Mine became a casualty. He couldn’t hold his service weapon. The fingers eventually broke off after using them. Then you have a GI Joe with a disability. Amputated fingers. 😢 GI Nub. 😭
Yes! The palm is too skinny, and the vertical texture lines are worthless! As soon as I got mine out of the cool packaging and into my hand, i was immediately disappointed.
I find 10°-14° angle to be optimal for my wrists when using a _compact_ platform. Obviously this varies from person to person. However, the science remains the same. In fact, the biomechanics behind various grip angles is actually quite fascinating. It can also be a rabbit hole. You quickly discover why the A2 grip was adopted. Which gives you even a greater perspective into the world of grip angles and even the doctrine at that time. Nevertheless, grips and muzzle devices are my preferred products for experimentation when it comes to parts and accessories. I find that those two items tend to produce the most dramatic results when you interchange them. They [grips, muzzle devices, etc.] are the equivalent of bolt-on performance parts for your hot rod. Compared to the gains when building the internals of your motor/firearm. [IE - BCGs, barrels, buffers, etc.] Great presentation as always, Caleb. Stay classy my friends.
I have enjoyed undercut trigger guards on my 1911s, and I bemoaned the lack of a similar solution for the AR platform. This looks like it might just what I am looking for.
@@CrashRacknShoot I have that BCM Mod 2 on two rifles. It isn't too bad on the updated lower, but could be better. It causes a low hold (for me) on the old style lower. Arthritis is the problem requiring an undercut.

Curious how this compares to the Edgar Sherman Design Granite grip, which I’m really liking so far. My hands are roughly L sized for gloves or slightly smaller.
I installed one on one of mine and at first blush, didn't care for it a whole lot, but it's probably just because I'm used to something like a Magpul K2+, which I like much better. But I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Driven Arms Co’s CZ Shadow 2 Grip Adapter with some aluminum LOK Palm Swell grip panels is my favorite grip. I also love Driven Arms Co.’s ULCG (Gen 2). I have one of them on my .300BLK SBR.
I am more interested in the belt box that was on the 2nd rifle. I need to go to the Brownells YT archive to see if that has already been covered and I missed it.
How does the grip angle compare to Magpul K2, BCM Gunfighter, B5, etc - all those other grips that are more vertical?🤔 If we stop putting A2 grips on everything, then it's not an M16 anymore, so it's not a machine gun. Maybe we can convince them that more vertical pistol grips keep the cyclic rate on bump stocks below 600 rounds a minute, if using the 200 round magazine.😉😂😂😂 If we start calling suppressors "un-loudeners", do you think we can keep them?😁
They ain’t taking our un-loudeners! Not now that they shortened up the approval times and thus added a whole bunch of enthusiastic new owners to the cool kids club!
Not enough leverage when driving the gun forward from a low or high ready. Hurts the wrist I think the angle is too much. I THINK (I’m no industrial designer or engineer) a reduction in degrees of angle and a small palm swell could help. With the grip so straight up and down I felt all the weight of the rifle pulling forward in my hand, as though it really wanted to roll the grip forward and out. You’re definitely on to something good, and again I’m not an expert but I just really don’t see how this is comfortable for higher round counts. I saw that Kit Badger had run this pretty hard on platforms of different sizes but he is a fairly rugged guy anyways. Idk could also just be a case by case thing. I just no I wanted to love it and after a few range sessions and dry fire drilling it had to go.

I dig em. Some guns don't quite feel right depending on the trigger guard. They're shorter than magpul enough to feel it and a bit fatter. The middle finger groove is surprisingly comfeh. Cozy even
I found the ergos with the finger groove really weird. My hand feels more comfortable with Edgar Sherman Design, BCM, Reptilia, Thrip, etc. Would love to see a future version of the Kung Fu grip without the finger groove
I'm gonna do an honest review. This grip induces palm fatigue. It's a very uncomfortable angle, heavy on the palm, and the bottom of the grip digs into your pinky. The finger grove makes no sense unless you have short fingers. My average size finger is too long to fit inside the grove. It leaves a hollow gap that's harder to hold on to. I really wanted to like this grip, but it ended up being the most uncomfortable grip I own.
It looks cool. Thats about it. I picked one up to complete my new build. Its not convincing and doesnt feel right. The palm swell is thinner than the front (finger) part of the grip. Very unnatural and uncomfortable grip. Oddly enough, the grip feels better when I hold it backwards! Perhaps its meant for bench rested shots. For drills and training that require moving, reloads and one hand manipulation its horrible. Ive had it installed for just a few days and already ordered a BCM Mod3 grip for a couple bucks less… go figure. The only good I can find in this grip is aesthetics and the 12° angle… This grip is going in the spare parts bin only to be forgotten of…

I don’t like mine. Why is the front of the grip where your fingers wrap around it wider than the back where your palm sits? It’s backwards and uncomfortable. Also, the texture on the back sucks. It needs to be way more aggressive like the sides and front to provide more leverage when the gun must be held up with one hand. The grip angle and cool aesthetic are all this has going for it IMO. Get the Thril RTG instead.
