- Thibaut Garcia plays the reflective Sacrificio, written for the 1965 film La frontera de Dios by Spanish composer Regino Sainz de la Maza. Discover his album Aranjuez: w.lnk.to/araLY
This piece, like certain others of the album, draws on an earlier era: it is an adaptation of a guitar piece from the 18th century, the lyrical Leçon by Fernando Sor. It is one of four smaller works by this composer featured in this program alongside the Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo, Musique de cour by Alexandre Tansman, and Suite pour guitare (A Minor) by Robert de Visée.

Lovely to hear this - and played so beautifully. Its melody and harmony are based upon the first half of Fernando Sor's 24 Very Easy Exercises - Opus 35 No. 18.
Fantastic job of my grandfather's piece
Excelente!
Merci Thibault

Variations on Sor Estudio - very nice performance
The beginning is the same as Sor Op.35. No.18... anyway it was a beautiful performance.
Beautiful although disappointed that this track was omitted from the vinyl edition
