In the 1980s my parents had friends who lived on Key Largo, Florida. At the time I thought it was a novel idea, but he built his house on stilts. And since the lots were not large, he was able to park his cars under the house and not use precious land constructing a driveway. It is time to start building homes on stilts.
homes on stilts will do okay if flooding is your only problem. If you have hurricane force winds or tornadoes as well then all bets are off. Climate change is going to require a lot of adaptation from humanity
Grew up In Manville Went to Sacred Heart School, MHS, It always floods…. I don’t understand why ppl would rent, live in Manville… as each storm comes it gets worst!
Lived here a few months. All communities in this area lie south of the Watchung Mountain range…like a mile or less. This is always a problem of run off.

I drive past that church everyday going to work in Somerville. Our company got 7 feet of water, as of Sept 29th, we are still cleaning up our business and will be for another couple of weeks

Cost of living. Real estate prices in manville are cheaper than surrounding aeras manily due to floods.
@@TSBilliards86beacuse of bound brooks government funded solution, manville’s flooding has gotten 10 times worse cause it pushes all the water over there
