Characters Players Should Build for End Game & Sparkle/Black Swan Thoughts | Honkai Star Rail

- Today, I discuss characters I highly recommend every player should build on their account, and I also go over potential Dr. Ratio, Sparkle & Black Swan team concepts that could work in Honkai: Star Rail. The meta has been changing in Honkai Star Rail, due to the release of a character called Ruan Mei, which has players potentially wondering who they should build on their accounts. As for what Ruan Mei offers, she is a brand new Ice Harmony Character who focuses on increasing the damage of allies, increasing allies' speed, increasing weakness break efficiency of the team, delaying enemies, and much more! Her banner consists of Ruan Mei, Xueyi, Tingyun, and March 7th and will be the first phase of version 1.6. Kafka will be making a rerun alongside Dr. Ratio in the second phase of version 1.6. As for Black Swan & Sparkle, they will be the two 5-star characters of Version 2.0 and are highly anticipated for quantum teams with Sparkle, and Black Swan being a potential partner for Kafka.

Sparkle sounds pretty good for qingque considering we have a Full quantum team, we just need bs and sparkle kit in order to decide
She is practically built for qq and mono quantum
The kits are out there if you wanna see them. Sparkle is gonna go freakin HARD as a quantum Bronya. Black Swan is on another level, ESPECIALLY for DoT teams and even solo if you dont have other DoT units. Like, i cant tell you how flippin strong Black Swan is. It's absolutely bonkers!

Just hope they put QQ on Sparkle's banner so I can e4 her. Gonna skip Kafka and BS cause Im building Himeko and Herta for PF and just got Blade/Ruan Mei and Bronya too, so a lotta stuff to work until Sparkle
That seems pretty likely as QQ (and DHIL obviously) is pretty much the ideal character you'd want to use with Sparkle given her max SP increase gimmick and buffs based on SP usage. For anyone not using these high SP characters, she actually looks like a good skip option, especially if you already have Bronya.
@@pluesch. Yeah I agree, thats why I got Ruan Mei first cause shes looking more universal. Still there will be a lot of new characters this year so Im sure they will make use of Sparkle
@@pluesch.you don’t get it though. She enables dual dps because the main problem with running more than one dps is sp management. With Sparkle you can run 2 or possibly even 3 dps and have them all buffed thanks to how her ult works and not run into sp issues. So FUA teams with Topaz and DoT teams with Kafka benefit for the extra skill points. Sp hungry units like Seele and DHIL will definitely benefit a lot from her but they won’t be the only ones getting buffed. She’s pretty much good with anyone really.

I used to be a fan of Asta, but I'm not anymore.
While speed buff is important, and seems great. Hers is limited in scope, it only lasts for 2 turns and many characters have their own speed buffs or turn reset mechanic.
While Ruan Mei's speed buff is much smaller, it has a permanent uptime, which I like a lot more.
Now, if Asta was doing Action Advance forward in AoE like Dance Dance Dance + 1 turn speed buff after the ally moves. It would've been a lot better. However, as she stands right now, I got her at lv75 and build.
But I rarely use her, I much rather use: Tingyun, Pela, Ruan Mei. Even Luka
She just great in dual DPS & DoT team i think. Also she more useful in Pure Fiction instead of MOC, so she is not that bad but she also not the best option

Team 1: Jingliu Blade RuanMei Bailu
Ok all 5*, most of them limited, whatever - also only scores around 28-29k points
My usual side 2 team this PF:
JingYuan, Himeko(or Seele), Tingyun and FireMc. I have no replaced Fire MC with Asta
My normal Team with Fire MC scored 60.9k points and the Asta team scored 61.9k points.
My Asta is: E4, lv 75,
10, 9, 8 5 (talent, skill, ultimate, basic)
All traces unlocked except the lv 80 one
139 speed.
Crit Rate, Speed, Atk, ER build.
Planetary Randevous to buff Himeko even more.
On Musketer's Set + Broken Keel (+10% crit dmg for my team)
So its not like she's "not build". She's not 100% but she's close to that.
My fire MC is:
E6 (everyone can get), lv 80
9 8 8 6 (talent, skill, ultimate, basic)
All traces unlocked
144 speed
Defense, Speed, Fire Damage, Defense build
On Knight of Purity (bigger shields by 20%), + Broken Keel (+10% crit dmg for my team).
And they perform similarly. If anything, the second team is more safe as most aggro goes to Fire MC because preservation + taunt Light Cone. Which makes it more likely for the hand to "take him"
In the Fire MC team, TingYun gets Asta's light cone.
This is why, Asta is ok. But she's not as "must build" as most people make her out to be. At least not now.
@@serikazero128 Ah i see, thankyou for that long explanation. Now i wanna build my Fire MC too. But my question is, what's LC can I use for him/her?
@@MizuWannabeYourHarmony do note, Fire MC works well this pure fiction because enemies are weak to fire, and aoe ult breaks all fire weak enemies and puts bombs on all their heads. And him getting taken by the hand is preferable Vs losing your DPS until you break it.
And in my case he also helps triggering Himeko (side note, Jing yuan, seele, tingyun, fire MC also scored 62.3k for me).
So I'm not arguing he/she is a must build. He does fit very well being fully SP positive and good defensive option this rotation.
For light comes we have a few choices for Fire MC:
Landau's Choice (serval protecting ghepard - 4* gacha) or moment of victory (ghepard shop 5*) - both provide extra taunt vale for you preservation character - I'm mainly using S1 Landau's Choice on Fire MC
Day 1 of my new life ( march 7 - 4* gatcha) is another great defensive option
And the new patch might make available a good f2p 4* cone that will make preservation more offensive. Potentially good for fire MC with a break build

My issue in team building is understanding what a character needs the most. For example, Hanya seems so great to me cause I like spamming skill points for my dps, the speed buff is also great, and dmg buff, and single target dmg bonus from burden. But everytime I tell people this everyone tells me. "No use Tingyun" for my argenti. Im like, fair i see it, but I just feel wrong in everything I think is right.
Use the characters that benefit/enhance your playstyle. If you wanna use Hanya because she helps your skill spamming then use her.
It’s a very common misconception that hangs gives single target dmg bonus, she gives dmg bonus to all targets as long as the target of burden is hit for 2 turns, so you don’t have to even hit a target with burden half the time to use the dmg buff.
Tingyun and hanya are pretty similar for argenti, generally tingyun is better for less targets, since argenti isn’t getting energy and needs to charge the 180 cost ult, while hanya is better for multi-target.
Really? i thought hanya was better for single target because if the burden goes away too fast then its kinda a skill point loss if they die immediately?@@georgezhang1573
I love Qinqgque so much she has become my favourite character and after getting her to E4, Silver Wolf and Lynx my aim is to go full Mono Quantum. Yet I’ve missed oud on Fu Xuan, but really looking forward to Sparkle. But I have a question about survivability? Will Lynx be enough to keep the a team with Qinqgque, Silver wolf and Sparkle alive ?

So for the cheap ((hi)) i recommend building physical blazer. They help with pure fiction and shouldnt be overlooked. Besides those already mentioned, who are all solid to build, pay attention to who gets what in terms of sets. Cause it can cause some interesting... Side effects to group dynamics

@@Moonnverse it's really nice, especially since they will more than likely only get more paths and elements as the game goes on. Only investment needed ((for the moment)) be traces and gear.
@@SpazzingEagle I actually found Fire MC to be good in Pure Fiction. They are decent enough to let you survive, skill positive and most of all, they have a damage ult ( like Luocha and Fu Xuan if you have them) which is the focus of this season. Also their enhanced attack is blast so nice to break weakness of finish weak enemies.
Is that worth it to build him if I already have Clara? (low to medium investments)

seems like sparkle will be great for DHIL but I just don't like her design/personality (same reason I didn't pull for Jingliu)
Based on a dream, she's no longer good for IL
she is good for E0 DHIL, but doesn't do as much for E2 one. Still seems like a good character to have for any other future SP-hungry dps though, + is likely to have necessary-for-any-DHIL Yukong in her banner. So I'd still consider throwing some rolls on her
Is Black Swan playable without Kafka though? Contemplating if I should pull her or not because of this
Playable yes, but not ideal, penacony is gonna be packed so you should save that for someone else.

She’s still viable and can dish out solid damage with the right build, but imo she really only needs her E4 to be really good (her E6 does help with SP, but that’s about it)
Gonna skip Kafka and BS as i need that Ruan Mei E1 and Hanabi for IL, although he sucks for PF, i can always use either JL or Seele for that, which Hanabi also helps with.
He'll probably be usable in PF with Hanabi tbh
I'm free to play i need to choose 1 to blackswan and sparkle . I'll go for Blackswan skill points positive with reduce defense , ignore defense and the more stacks the more damage on her DOT .
Unless you have Kafka already, I wouldnt go for blackswan. If you do have Kafka, Ruan Mei would benefit them more over Sparkle

I'm telling everyone now. If you love this game, do whatever you need to do IRL to be able to pull Sparkle AND Black Swan AND their light cones. They are game changers and so flippin OP that you will be kicking yourself for not getting them. Sparkle is a quantum Bronya with more bells and whistles, and Black Swan is like a 5 star Wind Pela with a better DOT version of SU's nihility Suspicion mechanic that goes HARD!
Nah man, we already hear that with IL, Jingluu and Ruan Mei. Nobody is mandatory or op, u just need good relics and even 4* pepegas clear anything. Im really tired from stupid people, who see new toy every 2-3 month and scream YOU NEED TO GET THIS NO MATTER WHAT.
Their light cones are absolutely not needed
I don’t care about Kafka fr so black swan isn’t looking important to me at all. Sparkle will be good tho for my DHIL team .
