesn't quite make sense, yet has Cerberus all over it. Miranda is definitely one to have this kinda backup plan and this much belief in Shephard to make all this happen.

      A few rebuttals:
      1. The developers themselves said that Cerberus has nothing to do with the Andromeda Initiative;
      2. Benefactor began sponsoring the Initiative before the events of ME1, before Shepard learned about the Reapers;
      3. Well, as they said above, the Arks flew to Andromeda before the events of ME3

    Nailing my colours to the mast I love Andromeda I see alot of people comparing it to the original trilogy which I feel is unfair as I believe it should only be compared to the original as it's what was the 1st game in what was supposed to be a new trilogy, and I think in many ways it supassed the original ME certainly its gameplay and customisation options were far supperior and I think it did a good job setting up a new enemy, I've also seen many people complain that you can't explore the whole Galaxy which I personally think is a good thing as 1. They don't have anything like the mass relays 2. the first thing they would want to do is familiarise themselves with local space and any local specieswhilst also finding the other arcs and trying to learn more about the scourge which tself would hinder Galactic travel so only having a relativly small area to explore makes perfect sense at least to me and as it is a relatively small area it also makes sense that there would only be one native species however there is one complaint, I see that I do have to agree with and thats the characters are just not as well written as the originals, sadly we are unlikely to see this story playout where the mysteries that are started in this game are solved and expanding the explorable area of the Andromeda galaxy and meeting more new species and hopefully getting the writing and portrayal of the characters down as even ME1 didn't get its characters perfect right out the gate but got them pinned down in ME2

    if Bioware will be true to their words that Andromeda will be part of the next Mass Effect game, I hope the Benefactor will be the link between the original trilogy and Andromeda. This was one of the missions that I enjoyed uncovering. I have a feeling that the Benefactor is linked with the original Shadow Broker, when Alec is communicating with them it is the same with the shadow broker's.

    I get why people would have preferred to play as Shepard but it felt like that story had run its course and this was an elegant solution to avoid having to choose a "canon" ending to the trilogy. Though, it looks like they're going to be going that route in the next game anyway.

    If I do remember correctly Kora the human asari huntress is the daughter to the illusive man she mentions it if you choose to romance her I believe( my whole reason aside from getting the achievement)

    I've always thought the Benefactor was another Cerberus Cell. Someone who was in the same position as the Illusive Man, but worked separately from him. Saw what was coming and decided to fund a way out while also seeing it as a way to spread Cerberus influence to another galaxy. Killing Gene Garson who was probably the only one who knew who they were. But also, I feel like I may be giving too much credit to the writers who seemed to have little to no passion on Mass Effect Andromeda. Still, the initiative sounds like an idea Cerberus would jump on, being far, far away from the laws and territories of the other races who would want to stop them from doing what they do.

      The Initiative was originally a human project. But Benefactor insisted that alien races be added to the Initiative.

    ME:Andromeda, for all of it's flaws, it *tries*. It may not nearly compare to its predecessors, some may even argue it's not worth of the name, but it's got a charm of it's own. I've done three playthroughs and what little updates Bioware did to fix the game did in fact make it a better experience, but it will always be saddening that they gave up entirely. The Quarian Arc DLC was left to a book, there won't be a sequel. Don't hate the game, feel bad for what happened to it.
