If people are dropping $80k+ on a vehicle, they have no problem paying $3k for a $50 tent.
yeah but they wouldnt be slumming it in a tent like the commoners, they would be more of the 400 a night glamping pods crew
I would, even after spending $80k. If I could afford a $300k vehicle, then maybe I wouldn't bristle at a $3k tent. Maybe
A fool and his money...
not like theyll ever go camping anyways
@@Spawny500 I agree. And it isn’t so much that cyber tent is $3,000, but that it looks like something generic you’d get on Temu for $100. The prototype pictures looked much better than what was delivered.
$3000 for a tent? You can get one at walmart for $70
Guy isn't as smart as a Funko Pop
😂😂 yes absolutely
Same with apple lol
I'll sell ya my twice used Eureka 10x10" tent for $30.
You can get a 2 person tent there for $20-30 actually lol. Though super nice tents can cost about $500 which is a far better deal
$3,000 and couldn't even include an electric air pump?
That’s an exercise device which Tesla has kindly included for free. 😊
Elon didn't think of it because he used his own hot air.
That would run the battery down guy
At that point/price tag - JUST BUY AN ACTUAL CAMPING TENT
After all, you'll need a place to put all the stuff you had in the back of your Tesla truck.
The basecamp is an actual camping tent , one that’s off the ground.

The badge and brand? Lol Tesla is ranked worse in reviews every year. Elona is a joke
This is hilarious… The truck looks stupid, absolutely ridiculous, like something from a low-budget 70s sci fi movie. It costs 50% more than it was supposed to. And now he wants $3000 for a $100 tent. Got to love the Tesla fanboys for buying Elon’s BS.
As they say 'More money than brains'.
They also say “There’s a sucker born every minute”.

Such a gimmick. Another issue is that once the tent is set up you cant drive the car. Same issue with a rooftop tent after it is deployed. For a fraction of the price you can buy a very nice ground tent with as much (or as little) space as you want and still be able to drive your vehicle.
True: about not being able to move the truck while set up. The overlander thinking is that there will be fewer crawly things invading if the tent in or on top of the vehicle. I’m not so sure scorpions and snakes got that memo though.

To be clear, that’s for the tent, not the hideous truck
The hype is fading, just like with Apple.
Only Apple was run by adults pandering to adults with money. Apparently elon's childish antics aren't relating to a long-term relationship
The Cybertruck is so fuc*ing ugly. It's like Homer Simpson designed it.
Why are so down on ol Homer, He could have done alot better
That’s a shameful thing to say about Homer, you underestimate his abilities.
Side note: that “thing” is uglier than sin…
More like Maggie Simpson designed it.
Only genuine idiots would buy that hideous truck. It makes sense that they would work so hard, to convince themselves they did not make a massive financial mistake. If I had that kind of money, I would never accept the poor quality of that tent, as well. A freestanding tent would be superior, in every single way.
Just find a small round tent for a little over $100 bucks and strap that in. May not look as good as the original, but it should work just fine for 30x's less than the Cyber Truck Tent scam.
It’s harder to assemble a tent with poles that will leak in heavy rain. Also don’t want to sleep on the ground, but above the truck bed.
The original doesn't look good....
$3k for a tent... that you pump up manually. Somebody is getting "Pumped" all right.
Reaches the max 8psi in just a few seconds. It’s better than fumbling with tent poles.
😂😂😂😂😂
@starshipdriver8536 It should be automatic, there are many that are well below that price that are not manual. No excuses.
...and the CT has an air compressor for the suspension. The just couldn't bother to make it work with the tent. Probably because it was too complex (sarcasm).
Imagine paying 80 grand to drive an air fryer on wheels 😅
The whole Cybertruck thing is ugly. They minimized car body form manufacturing costs with simplified shapes, reduced additional cost by eliminating paint and marketed it off as future and modern. It is crap, but that is only my opinion.
Accurate
Funko Pop made it ugly so you would think about that instead of recharging every 20 min and new 10,000 dollar bettery after 2 years thats if it didnt catch on fire and explode 1st
Tesla needed to design and build the presses that bend the Cybertruck's steel panels, because a machine that powerful did not exist.
The Cybertruck is still an ugly pos, but I wouldn't say they were trying to minimize cost with that. Leaving the steel unpainted/coated is absurd, but Elon needs to be edgy.
Nope, it’s not just your opinion. It’s shared amongst many. It’s an ugly thing

Tesla POS truck.
For $3000 you can get a regular tent that is basically a small house.
I saw a Sportsman’s Guide catalog listing for a really cool army surplus portable tent/small building which is inflated like kids’ bounce houses. The tent had everything needed including electric inflator for about $1000. It was really nice, though you’d be on the ground instead of in your truck.

FYI, fabric truck bed tents are usually less than $200.. Hardshell rooftop tents are $1k-2k; even the highest RTT in the market is about than $4k, can be set up in a few minutes, and includes a memory form with many features.
It's the same with calling Teslas, 'luxury vehicles.' They are luxury in price only. They have no features, ride like crap, have wind noise, have the build quality of a Yugo, do not get anywhere near their claimed mileage rate, are expensive to insure, chew up tires at about a 3:2 rate, are overpriced, repairs take weeks, supercharging is more expensive than gasoline, driving in the cold, the heat, faster than 60 mph all drive the mileage down considerably. They are a way for rich people to act eco-friendly and egocentric while doing nothing at all green. Add in the billions of dollars spent by consumers for a Full Self Driving system that does not and never has worked, the phantom braking issues that they cannot fix, and the shine is finally wearing off.
