Thank you, Julianna and Roland, for taking me on your epic adventure. I have loved every episode. As Julianna said, you should both be very proud and probably so much more!
It was such a joy watching you every week. It's amazing that in a binary moment it comes to an end. But the memories remain for a lifetime. Thank you for a beautiful presentation of your cross country trip.
You're right, Jeff, life can change on a dime. It was maybe even more so at the beginning of the ride, when all of a sudden you look ahead and this is your life for the next few months. Thanks so much for joining us!
Thank you so much for all the work you and Julianna put in making all these videos of your journey. Great job filming and editing. You're so lucky to have such a great "ride or die" partner to share all the high and lows. Rest up because I'm sure you're already planning your next trip.🚴♀🚴♀♥
Thank you Frank. We've actually already finished a big ride around France, and hope to begin releasing that later this year. I'm so grateful for Julianna, every day!
I can't believe it is over. Congratulations. You have given us so much - love, hope, ideas, incentive and all with such rich language and insight. You have shown us how to grow, how to deal with adversity how to find joy in every day. I am sure there were lots of tough spots but you showed us all a way through. Now - what am I to look forward to on Friday afternoons? Thank you both so much.
Thank you Bonepicker, for following us along our adventure. Hearing from you week after week is what makes this all worth it. Keep watching for videos on Friday, we have a couple follow-up videos and will begin publishing our trip around France later in the year. Until then, happy trails!
WOW what a excellent video series thanks for taking us along on your Journey it was awesome! You both are tough cookies we so enjoyed watching it!!!👍💓😁🚴😎
What poetry you have brought to our world. Such inspiration and positivity was shared. Thank you doesn’t seem enough. May you forever be changed by this journey. I have.
I really enjoyed "riding" with you guys across the country. Thanks for recording it and going through the effort to edit it for our viewing pleasure. You are an inspiration for us all.
Thanks for your kind words, Steve. It was a pleasure making these, from the experience of riding to the joy of editing, these little movies are a labor of love.
I have thoroughly enjoyed riding this trip "with" you. So well done. And your relationship is inspiring. Not many could do this with such love, kindness and great sense of humour. Thank you!
Thank you for binging! That's my favorite way of viewing too. Sometimes it seems unbelievable that we did this. Other times, we just remember it as a bunch of really fun days of riding, all strung together - no big deal. Thanks for the kind words.
Oh what a beautiful finale to your fabulous coast to coast trip! I like that you helped us with your transition from the ride, the dipping your tires in the Atlantic, to spending a day in Boston and getting home, ready to rest for "a very long time." I thank you for letting us on the Internet ride along with you! Love you two!
Thank you RiverBliss. We've really appreciated your watching, as well as your comments all along the way. It really puts the wind in our sails, and encourages us to keep sharing. Thanks again for letting us share!
The end to an epic adventure. What a team. Each of you makes the other stronger. Thanks for all the well done videos. Now on to your next adventure. Take care and stay safe. Al
Just recovering from an operation and these 36 episodes lifted my spirits and sowed the seed for future adventures. Congratulations on quite Tye adventure 👍🇮🇪
So, last Spring, 2022 I was invited over to my friends' Roland and Julianna for a wonderful time and meal in their backyard before they were to leave for their France cycling trip. At one point Julianna asked me if I've watched any of the videos from Discover America. And I'm like.... gulp, not yet, but I intend to. Guilt written all over my face. Well, about a week later, I did start watching one while doing my elliptical work out; then the 2nd chapter, then the 3rd, until seeing them all, not all in one go, but over about 6 weeks. Obviously, I enjoyed them so much, and what a perfect thing to watch while exercising. It even made me go longer on the elliptical than usual. Seeing so much of America through their bike trip was way fun. I loved the optimism, yet honest commentary, even when facing the challenges. Very up-lifting. And I smiled every time with the cute little kiss each morning. They are travel videos, but through the eyes of cyclists. Roland, Rick Steves has got nothing on you!
Hey Todd! thanks for the review! I'm going to put this on the back of the package when I release the boxed set. Any time you wanna head out on a nice long ride just let me know.

Thank you for the wonderful photography and narration. Just watched the last few episodes as my wife and I recover from covid. Can't imagine how you both worked through that. Incredible! Hope to pick up from the beginning soon.
What a fantastic journey. I have thoroughly enjoyed your journey across the USA. What am I going to watch now you have reached journeys end?? Don't leave it too long before your next adventure together. Thanks for sharing your awesome videos.
Hello, Congratulations on finishing your coast to coast bike tour! What an adventure you had, with all those wonderful experiences! I remember when I finished by ride across the US this past spring, it was hard for me to adjust to real life right away. After months of riding it became my life and it was hard to go back to reality the first few weeks I was home. Your video editing music and voice overs were the best. I felt like I was on the adventure with you and I didn't want it to end. Thank you for sharing this adventure on You Tube. I enjoyed every minute! Carmen from Fargo
Thank you Carmen from Fargo! I appreciate your kind words. This really is a way of life, where every day feels alive with possibility and accountability. Normal life can be a bit dull. But I also need the rest! I guess it's all a balance. Thanks so much for watching, really appreciate it!
J &R, thank you for taking me along with you on your incredible journey! It really was a remarkable insight into the challenges, rewards, disappointments and flexibility of long distance bike travel. Not to mention seeing a part of our beautiful country most will never take the time to experience! ‘Happy Trails’!
Thank you Cher! I'm in the process of re-editing this down to a single movie for those disinclined to follow 36 episodes. It blows me away what an epic experience this was, and know that it's the same for everyone who tries this. It's a life changer! Happy trails!
Congrats! Congrats! This is the absolute best cycling vlog for content, narration, and production quality. You two are role models! demonstrating gratitude for life, resiliency, and love for each other. Many, many, happy trails for you both.
Because of your efforts we saw beautiful landscapes in a manner that few get to experience and we met wonderful and interesting people all along the way. The insightful observations sprinkled throughout your adventure were often times inspiring. You two brought back so many memories of my cross country ride so long ago. Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us.
Congratulation! Well done and what a great trip. Thank you for all the effort you put in the filming and editing to deliver us such entertaining and informativ insight. Have a good rest and hopefully see you guys again. Regards from Switzerland. Michael
Hi Michael, we just left Zurich a few days ago. Its cliche, but what a beautiful country you live in. Thanks so much for watching, and for your kind comments. We will release our France trip later in the year. Happy trails!
I was emotional seeing you dip the wheels in the water so goodness knows how you guys felt. When it ends it's a strange sensation and especially when you start walking and driving everywhere!! A wonderful tour guys. Well done
Yeah, we were very emotional, and tired. Very tired! And you're right, Jay, unless you've travelled like this you can't know how surreal it is to return to "normal" life, with strip malls and driving cars and not traveling point to point every day. Thank you for following!
BRAVO! An epic adventure you shared with the world. Thank you so much for letting us go along. We all lived vicariously through your travels and you have motivated many of us to try something that we have dreamed about but never attempted. Best wishes and many happy years of travel to both of you!
Thank you so much, Mark. It would certainly be our hope that we can help nudge someone who has dreamed of such a trip, but just needs that little push. If we can do it, anyone can!
@@TheBicycleTourists you folks were an inspiration and your videos with narration and great editing were top shelf. I’m ready to do it and I’m Physically and financially capable of doing it but I don’t have that special partner to pursue it yet! You two are blessed that everything fell into place for you! Have a great holiday season!
Originally I thought I'd end up doing the ride by myself. It was more than Julianna really wanted t take on, and it had been a dream of mine for ages. I was thrilled that she decided to come along. Don't think I could've done it without her.
Oh, My, what a great way to end this episode with that message. This is been a wonderful adventure to follow, certainly one of the best YT series I have followed. Glad you made it and thanks for sharing.
Thank you Steve. We had a great many takeaways from this trip, but one big one was just how much we love this country, with all its diversity of people and landscapes, and I hope my fellow Americans of all stripes will step back and take time to appreciate how amazing this country is.
So enjoyed watching your videos, they are so much better than many others as you talk about your experiences, both positive and negative, as you travel across the country by bicycle.
YAY!!!! We share your mixed emotions. So happy for you and sad to say good-bye for now. Thank you for sharing your epic journey and your insights along the way. Loved your ending thoughts about connecting, listening, and engaging. You certainly did that from coast to coast. Putting your feet up by the fire was the perfect way to end. We are now watching your European tour from 2019. 😀You've really developed your skills of filming, editing, recording, and music. Look forward to watching your 2022 European tour. Wondering if you might do a video with tips on gear, navigation, and other behind the scenes details in planning trips like this? Much 💕 to you both!
Hi Linda! We're so glad you've followed along. I will get started on 2022 soon, until then, I have a couple of navigational videos to post as of next Friday. Hope to have some of France up by the end of the year. Thanks again for watching!
@@TheBicycleTourists That's awesome!! We are your "groupies". 🤣You have mastered recording while pedaling! Go Pro? Selfie stick? Would be fun to hear your "how to's".
I use a GoPro on a handle, and I wave it around like a crazy man. Julianna's is mounted, she doesn't feel as safe riding a loaded bike with one hand apparently. Then the stuff we shoot OFF the bike is usually with the iPhone (12).
What a great finale to your epic adventure.Thank you for taking us along with you and sharing some of your secrets of the journey. I’m awed, inspired, challenged and just a little sad. Watching you dip the tires was especially sweet. Your smiles at that moment brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations to both of you!!
Congrats! I watched all 36 of the videos and you've inspired me to dig my bike out of storage and start riding again at age 62. My wife and I did a bunch of touring around Europe back in the 90s but life and kids intervened. Now that we are retired maybe we'll get into shape and start touring again!
That's awesome! So many of the people we met along our travels have been in our same age group. It's a great way to stay in shape and see the world the way it should be seen, as you no doubt know. Good luck! Would love to hear how it goes!
Just finished binge-watching your Discovering America series. Great trip and great job on the editing. I have long been planning to ride cross-country after I retire (as well as in Europe) so I have read a lot of books and watched a lot of videos about other people's experiences. Your experience seems the one I identify with the most. I love your fellow Coloradan Ryan Van Duzer's videos but let's face it, I'm 25 years his senior, will never run ultra-marathons or bike 80-100 miles a day, and just don't have his unlimited optimism. Your videos give me a much better idea of what to expect and inspire me to keep moving forward in spite of the setbacks. Looking forward to watching the France trip videos next. Keep up the good work and thanks!
I feel you kind of nailed it here. I also love Ryan's work, but like you, we're older and couldn't begin to match his energy. We try to share the idea that with a reasonable amount of fitness, anyone can do this. It really doesn't have to be only for serious athletes or young people. Thanks so much for your insight.
What a beautifully filmed and spoken final video. I have absolutely loved your trip and eagerly looked forward to the weekly video. I hope you both recovered well. I shall now start to watch your other videos. Take care from the UK
Yes, indeed, Boston always felt like the cradle of American democracy. We came out of this ride with a renewed sense of love for the democracy, and the need to connect with all our fellow Americans (sounds like I'm running for office). And a renewed love for our country.
Fantastic! I've enjoyed following along this trip! Battling with drivers who don't want to give you any road to battling with Covid. Here's to the next attempt!
Yes, there were real challenges on this route. I imagine it will be hard to match the drama in upcoming series. Sure appreciate your following through! Makes my day!
What a great trip across the country. Thanks to you guys, I could experience this beautiful country with you. Who knows maybe one day we will meet at the shores of the Pacific to do it all over again.❤🎉
What an awesome adventure! We enjoyed every single video! You are a great couple to,”ride along with”,on video ! We will miss them! It’s been a year, anymore adventures planned?
@@TheBicycleTourists Northern Tier, 2025. Want to get some 800-1200 mile trips under me before I cross country. Would you consider doing a video in response to questions or one on :here's what we learned"?
Just subscribed to your channel and watched the last portion of your ride across America. I watched the New England sections, as I am a life long New Englander, and found your videos very informative. I too have been told the Northern Trail is something you should avoid but your video shows otherwise. Your narratives are informative, your photography excellent and your personalities enjoyable. You have captivated my interested.
Awesome adventure, awesome videos. Thank you! It would be fascinating, now that you've had time to process everything, to hear your "lessons learned". What would you do differently - duration, route, etc.? What gear would you change? What should you have brought that you didn't? Thanks much!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for sticking through to the end. We cover a bit of that in this video: ruclips.net/video/W6XM042jrL0/видео.html But overall, There's really not a lot we would do differently that we didn't complain about at the time. The big one is changing our route out of Missoula, but that was due to events (fires, closed roads) that were out of our control. Now that I'm more comfortable flying a drone, I would've shot drone footage; it would've been a nice compliment to the other footage.
Love your videos, but confused about when these videos are taking place. You said it was the last day of October, but today is 10/29/22. Was this last year?
Much better! It took a while for the Covid fatigue to leave us. But we just finished several weeks cycling in France, so I'd say we're fully recovered.
I enjoyed your travels immensely and your filming. Truth is, however, you did not actually ride your bicycles across the country. You hopped on a plane when the going got extremely tough and flew a third of the way across the country That’s said, you definitely put in a lot of hard days and a lot of effort and it was enjoyable watching you.
Not only incredible nationwide scenic value, but also Historical Reference Library to our nationwide bicycle trails!

I'm so glad you enjoyed this! Some day we hope to ride in the UK.
Great job you two! Thanks for sharing!!
thank you so much for watching!
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. Beautiful work! 🚲 💪
Thank you for your kind words, Jeff!
Very moving. Your narration is first class. And Boston is the perfect city to recuperate in after such an epic adventure.
What a great adventure! Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you Tim, we enjoyed sharing it with you!
Congratulations on completing an awesome adventure. I've enjoyed watching every segment of your journey. Where to next?
Thanks for watching and following along! We just got home after a long ride in France, hope to begin publishing later in the year.
What a great trip across the country. Thanks to you guys, I could experience this beautiful country with you. Who knows maybe one day we will meet at the shores of the Pacific to do it all over again.❤🎉
Sounds like a plan! I'd definitely like to do it all again.
Great. Well shot. Interesting views of all kinds of American people and places. Keep them coming.
Thank you! And we'll keep 'em coming as long as we can!
It is sad when your ride has to end but the memories will last forever.
It's all about making the best memories that you can.
Amazing!! And so inspiring!! What a great adventure and through such adversity!! Congratulations!!
Thank you Cathleen! So glad you enjoyed it!
I so enjoyed following your adventures across the country, Thank you for sharing and enjoy a much deserved rest.
I'm so glad you followed us. WE just began releasing our France trip yesterday, so here we go again!
I’m in Uk and just want to say how much I have enjoyed watching your adventures. I hope you decide to do another journey at some point
Hello Linda. Thank you! Yes, we will begin editing our France trip soon. UK is on our bucket list. Love your country!
Look forward to watching!
Thanks for sharing your journey! You have now lived my dream! And to be able to do it with someone you love, that makes it even better.
I count my blessings every day!
What an awesome adventure! We enjoyed every single video! You are a great couple to,”ride along with”,on video ! We will miss them! It’s been a year, anymore adventures planned?
Thanks for following, Cheryl! We just finished our trip around France a few days ago. Hope to begin publishing that later this year.
@@TheBicycleTourists how awesome, we hope to travel there in 2024! We’ll be watching for it!👏🚴🏻♀️
Loved watching you journey! Can't wait to my cross country trip!
Thank you so much! When are you planning to go? What's your route?
@@TheBicycleTourists Northern Tier, 2025. Want to get some 800-1200 mile trips under me before I cross country. Would you consider doing a video in response to questions or one on :here's what we learned"?
I would! There are a lot of takeaways one gets from something like this. I might start to put that in motion.
Best cycling cross USA series. Congratulations on biking across the US.(I live in New England, isn't it beautiful!)
Thank you! And yes, New England is just amazing. So beautiful.
Congrats! We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the ride.
Currently in Ohio, on the Simon Kenton Trail. Next week winter sets in. Health & Happiness for you.
Thank you! Here in Colorado, winter is already well entrenched.
Awesome, glad to hear it!
Really enjoyed this journey! Thank you both 👍
You are so welcome!
Glad you enjoyed!
What an epic adventure. Congratulations
Thank you Garry, hope to do it again someday, but without the annoying forest fires and interruption in Montana!
Great coast to coast trip!
For us it was absolutely epic. An experience that will always stay with me.
wow i really Enjoyed your video , love from India
Thanks Mr. Gill! We really enjoyed making it!
@@TheBicycleTourists Bless u🤗
Awesome adventure, awesome videos. Thank you! It would be fascinating, now that you've had time to process everything, to hear your "lessons learned". What would you do differently - duration, route, etc.? What gear would you change? What should you have brought that you didn't? Thanks much!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for sticking through to the end. We cover a bit of that in this video: ruclips.net/video/W6XM042jrL0/видео.html
But overall, There's really not a lot we would do differently that we didn't complain about at the time. The big one is changing our route out of Missoula, but that was due to events (fires, closed roads) that were out of our control.
Now that I'm more comfortable flying a drone, I would've shot drone footage; it would've been a nice compliment to the other footage.
I plan to watch the entire playlist but I do have a question.... do you review you equipment list in one of the videos??
No, I've never done the equipment list video. One of these days!
Love your videos, but confused about when these videos are taking place. You said it was the last day of October, but today is 10/29/22. Was this last year?
Yes, this was last year. It took many months to edit these and publish them.
@@TheBicycleTourists thanks for clarifying. Sounds like a wonderful adventure you had. How are you doing now?
Much better! It took a while for the Covid fatigue to leave us. But we just finished several weeks cycling in France, so I'd say we're fully recovered.
@@TheBicycleTourists so glad you're fully recovered and enjoying biking again.
I enjoyed your travels immensely and your filming.
Truth is, however, you did not actually ride your bicycles across the country.
You hopped on a plane when the going got extremely tough and flew a third of the way across the country
That’s said, you definitely put in a lot of hard days and a lot of effort and it was enjoyable watching you.
Right on all counts!
What is a normal life??
The million dollar question!
If you can make it through this trip marriage will be a piece of 🎂
Right?
