    I don't understand why people hate the London casting. Just because we're not American doesn't mean we can't peform it. It's not our fault we live where we do. We can't exactly fly all the way over to America to watch a 2 and a half hour show to fly back. Think about what you say before you go sharing your unvalid opinion on the internet.

      I personally believe West End’s casts for Wicked are better than those on Broadway, all the companies have very talented people, but for some reason I prefer the way that London casts deliver their performance. But again is for the particular case of this musical. My favorite Elphabas.

      Hollie, By birth, I'm an American. By spirit, I'm an Anglophile and Latter Day Francophile. I was fortunate enough to spend 5 years living on your side of the pond. For sure, I think Broadway is grand. To say Broadway is better than West End is ignorance! The West End is brilliant. (Does anyone actually say 'bloody bril'?) I use 'brilliant' the way you Brits use it when referring to the arts. Here in the States, the word only refers to the quality of diamonds and Einstein. Though I'm not a Brit, I'd be chuffed to think of myself as one. Forget the hateful, hurtful comments of ignorant Americans. You've got West End and we don't!

    Gina is amazing, don't get em wrong and she gets along great with Rachel, they are absolutely amazing both of them. The only thing is that, when they sing together, like the songs For Good or Defying Gravity, their voices don't sound as nice together as Louise's and Rachel's. It's hard to explain, but I feel like they just don't work. It might only be me though!

  • @ashleyjakekirk
    @ashleyjakekirk 11 лет назад +1

    Yes it does make sense. Just because it was written in America it doesn't mean that it sounds better in a American accent. I think characters such as Fiyero and Glinda sound better with a British accent because their annunciation and diction is better (due to them being from a higher class background) and the stereotypical British accent is very posh. In general the diction is better with the british actors, they pronounce the words in the songs better.
