    • @adelam4903

:주이 I know the vowels sound similar, but if you listen to them one after the other repeatedly you'll eventually be able to tell the difference. Just like in English, but maybe even easier. Once you learn the pronunciation in Korean, it's always pronounced that one way, whereas with English, you'll learn to say letters one way, but in a lot of words they sound different. For example, the letter A, in the words "salad" and "car", for both you would say they're pronounced "s-ah-l-ah-d" and "k-ah-r", but the A is slightly different, the A in "car" is a bit deeper, that's the best word I can think of for it. So don't worry about pronunciation, because once you get it, there's no exceptions. 😊

I was always pronouncing them wrong because I wouldn't move my mouth correctly to make the sound, but after watching this video, I now know how to make the sounds. I just got a partner to learn Korean with and I'm going to study with them later. I agree about once you learn the alphabet, vowels and consonants. After learning and memorizing. It makes it easy to read korean without relying on romanization. It took me, i would say about 2 weeks to 3 at least to learn the alphabet, vowels and consonants by studying everyday. I was surprised at myself how I memorized it all. Listening to korean music, watching kdramas and k reality shows helped me memorize it more by having English and korean subtitles (not romanized but then Hangul characters) on. I’m not quick at reading it though. I have to stop and read it slowly and repeat it a couple times but with some words that I’m familiar with I can recognized fast and read them quick.
But even though I can read korean. I still don’t know what I’m reading half the time. I’m still learning on that part. As well at pronouncing some words.

O becomes silent when it's combined with a vowel but when it's put as the final consonant in the bottom of a syllable, it becomes "ng" sound. Thanl you. 고마워요♡

I guess knowing a few languages before learning hangul is really helpful, as I can replace these romanizations with a much better system of mine, using English , Polish and German sounds all at once. Let's see if I can learn it this way and actually be able to dump romanizations completely.
I just wish I could switch out my keyboard for a better one so I have the roman letters and hangul letters all at once.
Disclaimer: I might actually come up with a new alphabet this way lol

I have a hard time getting fluency level. When a Korean friend text me I use a translator, I do know something but not enough to understand completely. I bought a book in the Philippines, where I'm vacationing currently. That has Korean mixed in with 4 other languages. I'm a language buff and like learning other languages. So I thought to introduce myself to Korean. This is nice video for a 1st timer like myself. I'm currently watching it to learn and pronounce the alphabet!!! Nice dog :), subscribing!!

I think for the “b”, following the rules: top to bottom, left to right, outside in, first you must draw the two verticals from left to right like so..| | then you add the horizontal line within like so...|-| and lastly you add the bottom horizontal line.
Please correct me if I’m wrong as I am learning as well. Thank you.
