- Leonidas Kanaris - Cinematic Suite for cello and piano
Christophor Miroshnikov, cello
Natalia Miroshnikova, piano
The Cinematic Suite for cello and piano, Op. 77 was written by Greek composer Leonidas Kanaris in 2020. It was based on his work "The Kiss" Cinematic Suite for voice, violin, viola, cello and piano/organ/harpsichord, which was written a few years earlier as an alternative music soundtrack for the 1929 film "The Kiss" directed by Jacques Feyder, starring Greta Garbo, Lew Ayres, and Conrad Nagel.
Due to the COVID restrictions, the premiere of the Cinematic Suite for cello and piano finally took place in Athens on January 31, 2022 and was recorded in the summer of that year. On both occasions it was performed by Christophor Miroshnikov and Natalia Miroshnikova.
