The sprites in this game were amazing!
Not surprising, (I think I'm remembering this correctly) for this game along with Aladdin they actually had some of the animators who worked on the movies, do some of the animations for the games as well

As a kid playing (and never beating) these games, I like to imagine it would somehow get more "graphically" impressive as you get closer to the end (including beyond my imagination). But it makes a lot more sense that it would all look about the same from beginning to end.
i love the person who made these tunes...and the natural moves of the simba as he travels just as accurate as the movie...My favorite all the time movie since i was 1 day old
Funny there's no Nala boss fight, since Simba actually DOES fight her when she tries to eat Pumbaa.
I'm planning to do a Lion King fangame, in honor to the upcoming Lion King live action movie (I really hope it's a success). It will be the first one to include a Nala boss fight and will also have a multiplayer mode with party games, up to four players.

@Cartoonist Louis I know. I'm trying to make it on Game Maker 8, but I'm still a rookie at it, and I don't know very well how to program things like enemies and bosses. I guess first I'll do simple Lion King games, like a classic Zelda style one, and a Donkey Kong Jr. style one.

loved this one as a child. if I had one critique, I'd say that you didn't have to smack scar around that long at the top. just throw him off and your good.... unless you just enjoyed smacking scar around for that long.

You actually do have to damage him a bit in order to be able to throw him but the player in the vid did overdo it lol
It took me a while as a kid to figure out HOW to toss him, as I didn't have the manual - eventually I figured out it was Shift+Alt keys (PC version): the keys for regular attack and rapid-half-standing-up attack combined.
Nick Morgan In this Sega version, I had to press the B and C button together to throw Scar around until there was enough distance to throw him off the cliff.
twist58 we played this as a kid. I could never figure out the code to make simba throw scar.
As a kid, this game was a nightmare to beat. But one of the better looking Genesis games

Learning you even had that skill, or that it was the only way to win sure wasn't. Spent a bunch of time and lifes waking him all over the place till it miraculously happened on a button mash.

Scar could be defeated sooner, once his health is down he starts taking breaks and the game tries to tell you 'Throw him off the cliff now!' but setting that up is kinda tricky since Scar can recover and starts attacking again.
So yeah, Scar has acually unlimited health you could say, as a child i was stuck there around 20 minutes until i threw him off the cliff by accident XD
I love these types of "Old school" games they look so cool to me

Good lord this game was SO hard!! I remember how frustrating this and other Disney games were growing up haha. What really made games hard back in the day was no saves (obviously) and limited lives. Games like Battletoads (seriously was it possible to beat that game??), contra 1-4, the Castlevania’s, and Maximum Carnage were some of the HARDEST games EVER!

The genisis version is so much different than the super nintendo one. The sounds are all different, and even the colour schemes for characters is different.

Hakuna Matata😠😠😠 Spent weeks with those damn logs in the waterfall just to have to deal with that IGNORANT ASS GORILLA THROWIN FRUIT AROUND!!!!!!! Took another week just to beat him!!!! It wouldn't have been so bad if I was able to save the damn game at least. These kids today have it way too easy. Im gettin pissed just thinking about it.

If I recall, in the movie, Simba needed time to recover from the loss of his dad, Mufasa, before he could reclaim his crown from his uncle, Scar. Nala just wanted to be certain, when she found him.

Be prepared level (I think I got that right, the one with all the lava) was a PAIIIN. Never once made it through on anything over easy, and even then that level kicked my ass. Now if someone could do THAT level with no dmg, I’d be impressed.
