We had walk in "basics for advanced" course... after 2 long lessons of training my wife told me... I am happy, we managed to do 3 nice steps... 😀To be honest, more, than I expected...
You are neglecting to mention a fundamental element of the intention, the circularity of the center, in that before she steps back, you actually bring her slightly forward toward you, so she is on front of foot, and then you give intention yourself downward and into floor to send her to back step. Same thing if sending her to your right open step from a stop, first bring her slightly to left, then to right. Otherwise you are just pushing. I see that you are doing it in a subtle way internally, but it helps to vocalize it.

Thanks a lot !
Wonderful example of the Tango Walk...so many dancers can't do it properly...meaning there is no feeling or expression with the music.
Nice analysis of the details of the walk.

Beautiful, as always.
BTW, what is that word you use for the opening step? Appatura? Appaduta? ??
Apertura
This time no microphone for Pablo? 😂
Good explanations, thank you!
