Just a tip, when the fish isn't tugging on the line that hard, you can use max drag to pull it in. Obviously don't let it then wear your reel away. Like with the 446lb giant grouper u had near the start, when he was stuck at around 10, you can max drag it and pull that in if u didn't know

The rod thing is confusing for new players. If you want to do lure fishing, make sure you buy a cast rod. if you want to bait fish buy a bait rod, they will be called feeder rods or bottom rods. we also have a Discord you can always join and get good advice.

I always troll a crank bait for mackerel and smaller fish on my pike/ musky setup while trolling for marlin and things i have had a lot of success doing that.
I'd love this game if they could just make the physics of fighting fish better.. the stick movement means nothing in this game... in FP u fight fish like a bass fishermen... u do not skull drag dogtooth tuna / grouper like u do bass. I'd also like to see more points for catching fish on lighter gear. It's been years since iv played FP but these were the things that drove me away from it. If its changed pls let me know

So, when I was leveling up at lower levels, I would go to the newest lake I had unlocked, and I would target the biggest fish in the lake. Now I would rely on RUclips for hints, tricks and locations of the fish I was targeting. Also, after you fill a keep net it's a lot cheaper to advance a day then to exit out and rejoin the lake again.
@@MAaron115 i agree its worth it but also a purchase of some extra storage space. i heard the Congo pack is superior for xp grind . i love the new pack. i was concerned about having only 7000ft of line per rod to replenish this line requires spending 6-700 bait coins . so save em coins . or you might have to re Morgage the house to pay 4 coins. also fish for what you want to fish but getting the slightly smaller fish will slow the decay rate on rod and reel.
@@masterkronixster when I bought the DLC I had 30 K in cash, since the DLC I'm over 1 million in cash. I] have leveled up like 12 levels or more in the 3 days i owned the DLC. I have only had to change the line one time, it comes with a lot of line
@@MAaron115my boat is bigger then yours!! you owned it or own it? why i mentioned line is... when you equip your rod from a template and you have already damaged the line it takes new line there for leaving 1000ft of damaged line in my storage. ive done this multiple times till i realise this was happening... sharing so others dont make the same error there is 7000ft of line available. then you have to pay 800coins for new line or grind till 83 to buy with cash. Tight lines

@@MAaron115I’ve never had a leader snap on that drag if you’re using the lighter leader like the 159 lbs leader that’s probably what it is but if you use the 187 lb leader idk because I’ve never had a problem

get ocean odyssey for bjgger boat and 2 month access and then id recomend getting the sailor pack for the better bait caster that way u get two baitcasters for trollin
