It had 1 level but a Dover impulse elevator that went to offices in the basement. Typically such stores have signs on the elevator saying "associates only".

In 1999 MontgomeryKONE dropped the Montgomery name forming KONE. Many JCPenney stores in the 1990's used Montgomery Vector, Dover Impulse, MontgomeryKONE with either Innovation or Series 220, and Schindler MT. My local JCPenney at my local mall has an original Montgomery Vector Hydraulic Elevator that is maintained by KONE since JCPenney stores have a contract with KONE. You’ll notice that JCPenney has a contract with KONE because you’ll notice the door sensors on JCPenney elevators are KONE sensors as they’re labeled on the top "KONE". JCPenney stores do have very interesting elevators though.

I've never seen anything other than Montgomery, Dover, or Schindler 300A
