6:30 Can confirm once you reach max level the game starts getting a little boring, I myself like going back and completing all of the exploration missions and monster missions, but without those or competing in comps, there's nothing. Every now and then you can target unique fish on underpowered gear but that's it.

I don't get it. My experience is so different than yours. If I use gear lighter than the fish weight, I'm constantly getting either significant damage per fish, or outright broken lines or leaders. I've had Pike snap leaders/lines at level 30 frequently. Had a sturgeon snap a line while it's hanging above my kayak, waiting to be finally captured. I don't see how you're consistently landing fish with significantly lighter gear. I won't fish an area now, until I can match my gear to the highest fish weight. And yes, I drop my drag levels. I am on Xbox though, if that makes a difference.

So i just came back to the game and looking at this video I cant believe that 3 years ago I caught a 20kg lake trout (44LB) on a 8.5 kg line and low tier rod
Ha! Yeah, guess they’ve changed it up a bit. They’ve matched the size of the fish to the size of the rod a bit more. I usually double the strength of the reels drag just to get an idea of the largest fish you can manage, but even that isn’t entirely accurate.
I hate the fact that there is this mission at white moose where I must catch a 7kg+ trout but I caught 2 × 9kg with the spinner bait and it won't register the fish.(Atlantic trout) It does not specify what you species needs to 7kg+ as long as its a trout
Another great video. Just hit level 42 at San Joaquin after a long grind yesterday. Going to try out some different locations now to break up the monotony. Love watching the longer episodes while I fish - catching up on live streams since I'm in the UK is ideal
Hi, I wanna ask I just play on this map and I suddenly realized that this map is unlock at lvl 22 but when I wanna see any rods, reels, and line no equipment that can hold against the lake trout the equipment what should I do I just bought the license too
@@BoAngles oh yeah sir, i wanna ask, if a line test weight is 17kg drag, and if i catch a lake trout that the weight between 19-20kg will the line snap?
@L.4utumn The line will only break once its durability gets down to 0%. Until then it just takes damage. Turn on your three-bar gear status indicator (line/rod/reel) and it'll tell you how much life is left in your gear. The rod, reel and line won't break until their durability gets to zero.
