I saw a male menehune on the island of Kaua'i a long time ago. I was walking alone on a path to the edge of the forest at 3,00 feet elevation. As I walked, my mind was fairly empty of busy thoughts. All of a sudden I looked up and to my right where I met the gaze of a single menehune. We held each other's gaze until I started to think about what I was seeing and how I was able to see him. As soon as I began thinking, he vanished. I then checked to see if I had been seeing something based upon the shadows and branches of plants, etc., but I saw nothing to suggest the little man. He was for real and I felt blessed to have been able to have his darshan.
Nt knew so many tales and true stories of beautiful Kauai. Will miss seeing her beautiful smile and miss her knowledge and wisdom of our beautiful island. “ Rest in Peace and Love”
Wow. I was hooked on her storytelling. I totally forgot where I was. The Menehune remind me of the Pigmies or the Twa peoples, similar histories. Fascinating beautiful share from an eloquent Auntie!
Learning about these various cultures experiences and teachings with "other beings" is enlightening and exciting for my spirit! Thank you 🤗 I'm a bit obsessed
I remember at my uncles house in Kauai, every night he would leave food out for the menehune and tell us that they would leave dew on the plants and leave rocks for thanks. One morning we saw bread eaten, flowers bloomed, and 4 medium sized rocks stacked on top of each other. Nice little guys the menehune are
It was 8-9pm and we was playing in the bedroom, when we heard what sounded like kids laughing and footsteps up to the window. We watched as a face the size of a softball pressed itself against the screen. Brown wrinkled face. As we stared it began to laugh but it was raspy which made my sister scream and run and we followed. Grandfather explained what it was

I thought the W only made a V sound if it was was in the middle part of a word. and a Y sound at the beginning of a word. hmmm maybe only in kauai? lol
I was told menehunes were descendants of the gods, therefor the indigenous people of Hawai'i nei, when the polys, Tahitian people came, they brought the manehunes different from the menehunes.
I expect DNA testing will sort out the distinct Polynesian and non-Polynesian contributions to Hawaiian bloodlines, before long. The more people get tested, the more surprises turn up. Sometimes family legends are vindicated, more often there are surprises in store.
Ten thousand voices in the grove are chanting: "Veil in, veil out!" The spirits of the dead are dancing. I look upwards, here, around me. All is unaltered, and undamaged majesty of humanity. Stained glass, there, shows darkly, Spiders have added to their webs. The ink is dry: the paper is yellow, some people dream in estranged beds. But everything is still in its place: Except the Marxists left with the Demons of Sorrow. Flaunting themselves as professors in a realm ablaze. Lost in the quiet dew drops of the Spring. Lost to the Demon they made King.
The Menehune were the original inhabitants of Hawaiian islands. The war-like Tahitians (Kanaka Maoli) came eventually (exact dates are unclear) and either slaughtered the Menehune, or sent them fleeing to other islands.

I understand the last community of Menehune was way back in Wainiha Valley..
This is the exact same story of Leprechaun in Ireland. Maybe it was the TWA people of North Africa. They were seafaring for 20000 years.
Look next door at other seafaring people who are small in stature.
