Hello sir, I have seen your vedios on youtube.. those werenvery helpful for the students who are willing to go for structural designer. I was looking for the load cancalution wala vedio. And I got it finally. You explained it very nice. Thanks alot sir. I just request you to please comeup with more variety of vedios with practice example and calculation.. if it possible.. because I really wanna learn from you. Can you please provide me you mail id or something else where I can come up with doubts?
Check local axis of the member and give release accordingly. X axis is along the length and if you will give release im Mx at both the ends it will gove you instability error in torsion. So avoid giving release in Mx. For Mz And My, check and give as per your requirements.
Very detailed video. Please is it okay if we specify the bracings as tension members instead of applying moment release at start and end? Is it the same thing?
@@eCivilTech Thanks so much. I was also wondering why you released moment in Mx and Mz direction for the supports. Isn't it suppose to resist sway moment in those directions due to wind loading?
No, I don't think result will be same. But it will be marginal in our case as truss don't carry bending moment. When you define truss it wont check for bending, but when you give release it will check member for bending. But I've to confirm check this. Can you do an exercise, in same telecom tower give truss and check results and let me know the differences.
Most welcome. There's nothing like aspect ratio in tower. It all depends on load on tower and how open land is available to you. More broader base means more economical, more narrower base means more heavy tower. You can use guy wire to make tower very narrow. Monopoles are alternative to tower but it generally approx 2.5 times heavier than towers.
@@ritikabohra829 For telecommunication Tower, we mostly go with vertical leg tower as demonstrated in video due to very less lateral wind load. But still if you wants to go with tapered tower, then angle between tower leg w.r.t. vertical plane shall be 0 degree to 3 degree. For transmission tower angle between tower leg w.r.t vertical plane can be upto 8 degrees. These are on the bases of experience. Designers are free to choose base width on the bases of availability of land, total height of tower and loadings.
Beta angle is necessary where bending moment is coming on member. Like column of portal frames, any flexural member like beams, purlins etc. For truss member, I don't think it is necessary.
All load will be exactly same as Ground based tower. Only difference will be value ok K2 while calculating wind pressure. Value of K2 shall be taken at height building height + tower height.

I don't know any such indian book for manual calculation. But you can use ANSI-TIA-EIA-222-G for manual calculation. If you want to do it as per indian code then you can use my videos for manual load calculation, and IS800-2007 for design. For analysis you can use any structural analysis book that covers load distribution in trusses.
Sir , is it possible to design a above steel tower on a G+4 building. Can you please explain it in a video. I have asked the same question for many people but none of them gave me the answer.can you please make a video on this .
Yes, it is possible. The will be only change will be value of K2 while calculating wind pressure. Secondly, you'll have to check the load carrying capacity of building. For RCC building, you can make the frame on Staad and check the same. Hope this is helpful for you.
Thank you sir for responding , no one have given me the answer for this question. sir, can you please make a video of this all my friends are having the same doubt. Sir please make a new video for this , please.
@@akash7920 I suggest to create building frame manually in your tower file. Or you can create tower model manually if you already have building frame. Secondly, if your building is very big in area, then no need to create entire building. Just model columns and beams around the tower, and columns-beamns around the supporting columns.
Thank you for the videos ,my civil engineering final year project is design and analysis of a telecom tower
Most welcome 😊

We are still waiting
Sir, Please upload remaining lessons as early as possible. I'm waiting for your latest uploads.

Thank you sir

U can apply bracings as truss members from beam specification. Tension member is for ropes, steel cables which cannot take any compression.
@@eCivilTech Thanks so much. I was also wondering why you released moment in Mx and Mz direction for the supports. Isn't it suppose to resist sway moment in those directions due to wind loading?
Thanks sir
Will design transmission tower same as telecommunications tower..???
Design procedure may be same. But loading part is entirely different, refer IS 802 for detailed loading of transmission tower.
Sir why didn't you assign member truss to the bracings instead of releasing..? Both would be same na or does that make any difference

@@eCivilTech ok but in case of self supported towers there should be some range of base width to height ratio.

hello ecivil tech could please do monopole telecom tower design and analysis
I will surely do. But when is a big question. :)
Sir, what are the different types of loads acted on this tower, if the tower is on the G+3 building ?
