I'm really grateful for all of the detailed reviews, and stress-testing, you've done regarding the 9125 over the past couple years! I've been in the market for an inexpensive but capable RC basher with readily available replacement parts to use for fun and as a GoPro platform for shooting B-roll for my RUclips channel, and your videos have helped give me confidence to buy the 9125.
Thanks very much for watching all the videos, and the great comment, appreciate it 👍🍻
@@PERTHWESTOZRC -- You're welcome! I would never have thought this truck could handle 5S. Seems the dual side-by-side motors are actually decent quality and aren't just a gimmick on this truck.
The smaller tires impact your final drive ratio a great deal. I put buggy tires and wheels on my Foxx 911s to attempt to make it controllable and lost several kmph.. On the up side, it's controllable now.
I guess it's because of small wheels that you are using. But if you use the original wheels it will run crazy Fast! :)
Yes after this run i thought about the size of the wheels, this was just a first try to see if it can handle 5S, Now i plan to try i slightly different setup next time! cheers for watching 👍🍻
Cool dude I never expected to see 5S run on these kind of rigs!
Either did I tbh but decided to give it a shot 😁
I'm shocked it could handle 5s but looks like it is maxed out so 4s looks best. You are the king of the speed tests David!
Thanks for watching Ryan, ive fitted larger wheels and tyres to it now, those ones on this test were too small i think
Now that was an awesome and definitely had me Intrigued on this one brother. That’s a risky but cool try on that one.
Cheers brother, I always like to push these cheaper RC's to the limit and see what they can do and share! 😎👍🍻 Cheers for watching as always bro!
Good to know it can handle 5S without the magic smoke . I'm running 3S with 1/10 Slash wheels & tyres which seems a great combo speed and handling wise. KUTGW 🇦🇺😎
Yeah 3s is perfect to run on this truck but I always like to see what they can handle lol cheers for watching mate! 👍🍻
I'm glad someone mentioned those baby wheels! You gotta make another video with the stock wheels!
i did ages ago after this video
Sounds like it’s going faster. Great video Dave
Cheers 🍻
Cheers Dan but even though those 390 motors are screamin' in actual fact the truck is slower than it is on 3 & 4S, but i have something I am gonna try, (quick mod) to see if i can rectify that! 👍🍻
Awesome 😎
@@Van_City on this 5s test it definitely has more torque than 2/3/4s though! that was noticable. The esc must have an over voltage and over heating protection system that is holding the power back!
Wow it looks cool love this truck and It’s lovely to be here. You may also join me in my travels in fact we were supposed to be in the US this March 21 but we have to cancel due to corona. See you!
Thanks for watching :)
It is possibly the improved torque is due to the fact that you have a battery pack upfront which prevents the truck from losing forward motion torque to wheel/front end pop up. Also the heavier batteries put more weight on all four wheels so they don’t spin. The smaller diameter wheels help with this as well (but as mentioned by others is cutting into the top end speed).
Good job Dave, I wonder why it seem to move faster with the shell off than on.
It has great torque on 5s however The wheels I chose are too small in this test run, i have changed them over now to larger tyres for top speed
Nice ripper Dave. 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Ray for always tuning in brother 👍🍻
How did you remove the ESC cover? Does it increase cooling? Maybe it would be an idea to put a fan on top?
Enjoyed ,nice test👍🏻
Cheers Cam more test runs on 5S to come soon mate 👍🍻
Hahahaha you mad man I love it 😍😍😍😍5s ffs bahahaha quality bro 🔥🔥🔥
Cheers mate haha you know me..always like to max the crap out of these cheap trucks😆 I've changed the wheels over to larger ones as it was topping out so soon on the small wheels, cheers for watching bud👍
@@PERTHWESTOZRC quality bro haha and why not? We are always sticking 6s in our planes man just to see what happens 😂😂😂🔥 gotta keep on pushing bro. Hope ya safe and well in these crazy days 🙏🙏🙏👊
@@propgear123 yeah if you don't try you won't know, cheers mate, all is well here so far anyways, just gotta be cautious hey! Stay safe brother 👍
You defeted the up in voltage by decreasing the wheel size? Try strapping the original or put some other tires bigger than original. See if that does anything! Do like those esc's though, had to buy a 9125! ✌
Yep wheel choice was too small, had bigger ones but they ballooned too much so threw these buggy wheels on for this test run just to see if it can handle 5s. I'm planning to try wheels off another monster truck later on, cheers for watching bro 👍
Love that you read & respond to your subscribers! Rite on!
@@stevenpowers9761 yeah I always try to mate, you took time to watch and comment so I do the same 👍 have a good weekend bro
Woooooo that's awesome toys
Thanks for watching
Wow the wide axle one is a ripper !! So agile !!
Thanks for watching David
@@PERTHWESTOZRC take care Mate...things will get better
Nice just brought my 9125 out from the closet needed a new diff but it's still running great, I would like to upgrade mine like yours! Do you still have it, how's it holding up?
yeah i have had this truck for years and it's still going, i converted it to brushless then gave it to my brother, check out my brushless conversion video if you want, its in my Xinlehong playlist
Cool test video
Cheers for watching mate
I know it's an old video but maybe try 6s? Seeing as each motor only sees half of that it's not too crazy i would think.
Nah the motors finally burnt out on 5s and running 4s multiple times, converted this truck to brushless ages ago and gave it to my brother
it's cool and cool .. I'll try later ...😎😎 like it brother..😎😎👍😊
Thanks very much bro...feel free to subscribe for more rc videos 👍🍻
It certainly sounds cool!
Yeah i agree, those 390 motors scream. Thanks for watching Stephen
It’s geared for the taller tires. Having the short tires increases wheel speed, but decreases top speed of the vehicle
Yeah I know, back when I made this video it was spur of the moment and I couldn’t be stuffed changing the wheels over, I done a follow up video shortly after I’m taller tyres and it didn’t do much in the way of faster speeds, the old 390 motors were burning out from all the 3s and occasional 4s runs I gave it 😂
Looking to get a bit of speed and longer run times. Can I run 11 volt LiPo safely for a long time ?
Yes this trucks 60amp ESC can run 3s all day long no issues, thanks for watching Brett
try using an additional gyro part, so it doesn't shake
I don't have this truck anymore bro, old video 😂
what kind of gear are you using?
My 9125 -> ruclips.net/video/2nzi8CAjvEs/видео.html
(+2Cooling fans for Esc&Motor on 3S)
Sheeeeeeesh!
Do another run on 5s with stock tires mate. I want to see 9125 flying 😂
I already done a follow up video, go watch my full Xinlehong playlist you'll find it there, plus its in pieces now mate, moved on from this truck...
BTW stock tyres are absolute sh!t they don't grip well once you try 3s
you have problems with the diff cups braking.? my Gf has this Truck and they Brake all the time almost every time she drives it..
No I've had this truck about 2 and a half years now and bashed the crap out of it as well as speed runs and had no issues so far... The diff cups have opened up and worn out a bit though in that time...cheers for watching mate👍🍻
I did this on 3,s and shot the differential first time, are you running metal diffs? How did this car hold up long term? should I get my money back?
i never had issues with the stock metal diffs failing in the 3 years or more i had this truck, but i did pack em full of grease myself and cleaned out the old grease every so often when i had it
Nice
Cheers for watching Rich
Small tires equal less top end but faster acceleration.
Yes that's right, I revisited this 5a speed run with larger wheels and it didn't really improve the speed that much, ended up burning the motors in the end 😂
@@PERTHWESTOZRC honestly these Chinese cars are junk the brass pinion and aluminum alloy spur gear always tear themselves apart that's the problem I have and I stopped running 3s and still had the problem on 2s and I have a 9125 a q901 and A q903 and they've all at some point had a problem with the gears
I have the same truck, with all the original parts but the shock absorbers, I would like to put a 4000mah battery, do you think it will support it? and if it does, would it be a 20c or 40c?
Yes you can put a big lipo in it, thanks for watching..subscribe for more rc videos
@@PERTHWESTOZRC thank you, and what about the discharge, what do you recomend, 20c or 40c? because i don't want over load the motor!
what is the difference with the outside diameter of the original tyres to the ones you used in this test. I'm suspecting the replacements are smaller which would then affect the overall speed. at the very least if they were the same a ballooning tyre increases in diameter which would result in higher speed runs.
Yes these wheels I just put on to experiment if this truck would handle 5s.. Top speed suffered as a result. I later followed it up with another speed test on larger wheels and tyres which improved the overall maximum speed. Thanks for watching 👍
Can tell me what wheels and tires you are using. also the shocks
Just using some buggy wheel.I had laying around, link to the exact oil shocks is in my Xinlehong 9125 shock upgrade video, you can check that out and ally Xinlehong truck videos in my playlist section, thanks for watching
very gd to know
Don't do it
@@PERTHWESTOZRC the 3s would be more than enough for me mate hahahaha
So is s3 more than safe? What c rating would you recommend
Yeah just use 3s 1500mah lipo, this was just an experiment so I don't recommend going 5s
C rating I used 45C 3S batteries
Do you think it could run 2 brushless motors
Possibly a couple small 2845 sized ones but would need to try run off either 2 escs or 1 high amp ESC and change the servo to a 3pin as well
it's kind of slow to be a 5s
which brushless motor did you put in the cart?
It ran slow cause I used tiny wheels and it's not brushless...still running the stock 390 motors, thanks for watching
@@PERTHWESTOZRC Ok, I got it
Try it with the other tires them are small tires
Old video mate, I did try it soon after with larger tyres didn’t make much difference in top speed over 4s
Do you think this could run on 4s without any problems?
already have many times, check out my other videos 👍
@@PERTHWESTOZRC does it overheat at all?
@@mushyzachman7731 I think it would depend how you drive it. I doubt it would handle hard off road use on 4s for long periods. You might have more luck with 3s.
The leaves almost sound like car has a turbo
Thanks for watching
Tire size
They're off a 12th scale Xinlehong buggy, model 9117
All about tire size!
Yep I know... Tried it again and got a little more out of it but 5s is not recommended, motors burned out soon after, but it was just to fool around and experiment with 😂
What do I got to upgrade on this for 3s battery and is it safe
No need to upgrade anything Roy, it has a 60amp ESC and can handle 3s easy, cheers for watching 👍
@@PERTHWESTOZRC k bro thanks where can I find the battery for it at and do i got to put connectors on it to fit
