I am confused. I was under the impression that Geshe Chekhawa was a direct student of Atisha and that he we directly receiving oral teachings on the seven points of mind training from Atisha. My understanding was that although that this teaching was taught orally for a very long time, that Geshe Chekawa was the very first to put the teachings from Atisha down into writing. Could somebody please clarify this for me? Many thanks. In the Dharma, Dan
Daniel D Jowo Atisha died in 1054. Geshe Chekawa was born in 1102. Till it was written down the seven point mind training were secret teachings and the seven point cause and effect were the public teachings
Thank you, Lama!
