Yes our local tour company set it up so it was included in our total package price. Ours was a conducted tour that picked us up, drove us across desert sand dunes up to the crater, and included food at the end. It took about 3 hours to drive there from Ashgabat and then maybe 2-3 hours exploring/eating 👌🏻
That big dog might have been an Alibai. They are from Central Asia. There is a statue of one in Ashgabat. The President of Turkmenistan gave Putin an Alibai puppy as a present!
