I have such fond memories of my years spent in New Hampshire. I travelled down the I93 many times and it's so beautiful. I'm now living back in England but I often think of the White Mountains and the kindness and warmth shown to me by the people there when we moved to Campton near Plymouth.
Beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing thank you so much that’s right all right ok no problems me too see you soon see you later good luck good job you are welcome.
Yes, they are. they may not be as tall as those out west but I have seen some videos of The Colorado Trail and that is a cake walk compared to the trails in NH.

@@Freewayjim There have been many times as I drive home to Concord, I still think of Whitefield as home, when the Notch looks just this way, where I wonder what I am not living up north, then I remember, I need a job and I can't deal with the cold, any more.
Really loved the song you chose; I ended up downloading it. Thanks for this video; easily one of my top 3 or 4 favorite stretches of freeway on the east coast.
Great video I was just on that road this month. I wish you had a shot of echo lake. it looks like the gods carved out their own personal swimming hole.
Now that the Old Man has fallen off the mountain is there any plans to widen this road to at least 4 lanes? It is my understanding that the reason this road was build as super was to keep vibrations down to keep him from falling.
Nice one Jim. Loved the song. And you're right, the return trip is better than the northbound one. Something about seeing those mountains in the distance.
Thanks, I actually like the northbound trip better....probably because of the anticipation of where I'm going, I think this is one is very different, and good of course
I-77 The West Virginia Turnpike was two lanes until the late 1980's.....I don't think there are any other places I can think of off the top of my head.
I always enjoy Northern New England thanks. Even though I had shot northbound before there was a night and day difference between the videos, both quality and production wise.
I love this wonderful drive though Franconia Notch Stata Park. I can't wait you drive though Boston. That's where we travel to. Are going planning do more video on Massachusetts? There were some great roads to travel though like Plymouth & Cape Cod, Mass. =)
your comment about kissing the bumper of the car in front of you makes me laugh. I often have to remind myself that the speed limit in 45 and that 60 is a little too fast for The Notch. There's a meme that goes around every now and then, something like, "the speed limit in Franconia Notch: experience".
I don't ONLY do freeways, see US-302 in NH and several city street videos. I just don't see myself ever getting up to the 1000 Islands area anytime soon.
Have you used this song before? Seems very familiar... Scenic ride as expected up here. Boston will look like unfamiliar territory after the last 5 videos.
Great video and I-93 North and South has another 45 mph speed limit besides the Franconia Notch it's the Boston big dig which is from I-90 to US-1 tobin bridge.
Good one! Makes me homesick for NH... I vacation in N/E every autumn since 2005 and can't wait to go again!!! I must also commend the clean, litter-free roadways in NH... unlike our freeways here in So.Calif. with mattresses, junk, trash, tossed everywhere on the roadside :(
In speaking of Thousand Islands Bridge, too bad you only do freeways and don't intend on getting up here any time soon, I'd recommend NY 12 north of Clayton on a summer evening. It's right along the St. Lawrence Seaway, and one of the most beautiful drives I've ever had.
I remember that fight. I remember the first time I headed south through the Notch after the construction was done. When you come around the corner, where the Mittersill Resort used to be, was jaw dropping the way Cannon Mt. hits you in the face.
Nice! I-93 sure enough has a good view SB! I can't wait to see your footage throughout my local city I live close to! On the other hand, I don't think it makes sense for a Super 2 along here, especially since I-93's the only interstate to have one. Why couldn't they make it a four lane road, to accompany interstate standards?
I would hate to see the carnage that would ensue if this was built into a 4 lane highway. If you travel north or south on any summer weekend, you will find miles of cars parked along the side of the road, illegally, to get to the very popular hiking trails. The state just started putting no parking signs on the highway. People forget that it's technically an interstate highway.
I was beginning to wonder why, when you did a re-upload on your Franconia video last week, why you didn't go south for the video, since we had already seen the north. Well, now I know. Hopefully you enjoyed Northern New England. :)

It's beautiful. I have never been north of Boston, unfortunately. I hope to see. NH and VT one day.
Thank you, yes NH is beautiful as well as quaint.
I especially recommend staying at Sterling Ridge in Vermont & visiting smugglers notch. Peaceful & relaxing.
Beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing thank you so much that’s right all right ok no problems me too see you soon see you later good luck good job you are welcome.
Thank you!
Man, that is one gorgeous road! Too bad Chitty Chitty Bang Bang had to sneak in front of you and dawdle along.
😩I miss home. No place like The North Country. Good tune too.
Thanks, I always enjoyed my visits there.
I-81 north of Watertown. The Thousand Islands bridge is two laned, but continues as a four-lane highway beyond that to Canada.
The New Hampshire mountains are so underrated
Yes, they are. they may not be as tall as those out west but I have seen some videos of The Colorado Trail and that is a cake walk compared to the trails in NH.
eh. Like it better that way- keeps the riff raff away & maintains the serenity & tranquility.

I have to say, you caught The Notch at the perfect time of day. I love driving south with this light. I could watch this video for days.
Thank you very much, sometimes you get lucky with the conditions.

I must say I never get tired of a highway surrounded by an all green scenery. What a beautiful landscape.
Great video Mr Jim, those mountains sure are beutiful up there!

Beautiful video, Jim! New Hampshire seems so underrated.
Shhhhh. We get over run already from people from MA. I don't need any more congestion.
I live in New Hampshire and it is calm and peaceful
A beautiful New Hampshire trilogy! The third video is the best!
You should do the Kancamagus going through the White Mountains
100% my favorite state
Great video I was just on that road this month. I wish you had a shot of echo lake. it looks like the gods carved out their own personal swimming hole.
Thanks
I have used your videos to "visit" other parts of the country too far for me to go, but this one is right where I live!
Glad you could come through.
I'm a NH native :)
Nice! What part of the state are you in?
I live in Atlanta, GA but was born in Concord and lived in several places in NH before moving south in 1977.

The weather is always unpredictable up there. Sunny to cloudy or rain on ether side. plus it's always windy through there.

Enjoy the scenery and fresh air, ignore the slowpoke...he may be enjoying, too
I used this song a few years ago on a bland section of I-75 in North Georgia that has since been taken down.
¿Tu pieces ser lo quieras chicho con?
¡Hasta la doble esta todo en ahora se!
Beautiful scenery excellent job. Interstates should not be 2 lanes with 45 mph speed limit IMO.
JRC Sierra. Not many go 45 but it's only for a short distance through the Franconia Notch State Park. Slow down and enjoy the scenery...
Thanks, I actually like the northbound trip better....probably because of the anticipation of where I'm going, I think this is one is very different, and good of course

Good choice of music it goes great with the mountain scenery I go up there every summer btw I'm from southern NH
Thanks, I lived in Southern NH from 1972-1977 (Nashua).
Freewayjim I'm from Nashua too
I grew up in Whitefield and I am up there several times a year, 6 or 7.

Thanks, and I agree!
Thank you very much!
The speed limit thru the notch is 45 mph
I posted that at 2:05
Thanks!
Thanks, yes we could not get the camera up fast enough when we saw those clouds.
Thank you!
Thanks and you are correct!
In what other places do interstate highways narrow to two lanes?
Thank you very much for the compliment :)
Interesting to main lanes purposely reduced to one lane for that long of a stretch.
Good question, I'm not aware of any plans though.
Everything about this is perfect! Thanks for your work! :)
Thanks Huy!

Agreed!
In Littleton which in the last video I saw the exit for interstate 93
Some parts of that road are very nice and video worthy but I don't see myself in that area anytime soon.
LOL, There is no better word to describe getting around a slow poke.

How fast were you driving? 120 MPH?! LOL Great video. I've lived in NH most of my life.

Yeah, I figured you had sped it up. lol

It was a compromise to build it as a parkway, sure beats the old two-lane US-3 that used to be the only way through.
I remember that fight. I remember the first time I headed south through the Notch after the construction was done. When you come around the corner, where the Mittersill Resort used to be, was jaw dropping the way Cannon Mt. hits you in the face.

benlonghighway becuase it passes through a protected land area and that was the compromise. There wasn’t even supposed to be a road there anyway.

The area through Franconia notch should be widened from two to four lanes.
That won't happen. It took decades to get the approval to get it to its current condition.
If you are in Southern California, that red SUV might as well be me, you know. Be careful lol.
