      @waggafletcher Год назад +12

      Mate, gotta say his own country is still a bit slow on the uptake. It's primarily due to (some otherwise decent) media having vested interests in other football codes, and the Melbourne AFL Media Mafia.
      London is about to be gripped by Angemania and Australia is watching a sport nobody from north of Gundagai gives a flamin' galah about!

      The Spurs game last weekend was a feature story on free to air evening news last weekend. I am nearly 70 years old and I have never seen a story before on the News in Australia about a normal premier league game. Yes things are changing here. People are sitting up and taking notice .@@waggafletcher

      Give it a rest wagga, you just enjoy your sport and we will enjoy ours. The media are just reporting what the public in that area want them to report on. Nothing to your nut over.

    • @xaviervogel5201
      @xaviervogel5201 Год назад

      @@JO-pz6uf You are wrong here pal. As the guy said the AFL mafia has full control of what goes on in Melbourne. They run a narrative that they push hard with the support of the Melbourne media that the AFL is the only sport worth watching. Thus, the AFL mafia with it's media in tow, stiffles any other sport that wants to make an impression in Melbourne, be it football (soccer), basketball, rugby, etc. The AFL Mafia and the media in Melbourne saturate the TV channels, and the newspapers with AFL events, while to he other sports get only a small amount of exposure. Melbourne is inundated with AFL drivel that we have to read or watch everyday. The AFL even have a two week brake after the end of the season before starting the finals. The AFL does try his, not to give a break to the teams that will play finals, but, because the AFL gets to have an extra week to have the people focusing on AFL events and keeping their minds on to he 'footy' . So the guy who posted about to he AFL mafia (and the media that supports it's narrative) is right.

    • @stevenbozic8604
      @stevenbozic8604 Год назад +8

      @@coffee6783 thanks to Celtic? for taking a risk? that's very noble when you consider that when Neil Lennon was sacked in February 2021, Celtic did not "risk it" and preferred to "play it safe" and went after Eddie Howe. From March till late May 2021, Celtic put all their eggs in the one basket only for talks to break down. Celtic said they would "engaged with a number of candidates" and hope to soon "announce the appointment of a manager with the quality and desire to take Celtic forward" So with only 5 weeks before the start of the season beginning with a Champions League qualifying match, Celtic hastily appointed Ange. Unlike Eddie Howe or Celtic, Ange took the "big risk" and accepted the job having to inherit a backroom staff that was responsible for Celtic finishing 25 POINTS behind Rangers the previous season.
      Yes, it's thanks to Ange that after losing the 2020/21 SPL title in the "10 in a row" season to a club, (no disrespect), who were playing FOURTH LEVEL football in 2012, he took a risk with Celtic, dragged them off the floor and won 5 trophies (1 treble) and also including two seasons including two automatic UCL group qualifications AND generating 40 million pounds (26 million in UCL revenue & 14 million from the compensation payout from Spurs).
      BTW, if you can take over a club in your EPL debut who suffered their worst season in 14 years, having just lost the England captain and 2nd highest EPL goal scorer of all-time and have them in 2nd on the table unbeaten with a manager of the month award already under your belt is proof that the cream always rises to the top, so Celtic or not, Ange was destined for the EPL and greatness.

    The saying “actions speak louder than words” comes to mind when trying to explain Philotimo, as it's easier to give examples of when you have experienced Philotimo, rather than trying to define the word itself.
    According to Elder Paisios’, the definition of the word, Philotimo refers to “the relevant distillation of goodness; the radiant love of the humble man bereft of himself, but with a heart full of gratitude to God and his fellow man; because of his spiritual sensitivity he tries to repay even the slightest good that others do to him.”
