    So can you still have endometriosis after a hysterectomy? The answer is absolutely. The definition of endometriosis is tissue similar to the endometrial lining found elsewhere in the pelvis. It can be on the diaphragm as well, or other areas in the abdomen. But if you don't remove the lesions themselves and just remove the uterus, it doesn't treat the problem.

    It cured mine and I am 8 yrs post op and no more pain from the endometriosis!

      This is good to hear, I’m very happy for you. Endo is so debilitating. I’m waiting for my hysterectomy and really scared!

      @uzmaazma7685 The doctor only removed my right ovary and left the other one.

    I had a hysterectomy but I still have my ovaries. I had my surgery in 2002. Honestly it was the best thing to happen to me.

    My hysterectomy didn’t help! I had adenomyosis and still have endometriosis.

      Yes you can actually. Bowel endometriosis is the most common post hysterectomy
