Yes guys, this vlog should have been a Friday Catch Up vlog but it turned out to be something different 😕 So, the day started normally with a catch up from me about the week and our plans for the day, but the day went wrong when I took Joseph and Toby down to our local beach to practice with our DJI mini drone 😣 So, during our drone flying, an out of control dog ran straight for Joseph and would not stop jumping at him and on top of that it took one of his shoes and decided to chew it up sending Joseph into a MELTDOWN!! Can I just say that both Zoe and I love dogs and we know that most dog owners are fantastic but there are always those that let you down as this owner had ZERO control over the dog and could not care less about it scaring Joseph half to death!!! 😠 The whole episode was caught on camera guys and i'm happy to say Joseph is fine now 🙂 We really hope you enjoy the video, thank you for your support x

Ben don’t apologize for ranting,I totally agree with you,here dogs are not allowed on the beach certain times a year and even then they have to be on a leash,in fact they have to be on a leash at all times when in public areas except in designate dog parks,also it is a law to pick up their messes,there are fines if you’re caught. Dogs are unpredictable,even family pets,a six week old baby was killed just recently mauled by their family dog so you can never never trust them! By the way I really like your hair🥰🇨🇦

My daughter is 17 and always had a fear of dogs. It makes me angry when people assume that by telling you their dog won't hurt you that it makes it ok. My daughters fear is so bad that if we see a dog coming toward us on a lead she will move to the other side to avoid being near it at all. This fear all started when she was chased by a dog as a young child because she had a ball.
Hope wee Joseph is ok, he was so upset and upsetting for you too Ben and Toby. Toby was doing a great job with the drone. Really hope it didn’t spoil the day for Joseph. Enjoy rest of weekend, weather has been beautiful today 🏴❤️

I agree it wasnt dangerous but obviously unpredictable from the shock in womans face and jo jo screamed and because he has additional learning needs he wouldnt understand not to scream ( its a human response when we are scared) and how does she know her dog wouldn’t bite if she wasn’t expecting it to jump at a kiddy? Thats the thing we dont know , whether the dog was dangerous or not it was totally unacceptable and it was the owners fault xx👩🏻🦰
Sweet Joseph was traumatized by the dog, it was so sad hearing him scream in terror. I’m glad he’s doing better. I’m so grateful that we have only certain beaches that allow dogs and you can’t leave poo anywhere. I also appreciate our leash laws for dogs to prevent things like this from happening.

@@mariannetuite7411 I don’t think they meant any harm to Joseph and it was footage from the drone so he didn’t know he was being filmed. It was a snippet of what happened to open careless pet owners eyes to the trauma their animals can cause.
This family adores their children and the children clearly love each other too.

I have a shih tzu, dogs down our way West Sussex are not allowed on the beach certain months especially in the summer, is it different where you are? The Lady should have apologised to you.
Great job Toby! I’m so sorry Joseph was traumatized by the dog. Dogs shouldn’t be loose on the beach! People should be cleaning up their dog’s poo. Surely there should be an ordinance against this.

My daughter is autistic and she’s now a teenager. When she was a young child I had similar experiences. It’s frustrating, upsetting and really hard to explain.
As far as dogs are concerned I grew up with a dog and there have been dogs in my family for generations.
Dogs should never be off leads unless they have recall, unless on private property.

It depends. You have to train the dog to not jump on people and do that kind of thing. And then if they are off the leash it’s ok. But people don’t want train their animals. Yes the dog just was excited but they need to the trained not to jump on people

Have to say I feel the exact same . My little boy is petrified of dogs and people say when there dogs comes running up to him my dogs fine he won’t bite he’s friendly , that’s ok to say but my child is so scared of them and these people just let there dogs jump on my child . It’s not on ! Keep them on leads if they cant behave themselves!
Dogs should be kept on leads, if they can't come to you when called. l agree very traumatizing for a little boy 😮

All dogs should be on lead in place like that even if they are great at coming back they can change quick. We have massive lead so are dog can have feel off being free but we still have control.
So sorry for Joseph it’s terrible when they are terrified like that, you just can’t console them. I have had dogs all my life and if any of them didn’t come back when called were on a lead. Plus when out you can gauge if a child is frightened and take a wide berth.

Well done Toby on your first drone effort - very good footage! Poor little Joseph - really scary thing to happen. I don't blame you, Ben and Zoe, for having a bit of a rant. I was bitten on the face by a corgi when I was 3 (in a chemist shop of all places! Mum was able to get cream for the wound immediately.) I didn't develop a phobia concerning dogs, but to this day I much prefer cats! On another note, I really like your kitchen. It is fairly small, but looks smart with all the black appliances. Poor Joesph :( to the comment about him not screaming and crying at the dog jumping up at him you have tim understand firstly he is a child with a fear of dogs, secondly the dog was a trigger to him, both sensory and fear, neurodiverse children cannot control their emotions like other children, its fight or flight! It takes time and transtion for Joesph, as Ben said in the vlog they want to help him over time to get over his fear but situations like this unfortunatly happen and knock/set Joseph back.
I'm so sorry this happened to Joseph. I was chased by a dog when I was little and had to run into a strangers garden to get away. I'm still terrified of dogs and I'm 47 now. x

I've got a dog but I was so angry with that woman. We always clears up his mess. I just hope it hasn't put Joseph back as he was getting on so well. A similar thing happened to me when a dog came flying up to my dog. I picked him up and this jumped up on me and made me filthy and the woman didn't even say sorry. It freaked my dog out that he won't go to that place anymore. Xx

Did you even watch the video. Ben clearly stated that they've been working with Joseph to help him overcome his fear of dogs in numerous ways. An irresponsible dog owner who had no control over her dogs is the only one at fault. Quit trying to make this a little boys fault. The woman's attitude clearly shows this wasn't a one off for this dog. Good job on the drone footage Toby.

I have exactly the same with dogs- we've had so many bad incidents with bad recall. Owners just seem to think everyone loves their dog jumping at them.

Zoe , i have that Starbucks drink from asda . We are exactly the same with clubs and competitions 😂. Poor Joseph weve had a few altercations with dogs because we live in the uk by the coast. Hope he is okay and you've all had a fabulous weekend for Agnes birthday ❤xxx

That is totally disrespectful. Behaviour of that dog owner here in Australia. Your dogs have to be restrained at all times in public places beaches parks unless it’s a dog park dog park. Poor little guy I hope he’s okay big hugs Joseph.😢💕

That was horrifying to see how frightened Joseph was. I hope he is okay.
The dog was playful and excited, but of course should have been on a leash as clearly the dog owner hasn't got control, and would have known the dog's behaviour when excited. To add insult to injury, the dog thought Joseph's new croc was a chew toy! Irresponsible dog owner should ensure her dog is fully trained before allowing off leash.
I noted that as soon as the dog ran up, you immediately grabbed hold of Joseph by the back of his top as a protective response.
Bloody dogs should be on leads all the time. Poor Joseph, he was traumatised, I'm not surprised l would be too. Some owners are dam ignorant, you should have taken her name and reported her as she had no control over those dogs, crazy woman😠

Poor Joseph. I was scared of dogs as a kid it was the unknown so I don’t blame him when he keeps having bad encounters he won’t be sure to trust them or not. How hyper they were I doubt yous were the first as-well.

Awww i feel bad for Joseph. Many children have fear of dogs or cats. Since he wont be able to avoid dogs maybe you could take him to a pet shop where he could see puppies and maybe he could play with one. I would try to get him to conquer his fears in that way. As a dog owner i always keep my dog on a leash.
Dogs hear kids screaming they think it's play time Most mean no harm but they should be on leads at times when kids are on beach unless well trained. Maybe you could visit or foster from the RSPCA to acclimate Joseph to smaller dogs . rather than take one on full -time. Joseph is beautiful he just couldn't cope. That is fine. Thank God the dog didn't bite him. The lady should buy Joseph new Crocs and apologise to Joseph.

I work with kids, took a group of them to the playpark recently. 2 dogs running riot off the lead 🤬 just so wrong. No way should they be loose in a kids playpark. Irresponsible owners at their finest 🙄🤦🏼♀️

I enjoyed the drone footage that you did well done to you and Paul Joseph that lady should be ashamed of herself that Paul little boy was enjoying himself and that dog came for him scared the living daylights out and she just walked past and she did and she sees, that Joseph is in distress and then the dog took his crock which cost money and chewed it up. Well I’m sorry you should name in shame her you know because you do a lot of hard hard work with Joseph and he likes the beach now and it’s not fair on him it’s not fair and that lady should be disgusted with herself, you know she shouldn’t have dogs if she can’t look after them I don’t mean to be rude or speak out of place but I just think it’s disgusting. You know that when you have a son that needs a little bit of help and you do all this hard hard work and I’ve seen your videos where he enjoys going to the beach and enjoys going to the woods and one thing can stop it all and you have to restart again anyway as always a great video and as I said I don’t mean to talk out a place. In my area dogs are not allowed on the beach between May to October. I hope Joseph is ok.

Springer spaniels are bad for being energetic and excitable and she should have know that and recalled it, I would have been so apologetic and given my phone number to check on Joesph later.
And I do think dogs shouldn't be allowed on beaches ( just my opinion) or there should be a time restriction on them being on there.

I've never liked springer spaniels inparticular myself. My Aunt when she was alive 10 plus years ago had a total of 3 Cocker Spaniels, two of which were complete fruitloops, one very excitable, one not as friendly as her litter mate and sister who she lived with until her demise at around 13, 14 years old. They grew up with her first 3 children, then my Aunt got the 3rd Spaniel when her youngest 4th child had just started School. My cousin whose the youngest of the older 3 children, just got a Sprocker which is a cross between the cocker and springer spaniel. She's the biggest fruitloop spaniel dog our family's probably ever had, never keeps still, goes after food, jumps around, runs around, she doesn't really bark very much, thank god, but my fairly elderly Labrador remembers her getting in his space and in his face as a 10 to 12-week-old puppy, so he hides under the legs of anybody whose not sitting too close to where Posy, of all the daftest names my cousin gave her, is holding court. Posy? excuse me? she is anything but, a bunch of flowers personalitywise if not featureswise, which is why she was named Posy, but she totally belies her name. I nickname her Bella, short for Bellatrix under my breath. My Uncle has two mad Lab Bernese mountain crosses or, Labbernese, both of whom didn't know their own strengths, big black and white furry monstrossities. I have a photo of my Lab when he was 6, running with the older of the two Labbernese when she was only 6 months old. She was just too much for him, far too loony, so he tackled her and toppled her in a patch of sand where they had been playing Tag in the local woods where I live. So long as you don't, scream, wave, jump up and down, flail your limbs, ie, stand like a tree or sit like a tree, very very still, dogs will hopefully, lay off you and ignore you. I know it’s hard if they're bouncing or jumping up, but they will think you're boring and won't bother you if you don't give them anything to bother you about. I used to scream if dogs jumped or bounced me when I was about Joseph's age. My ^mum got a Retriever puppy when I was around 4 and she jumped up until mum took her to obedience and agility classes and she more or less stopped jumping up altogether, but she respected that her jumping at me scared me when something winded me then it was gone, then it happened again, then it was gone again. Small dogs generally, will always jump up, no matter how trained they are, so I'm careful even now, to give them a wide berth whereever possible.
I don’t like wasps but I can’t imagine if I was scared of something as big as a dog. He must be terrified.
I am sorry to hear about Joseph. I don't like dogs either. I would not have a dog myself.
in Canada were I live you are not allowed to have a dog out in public without being on a leed.....I have 2 rescue dogs both are unruly God Bless them....they too have trauma and triggers...for that reason our dogs are always kept on a very short leed and well restrained around strangers.....they also wear vests that say "not to pet".....I understand Joseph's fear......I was like it as a child...I still don't like strange dogs approaching me.......we never leave the house without multiple poop bags...

It makes me so cross that the dogs are so out of control, poor Joseph I feel his anguish. These dogs should never be off a lead!! When I was 6 a German Shepard puppy knocked me off my bike and started jumping all over me. I hated dogs and would always cower behind my parents screaming & shouting. Even in later life I was never confident when dogs even docile ones were around. My daughter finally gave me confidence to get our first dog a moodle 5 years ago when I was age 55. We love her dearly. I hope Joseph is feeling a little better & is able to have some positive contact with better behaved dogs. I regret not having dogs sooner. 🤗🤗❤️

That’s awful poor Joseph we have a dog who isn’t very good on recall but we wouldn’t dream of letting her off lead she goes out quite a few times a day but never off lead and my husband never goes out without bags hope Joseph gets over the scare thinking of him it’s terrible when pet owners don’t look after their pets properly no consideration for anyone else xx
Unfortunately some dog owners don’t care I have two dogs who are never off their leads I always think how can they control them and clean up after them if needed when off the lead and because Joseph was screaming and running around the dog thought it was a game but that woman is a disgrace and gives dog owners a bad name I hope he is ok now

one of my daughters at 3 years old had a small friendly dog jump up at her and she has been afraid of dogs ever since. Kids don’t know they are being friendly. Most adults don’t like a dog jumping on them!! Some dog owners are Sooo ignorant. I hope Joseph will keep going to the beach with you. He’s such a darling boy.

Ben I have two dogs and they come back to me when I call but I would never let them off the leads when I am in public places. I don't think it is fair on others, I love dogs but I am afraid of dogs that I don't know and there is plenty of people like me so that is why I never let my dogs off their leads. I don't blame poor Joseph being terrified, poor little mite I hope this will not undo all the great work ye have done to get him this far going to the beach and woods. That lady knows what her dog is like so she should never let it off the lead. The worst part is, she never apologized once she had her dog under control she could have approached you to say sorry and see if Joseph was ok. Some people! I'm a dog owner and really feel for Joseph. I always put my dog on a lead when passing young children and picnics as it's easier to avert an adverse situation than to try and deal with the chaos. Arm yourself with a small water squirter bottle with you for such situations. It won't harm the dog but it may distract it enough for it to retreat. If Joseph can see that the situation is controllable then he may not be so scared. Unfortunately we now live in a world where everyone is expected to be tolerant of the entitled actions of others. Re. dog poop, film those that don't pick up and refer the film to your local authority.
It’s not illegal to let a dog poop. Yes people should clean up after the dog. But I don’t think it’s illegal
@@nancyfarkas3592 The local authority have a duty to act if it's in the interests of public health. Signs, bins, threat of fines should be there as a reminder.
You need to get the council to make a designated dog walking area. And dog beach
