Looks great guys! One caution: The 16ga extension cord you used is rated up to 13 amps or 1430 watts. Most space heaters can run up to 1800 watts so if you try to plug it in, you will overload and overheat the wires. What you can do is buy a 12ga cord and plug that in separately in your campground outlet.
14 gauge extension cord would have been a much better choice. You can use a separate 14-gauge just for the heater or like somebody else said a 12 gauge. I know $$$

Thanks for this video! I'm currently building a tiny home and just couldn't get around some huge expenses that weren't gonna fit in my budget, but this offered a ton of wonderful ideas to save money.
Fence picket boards are great. I am building a small 12x12 cabin in my backyard. I used fence boarding to do the sides, kinda like you did with the pallets.
Amazing build! My only concern I haven't seen anyone else point out tho is the black supports. Especially at night, those 2x4s sticking out could prove hazardous. People in camp running into them or accidentally hitting one into something while driving just because you forget they're there.
House wiring would’ve still been within budget. You seem to love building rolling fire hazards. 😂 Outside of that, it’s amazing! Love the vids. You guys are awesome!
Love these cheap build videos! Like you said, extension cord SHOULD NEVER BE ADVISED when running appliances like an AC unit (or in general). I'm curious how that drywall holds up, and the cotton candy insulation is a big yikes for me Dawgs. But if you're just using it a few times a year, great! Love how your ceiling turned out too with the stain
Honestly, depending on the gauge and the distance, it's probably fine. Most AC units aren't pulling more than 800w, while 500w and 750w heaters are a thing. Almost all cords can handle at least 1000w. As long as the use a gas camp stove instead of electric, I don't see that thing going beyond that 1000w limit.
Awesome build. The only thing I would have done different was make it a little wider and overhang the bedsides a little more to increase the interior width allowing you to make the beds a little wider. Probably something like a 6-8 inches overhang over each side. Also would have eliminated the window where the TV is so the TV could have been wallmounted higher.

Many times those pallets waiting behind stores are waiting to go back, on a truck, to the store's warehouse to be reused. It can be considered a theft, so people searching for pallets may want to ask first.
I would have made the "camper" part base as you did, but then I would add the couch width on to the outside of the base 100% (instead of narrowing the interior room.) A vehicle can be up to 8 feet wide without a special permit. This would increase the size of the overall space, as well as add more room to maneuver the pickup when backing up to load the camper.
They probably wanted to keep it within the frame of the truck to not block off the side view mirrors since, inevitably, your rear view mirror will be blocked by it. Technically, you could install cameras in the truck to negate the issue but that's a rather large expense for a temporary camper. If you were planning to stay in it longer than a few days though, or even live in it as some have suggested as a solution to homelessness, I'd definitely go with your suggestion and take on the extra expense for the cameras to be safe. Bluetooth cameras mounted on each side of the camper itself could also work as security cameras with the help of an extra screen or tablet so extra bonus points if you invest a bit more. 😀👍 They also didn't mention a source of water drainage from the sink. Or how they plan to have water or power if not on a campground. I mean, you'd need some kind of powerful source of electricity to run that air conditioner off grid (especially with that dark roof) and both a clean and grey water tank, plus some kind of toilet solution for if the weather is bad and you can't just go outside. 😒 Plus, where are you going to put your stuff? 🤔 Yes, you can keep some things in the truck but you're going to want a designated spot for at least a bag of clothes each indoors. Technically, you could have the bags on the floor at night and in the top bunk during the day but that might get irritating moving that every day for long periods of time. 😌 The main problem I, personally, have with the build is lack of privacy. Curtains or blinds on the windows and door, please. Unless you're an exhibitionist, you don't want people staring at you while you change, lol. 😅

Woah, this is amazing! The work put into this tiny back of the truck house is just amazing! I can't believe all of that was less than $1,000! I bet if you added a black water tank and a fresh water tank to it and a toilet in one of the cabinets, you could live on the road using this! :D
Another amazing build. I am genuinely impressed by the craftsmanship behind each of these builds, as well as the increased quality of each video. Keep it up!
I would put a railing on the upper bunk because my brother fell off his while sleeping when he was 16 and wildly messed up his face. Also, a composting toilet would have been a must have for me. Get rid of sink and enclose a tiny bathroom would be my suggestions. For a sink, a plastic tub is all thats needed. I agree with the others about wasted storage under the couch and also installing foldable leg room. Altogether, I absolutely loved watching and the closeness of your family. ❤
With the amount of work they put in it, it's worth at least that much. With material costs taken out, that's less than $2000 per person (two, sometimes three of them working), for probably more hours than a standard 9-5, over quite a timespan. They are skilled builders so their hour of work is worth a relatively high wage too - they could earn well being employed so it doesn’t make sense to go cheap and then have to deal with customers on top of that. So I'd say even knowing the material costs, it's not just something that's worth $5000+, it _is_ worth $5000+
I know my comment is one year too late, but I learned this the hard way. I seal any exterior wood before putting it in place. Lay it all out on the ground and spray what will be the back of the boards. Install them and paint the exterior. No warping and minimal splitting. Cute build, though!

Suggestion: extend the house to the roof of the truck and made there your beds to get more space. Use the same wood pillars to estabilize it. So when you move the truck, you'll have more free space bellow the beds.
@@lucastostes9460 well, supposed that would just be an empty box just large enough for an extra leg room, perhaps putting a piece of rubber pad between the bottom of the extension and the cockpit roof could spread the load and avoid scratches? i have no experience in car modding though 🤷
So, will the weight of it be okay for the truck and how will it secure to the bed to keep it in place during travel and in super windy weather? Looks pretty good so far.
You can do this build and cut the height by 3 feet and put the second bed over the hallway. As it is, the max speed is 60 mph in low wind and you might get stopped by Police

Technically, you could have the bags on the floor at night and in the top bunk during the day but that might get irritating moving that every day for long periods of time. 😌
The main problem I, personally, have with the build is lack of privacy. Curtains or blinds on the windows and door, please. Unless you're an exhibitionist, you don't want people staring at you while you change, lol. 😅
First time seeing this channel & I can say that Im impressed .
Great work from you guys , looking forward to more of these projects
Same
this has to be one of my favorite channels!! I'm all about hard work!!
and although I have CP.. and I can't do this sort of stuff.. (although I would love to) .. my job mostly consists of programming and design.. anyway I love the fact that these dudes are so driven... kudos
God bless you ☦️
This man keeps on giving. Love all the content
Absolutely fantastic! So very classy. Truly styling 🎉 Everything you would need & so very handsome (camper is not bad either). Thanks for sharing the build & details. Oh how I wish I was younger. At 70, & being a lady with very limited building skills looks like that it would have to be another lifetime. Great job! Happy trails. 🍁🍂🐾
Woah, this is amazing! The work put into this tiny back of the truck house is just amazing! I can't believe all of that was less than $1,000! I bet if you added a black water tank and a fresh water tank to it and a toilet in one of the cabinets, you could live on the road using this! :D
Even more LUXURY builds! Let’s goooo Chay 😎😎😎
It looks like something people would pay at least 5k for, it looks so professional, you guys are such good builders
To be honest, I wouldnt call it "luxury", but its truly amazing, and certainly could be.
I know my comment is one year too late, but I learned this the hard way. I seal any exterior wood before putting it in place. Lay it all out on the ground and spray what will be the back of the boards. Install them and paint the exterior. No warping and minimal splitting. Cute build, though!
RUclipsr: this camper is less than $1000!
also the guy's workshop/garage:
Maybe the could have built it at your mom's section 8 house. Her boyfriend could help while he's out on parole.
Chay can literally make anything! So underrated it’s insane 👍
team work is the drame
You guys did a fantastic job. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. You’ve got to have faith. Great video guys. Thanks.

This Channel deserves a million subscribers and likes for the hard work President Chay has put in to Entertaining us Keep up Chay!!!
Your channel growth recently has been insane. Keep up the grind Chay!
My dad would love you guys the way you guys recycled wood off the pallets! Very resourceful keep up the good videos❤
Can you believe they made all this for less than what most iPhones cost these days?
But an iphone is way more powerfull then that camper 😂😂😂
well they don't have to pay for labor since well... they did it themselves
@dolphinhispanic no gouging monthly fees either
Don’t act like the top of the line Samsung doesn’t cost 1k plus and still gets destroyed by an iPhone 12
@notvcs not even an iPhone 14 or 15 can compare to any Samsung fold series or an S23! 😂😂😂 do some research man???
This man deserves a million subscribers for the hard work and dedication he puts in his videos
You could sell these at a high profit margin for sure.
Suggestion: extend the house to the roof of the truck and made there your beds to get more space. Use the same wood pillars to estabilize it. So when you move the truck, you'll have more free space bellow the beds.
And the front of the extension could be made into a shape that is more aerodynamic.
Exactly, I was a little surprised they didnt do that too. Basically making it looking like a fancy camper.
@@Eric-dh5pf Good idea
whats going to support that though? the painted truck roof? just dont worry about the scratching and denting the roof i guess lol
@@lucastostes9460 well, supposed that would just be an empty box just large enough for an extra leg room, perhaps putting a piece of rubber pad between the bottom of the extension and the cockpit roof could spread the load and avoid scratches?
i have no experience in car modding though 🤷
1,000 for materials. 15-20k in labor.
WOW 😳 awesome job guys, congratulations.
Where’s th toilet💀💀
I was hoping when he opened the kitchen cabinet a portable came out
Bruh they use public bathrooms bcz it would take up extra room
At the camp place
@@23nilsDxbit’s called a camp site
That’s literally saying where is the toilet and the tent☠️
So, will the weight of it be okay for the truck and how will it secure to the bed to keep it in place during travel and in super windy weather? Looks pretty good so far.
You can do this build and cut the height by 3 feet and put the second bed over the hallway. As it is, the max speed is 60 mph in low wind and you might get stopped by Police
Great build. If you don’t want your water to taste like a garden hose. Get the white RV hose a huge difference.
This is one of those things that you think, “I want to do that”.
You guys are amazing. I love how you work together and such a good vibe. Wish I had siblings like you guys.
fun to watch the build. it looks nice and comfortable. thanks for sharing.

Awesome job, want more videos 👍🏻👍🏻💖keep it coming, you guys ROCK👍🏻💞
I love these building videos. It’s inspiring and makes me want to learn
Chay, always banger after banger. Thoroughly enjoyed. Would love to see a Kansas trip video. Maybe through in some stats with MPG of the truck with/without the camper, and can weigh it at a truck stop scale for like $12. Keep on keepin on 🤙🏼
And one tip next time you have a bunk bed, make sure the top bunk has railing so you don't fall down when you sleep
