I am now on my second V70, for my voice, it is the best live vocal mic I've tried - and high output too compared to say an SM58. I actually prefer it for recorded vocals to my studio condenser.
My v70 fell out of a non-stock mic clip twice because of the taper of the top and was dead after 50 days. I tried kms105, v50, ksm9. The ksm9 had such little handling noise while still crisp dimensional bass , near-perfect but just not comfortable with belting into it- would be the perfect mic for schools/broadcast application, but a touch too clinical for me. I wanted to find something for bass to mezzo-soprano range, belty soul rock singing. Still nothing like the v70. Hoping the tele M80 will work but if not I'm buying the switch version of the v70 next.
Thanks Anton, your test and ab.. of mic's also so thorough and enlightening...I agree the m88 has deeper bass, clean and natural sound.. However the tgv70 has some upper gain, bump in the highs which gives it that edgy ragged sound and then sometimes with drums and electric guitars that may cut through a bit and give it a cleaner tone.. I guess singing with a band would be the only way to determine that ..and then of course it's all on your sound tech.. Always enjoy your work your illustrations, examples, thanks so much.. Boyd
Hi Anton, can you compare the TG V70d and AKG D5C ? Both of them seems have good low end sound . 25Hz and 20Hz respectively. I am going to use them for singing. Thanks in advance. p.s. : I have a m88 already.
Hey Anton, this isn't very related, but I recall you've had a go with the sev7 and sev7x both, do you know if there's a difference outside of aesthetic between the sev7 and the vintage edition? I wasn't able to find a definitive yes or no about it Cheers
87 noise floor is dramatically higher, and is not studio quality; the 87 overall has a thin sound compared to v70. The only advantage to the 87 is all the wireless options of which beyer currently has none. Beyer mics frequently go out of stock, so that may also be a consideration. 87 and e945 seem similar to me.

Thanks for the comparison, Anton. My V70d is on the way.
Whoo-hoo. Enjoy it
Between V70d and SE Electronics V7, which one do you prefer the sound on your voice?
I’m looking forward to the new sennheiser 435 Vs sennheiser 445 vs sennheiser 431 .. 😀🤙

@@AntonBrowne No worries, ill update if I find out!
Is there much difference between the V70d and the KSM8?
I'm sure there is - from memory. I will find out by demonstration.
