I like how when Simba get to the leopard it gets all hacked off and all he does is smack it right across the mouth. Take that beeouch! Lol Thanks for posting, so cool to watch and remember
OMG I REMEMBER THIS GAME I played it at an old friend's house when I was younger. I loved it! I can't remember what leveln I got to though, but I still love the game so much!
There's a quicker way to handle the cheetahs and hyenas. For the cheetahs, rather than just continuously slashing them, if you time it well, you can perform a maul (combo) on them. Quick and effective. For the hyenas, just jump on their head and on the way down, it's a quick movement, hold the down button and then continuously tap the slash button. Simba will pin them down and maul them to death without a fight back :). I can't believe I still remember all this after almost two decades.
OMG MY FAVORITE LEVEL EVER!!!!!!!! i play this level a lot for fun. got to it when i was like 6 yrs old so many good memories :) also has my favorite song in it
Good memories. Except for this level. All those grey pixels when Simba hits a cheetah were red in my version. I was so shocked to suddenly see blood in this game ^^ Of course it doesn't look like a big deal now. But see it from the perspective of 10-year-old-me: Your favorite, unsuspicious game suddenly became ten times more brutal than the bloodiest game you have ever seen in your life ^^
i could never get passed the level near the freaking beginning were u had to jump on the giraffe and monkeys... it was still 1 of my fav games though xD

I would get the occasional "chances", but my friend who had the computer would call the shots. NOW, however, I'd kick his ass ;) He was a nice guy though. He gave everybody fair chances :) I'm definitely looking forward to play this game again.

This game is next to impossible, imo. My brother and I were kids when we had this on the Genesis and we could never beat it. And my brother was awesome at those old games. Stuff now just isn't as challenging, and even he isn't as good as he used to be at those games. We couldn't beat it then, and we definitely couldn't beat it now.
I've finally made it to this level! But the button I use for slapping is the same that lets Simba roar :s If I want him to scratch, I have to press the left or right arrow button + roar. But when pressing these keys, Simba also moves in the direction of the arrow button and this way I can't beat those bloody leopards :(
I passed this game once or twice, but I had a brutal time doing it. This game is tough no doubt, but I find I've gotten better as I've gotten older. I lost this game and Aladdin. I had it for the SNES (gave it to someone maybe, still saddens me).
Sadly I never knew what I was suppose to do on this stage. I didn't know you could move the vines by swatting them and move the boulders. A life long question has finally been answered.
i know what you're saying, i reached the last level (well, back then i didn't knew it was the last level) where you have the gazers of lava shooting up underneath you -- never knew what to do next and how to get passed that point -- always died... i know realize it i was the final level of the game, just a few minutes from finishing it :]
nah cmon i used to beat this game when I was 6. Dont remember if this one had any hard/easy modes. probably beat it on easy if there was such choice. still counts :D
@dagger1087 The difficulty is one of many things that made these older generation of games awesome. Now that you're older, why not give the game another go and see how you fare? It could turn out to be a pleasant surprise when you find that you're awesomer now than you were then.
To fine this game google the rom and the emulator for it or get the game on ebay or fine a game stor that has really old games like this one thats what i did
I was a kid too, and I didn't really have too many problems with it. Then again, maybe it's just awful to play using a controller. I played on the PC using the keyboard. The last level was nasty, though not as nasty as the end of "Prince of Persia" (the whole game was with a time limit. Who does that kind of thing? I always ended up having too little time to defeat the end boss in that game.). I sucked at "Giana Sisters" on the Amiga though. My sisters were much better at that.

those 6 or 7 leopards coming from nowhere freaked the heck out of me when I was little... at first I though.. "IT NEVER ENDS..!! ;_;"

This is where the game ended for me. When i was younger i couldn't manage to go further (if i survived the level 5)

The lava level was not the last level it was the 8th level. There are two more levels after that
