Does that store have an entire second level or just partial?

It used to be offices and a stockroom, however, it now has a department up there as well as offices and stockrooms. There are not escalators, just stairs and this elevator, and presumably, a freight elevator as well.

dea41396returns oh that’s interesting. I’ve never seen that in a Mall department store before

escandelev Some JCPenney's have 1 level stores with offices on a second floor or basement. One example was the short lived store in Hicksville NY, which was open for a few years. It had 1 level but a Dover impulse elevator that went to offices in the basement. Typically such stores have signs on the elevator saying "associates only".

Another example of that is the Monroeville location. The store’s on the 2nd floor, while the offices & stock-room’s on the 3rd. There’s an EcoDisc to get to it. Dick’s is on the 1st.

Looks like a very late MontgomeryKONE mod. 2000?

tkefan29 Many older JCPenney stores from the 1970's & 1980's with Dover, Haughton, Montgomery, Westinghouse, or Otis have been Innovated in the late 1990's or early 2000's when they started to have a contract with KONE and when Montgomery was becoming MontgomeryKONE in 1994 when Montgomery was bought out by KONE. In 1999 MontgomeryKONE dropped the Montgomery name forming KONE. Many JCPenney stores in the 1990's used Montgomery Vector, Dover Impulse, MontgomeryKONE with either Innovation or Series 220, and Schindler MT. My local JCPenney at my local mall has an original Montgomery Vector Hydraulic Elevator that is maintained by KONE since JCPenney stores have a contract with KONE. You’ll notice that JCPenney has a contract with KONE because you’ll notice the door sensors on JCPenney elevators are KONE sensors as they’re labeled on the top "KONE". JCPenney stores do have very interesting elevators though.

I've never seen anything other than Montgomery, Dover, or Schindler 300A

tkefan29 I guess it just depends where you are because in New Jersey where I live you may find some with Haughton, Dover, Westinghouse, Schindler, etc. We do have some unique elevators and varieties of elevators here in New Jersey.
