added note: the flush to right edge plan does not work if the key is so long that it's extended into or beyond the original key clamp. in this case, I use 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch cubes of steel as a shim between the magnet and the clamp. place the shim below where the key rides in the clamp, and keep the magnet up so the key point touches it. I use a very strong, flat magnet that came out of a computer hard drive. Remove the shim and manet before cutting.
Thanks for another AWESOME video, this was def the 'KEY' 🙂 to better knowledge, thanks for sharing, i need to watch all your video's, looks like your a clever dude, 😎
on long keys, set the point of the keys flush to the right edge of the key clamp for bothe keys and they will alway match up. I use a magnet at the right edge to butt the key point up against, then remove the magnet after clamping the key, prior to cutting. this speeds up the key clamping tremendously and accurately.
the tip of the key is called the 'tip'. also, the pattern key itself, as in this case, has a 'shoulder'.. though not always.. and even then, it's not a panacea in all cases.
Sorry, but I accidentally deleted your last comment! Damn cell phone app. Yes, I could have left the key alone since the profile was the same. Thanks for watching!
Sure is. I was VERY lucky. If I walked in 5 or 10 minutes later, another person would have gotten their hands on it. Thanks for watching! Be sure to rate thumbs up and share.
I have a simple automatic Chinese horizontal machine model 598B, and lining it up horizontally and correctly(same distance) is pretty challenging. My first Toyota key was bad. I am trying to figure out the best way to line keys up, even using a caliper , but still not perfect yet. I will try to use your touch wheel technique next time. Waiting to receive my order of car key blanks.
Hi Pete. Set the video player to the highest resolution(1080) and freeze the video at 3:00 using full screen mode. You will see all the values and how everything is connected. The red wire on the left connects to 120V (HOT), and the black on the right connects to the white(neutral) of the AC line. The electrolytic cap is connected to the + / - of the bridge rectifier. You take the power to the LED off the capacitor. I have a video playlist showing "Transformerless Power Supplies". .
I have been purchasing blank keys from a local hardware for .75 cents each, some keys with the chips I have been ordering them online from ebay, they are usually $5 to $7 dollars each

Nice find, and nice LED light mod. would you have a schematic for the transformerless power supply? Thanks.

I buy my blanks from eBay sellers.
where does one find these type of stores? Im in pa and im sure they are around just not sure of the correct terminology to find them.
Common names are, "ReStore or Goodwill".
Are you doing this by eye
How did you do that 😳 bought $15.00 ... I like to buy that one too. I am a Locksmith at Los Angeles.
Can you teach me Where ~~ and How ?
Visit goodwill, restore, and other thrift stores. You may get lucky.
Just curious, does it start the car?
Yes, this car does not use a chip key.
Very good find! Thank you for your videos!
you could have just flipped the blank key... both side are the same right?
Correct! The profile on both sides were the same.
Next, you'll have to do a video on how to program chips, or create and program chips.(partly joking) Thanks for the video!
I have one veregood
LOL....why flip the original key?
I didn't have to because the profile was the same on both sides.
