- How to re-use a grenade using small pistol primers, a match, and cannon fuse.
For those who can't get the phosphorus/matchhead priming mix to work, and can't handle a 209 primer, the best alternative that is proven the most reliable in my own experience is to use a small pistol primer (same thing that the grenade fuze was originally primed with anyway).
You will have to use a sub-igniter (like a white match head) but it will always work if you learn to do it correctly. What is critical is the size of the match head, the cannon fuse is angle-cut, and the primer is seated right and spaced just above the match head/fuse.
::::::::::::::::::::: WARNING :::::::::::::::::::::
DO NOT use this to manufacture detonator-train type devices, HE devices, or especially flash powder/binary explosives. You can never seal the fuse from the composition 100% so you run the risk of premature ignition. I hereby absolve myself from holding any responsibility for your actions in perpetuity until the end of time. Vid is for info purpose only and for when the time comes you need to kill yourself...
I did this 30+ years ago @ University. I used small rifle primers, and ALWAYS rolled the "Visco" in an epoxy mixture, before pushing it into the body of the grenade fuze. I fired prolly a hundred or so- just threw them out the window (until the neighbor told us to "stop throwing firecrackers!") Never had one mis-fire. :)
anybody else see the subliminals
It looked like mr Roger's wearing a clown mask for the 1st one

Are there faces popping up.or im just going crazy?????
What are you talking about?
both. ...
Hahaha 308wadcuter
ya i see them too
0:38 It's Mr Rogers with a clown mask on.
Lol those faces were tripping me out at first.... Lol
People have many reasons and that includes me as to why. This is what keeps this country free.
I’ve got a question for ya, is it a smart idea to make ventilation hole (say maybe a tiny hole somewhere around where the primer seats) to ensure there is enough oxygen for my specific time delay? I have read somewhere that it’s possible to have a premature instant detentions if not proper ventilation is made when using non-smokeless gun powder in your time delay fuse train. I want to get your thoughts and recommendations.
Use heavy cardboard, brass, aluminum tubing to cover the fuse to the detonator. The fuse MUST be protected or your problems are over 2 seconds after you throw it.
DO NOT put explosive powder in your tubes, this is for novelty or smoke devices, etc...
Great comment.
@@TenThirtyTwowhat happens if you do???
00:14? 00:32? 00:38? 1:03? 1:46? 2:55? 4:10? 5:16? Anyways, thanks for this information, I definitely found it useful! I just need to get the primers and fuse, what kind of primers were those? Just "pistol" primers? Thanks
This guy's clearly worships Satan and wants your soul. I suggest you never return to this channel
Yeah, right! What's up with that kid? Kinda scary tho
I wanted to make some badass pyro stuff for fourth of july but with Mr. Rogers looking like John Wayne Gacy I think I'll just make some home defense stuff with them to put under my bed and sleep on the couch!
😂 I love it 😂😂😂
Be aware that hobby fuse burns faster when it is contained. Some products exploit this phenomenon.
Leader pipe, for example, is designed to increase the burn rate of your fuse by increasing the back pressure on your fuse.
Fuse in leader pipe burns 5x to 10x faster.
If you fray the end of the fuse that butts up against the primer it will ignite every time. BTW: I love the subliminall messages! Nice touch!
Have you actually tested this?
In Vietnam helicopter door gunners use to put the grenades into glass jars that held the spoon down until the jar broke due to the fall from height then, the grenade would fuse. That would be a way around the unpredictable fuse time of the presupposed grenade fuse.
In Vietnam when the US troops would burn down huts to try and smoke out the Vietcong sometimes they'd come across grenades that were taped or covered with rubber bands over the spoons, the fire would melt them in hopes of killing nearby troops watching the fire or creating the fires
Not true, the nva and VC would use grenades in glass jars as booby traps when walking through door ways, ya mamaluke!
I crewed a helicoper in VN what fool would put a iron grenade in a jar with the pin out and fly around and jolt hard landing and the grenade would break the jar..what a crock..or some really dumb grunt..some VN troops carryed grenades in jars in the field..dont think for long..you usually are under fire intill needing a grenade meaning hitting the dirt and breaking the jar blowing your self up....iron balls in glass jars dont get along at all, Gomer
Yea, I saw that on an 80s TV show. Can't remember it's name but that's where your getting that from
Surplus stores, eBay and Amazon, carry them as well. I just bought 5 complete fuse's with the spring and hammer for $21
?
@@user-ps6yk6vw5omnow 1 fuse assembly is minimum $15 on amazon, and they're hard to find.
how did you get those grenade fuses? I really need one for my grenade shells at least. send me a link to where I can actually get one of those fuses with a grenade striker built in cuz I really don't know how.
They sale them every where just look up fuse head grenade inert and buy a spring kit for the grenade
Make sure you glue the fuze into the tube, put lots of glue on the fuze before you pull it through. The thing I am concerned about is that the primer could shoot the burning fuze right through the tube, and set off the thing immediately.
*Make sure you smell the glue also, like probably do what I do and put it in a paper bag open with your face down in it and breathe in the fumes for maybe a half hour or until you almost blackout.*
The first intelligent comment I saw. If a primer pushes a 9mm Fmj half way down the barrel a little glue isn’t stopping the blast
@@TenThirtyTwo Well i use Chinese 1/4 time fuse and work very well, if you are worry of sparks going in the compound .i use smoke M83/M84 grenade modified flash bang with 5 grams nitrate flash. be safe if anyone makes this.

Can you use red cap gun bullets instead of primer? Would it still ignight the fuse?
Red/ yellow 8sh size caps with a small "booster" of blackmatch/ paper fuse works fine. Insert a small piece of plastic tubing inside the cap to act as the anvil, makes the cap a lot louder too. Thick BP visco lights as well. Consider using fuze tubes and ramming spoletta's out of BP for a solid passfire to the maincharge. As others said before me, don't let the primer blast the fuse through. Great fun with crackling balls during a airsoft match, realism and light enough not to cause harm.. Flash or BP charges... not so much. Rather keep my fingers.
Nail gun blanks use Nitrocellulose/ Nitroglycerin, not only are they incredibly hard to strike reliably, they detonate with enough force to blow the aluminium alloy fuze into bits. Primers fly away as well, if the primer pocket is too loose. Be safe.
Even small pistol primers seem a little louder than a real grenade primer. Is there a lighter primer that can still ignite the fuse? also my fuse lasted about 1.5 - 2 seconds before it combusted the small charge i had put in it. I used a match head on the tip of my American made cannon fuse. I have an idea on how to delay it a little. I was just wondering if you had any suggestions before i made my own attempt
Not all small pistol primers are equal strength. It varies by brand. Russian primers tend to be the least powerful. Wolf and Tulammo both sell (or did) Russian primers for reloading that have much less power than American primers.
the crazy clown comments are gold....I love it man, great video haha
the faces are really cool. I can not slow them down....
No
Can we use small pistol primers........
0.13 no one gonna talk about the black and white pic of the special kid
I have 1000 #11 precussion caps and they wont set off.Are the primers easy to ignite?
so after i use it once do i have to keep drilling out the primers each time and you should show us the smoke grenades
Has anyone else noticed that the clown in the pic is Mr.Rogers wearing a mask?
yes
Won't you be my vict-uh, neighbor
Watch what kind of fuses you use though. American visco burns clean. The Chinese stuff throws more sparks in my experience and both probably burn hot enough to melt through a thin plastic straw anyway. In general make it a habit of using cardboard and not any plastic that can carry a static charge.
@ 3:46 | Never cook any kind of explosive. Actual grenade fuses are rated at 2-5 seconds, great way to get blown up.
Best to leave alone. Anvil falls out quite often unless pocket is prepared properly.
MK Ultra program on this video with the creepy mr rodgers clowns?
Ive done this many times with lil gun powder and duct tape charges. Usually the primer blows the fuse out the tube setting off the charge by your hand..it is NOT a delayed fuse..mine arent.. very dangerous if some fool fills the grenade with powder..😨😵💀👻any one know how to make a real delay fuse?,..

Where do you buy these primers & Grenade fuse assembly ?
You can get primers almost anywhere as long as retards aren't panic buying everything up. The assemblies you usually find at gunshows and other similar venues.
Where do you find the detonators? Fake grenades have them?
+watchguy79 Detonators are controlled devices you can not own unless you have a commercial license for them and are engaged in the business of demolitions.
+TenThirty-Two you can get the hammer assembly on eBay for like 6 bucks so it must be legal to have it as long as you don't try to stick in a fuse and primer and what not
KTM And Thangs What you describe is not a detonator, it's a mechanical actuator which is legal...yes.
Thanks for making me thing that I am schizophrenic.
great vid i wasthinking of thergd 5 fuzes .how do they work???
I used to do this in highschool😂
You're grounded!
Could you use hot glue to fill in the space around the fuse? That seems like itd seal the fuse from the secondary pretty well.
It tends to extinguish the fuse. NC lacquer works better.
@@destruxxx candle wax?

Yes I incidentally was referring to the other video when I said that. You over drilled the hole a little. Also I wanted to mention- is who sells them WITH the Spring and Ill ignorantly call it the "hammer" on the grenade? All I ever found it was taken out. We had to MAKE one and used a clothes pin spring and cotter pin or barrel pin. Im very tired atm. Get back to me on that.thanks
search for "m228 spring kit" on ebay
have you tried magnum primers?
Lol no but I tried Armstrong's Mix in aluminum foil folded together and blew my arm off fhjrhfritrbgibtrgjntr;iunhn,d
what i do is drill the channel the apropriet diameter of the fuse i have, knock out the primer with a small punch, replace with pistol primer, j&b weld the fuse in the channel. no need for mach head. I get reliable 4 second delay.
When the primer pocket wheres out, drill it with the same diameter of the head of a .223 shell. you cut the back end of that casing and swage/glue it in the grenade fuse. now you have a new pocket primer.
good stuf a iot cheper i like it thank you but whats up with the flash of the crazy pitchers cant make it out tryed to go frame by frame but cant git it werd hu.
why are there so many random images
What’s with the flashing clown pictures?
solder wire delay?
Even small pistol primers blow through unless the top of the fuse well is vented with a hole drilled through it. Then they work fine. Shotgun primers will not only blow through they will blow a 5.56 case crimped to the bottom of the fusewell off with enough force to dent a steel bucket. Ask me how I know. Grenade primers are weaker than pistol primers and the delay composition is pressed in with a lot of force which is why you have to drill it out after it's burned.
Yes the only real fix I've seen for this is there's a company that makes a heavy brass tube that threads to the bottom of the m228 assembly and the brass piece contains a 1/8" ID channel for the fuse, and has a threaded cap on the tip with vent holes. The cap retains the fuse and there is an internal collet that stops blow-through. You place a priming comp in the cap. The issue remains with the primer being too strong though, as it then blows the primer out of it's pocket and the sparks from the fuse shower out of the top.
Just saw the faces blip at 4.09, it's Pope Benedict surrounded by clowns with a lion over his head, no idea the intention on that one, otherwise a decent vid for reloading a fuse for a smoke grenade.
Please let me know if there is more splices then the 3 which I took a photo of
There are none. You took the blue pill.
@@TenThirtyTwo so there are no pictures?
OK so, reusing grenade parts...ahh, and h..wha..a grenade, that has exploded, you want to reuse parts from? Im missing something.
The grenade primers are a lot less powerful compared to regular primers..

I will have to experiment with these ideas. I had put a small charge of pistol powder in for my first test... the bitch sounded like a .45 sooo i wont be putting that much in anymore. Thank you for the reply! I'll be back if i have anymore questions. Safety glasses on! :)
Very valuable information, 1776! Oh and no background checks either.
I use a black powder #11 Nipple and primer. There a little drilling and threading or you can epoxy in place. It fires everytime and has no anvil n shit to fall out. (For the Pistol Size Hole) I never seen a large one like you shown.
I was thinking the same thing

Whats with Mr. Rodgers the clown?
Scary frikkin mother-in-law pics,,,
Could you use rifle primers?
Probably. People say the shotprimers blow through but mine go up instead (?) but rifle primers might not blow through if they are regular and not magnum ones. Pistol ones work better.
NO. Even small pistol primers are really too powerful without sealing and venting if you want a delay. If you want them to work without blow through seal the fuse in the fuse well AND vent the fuse well with a small hole at the top to let the combustion gases escape. Grenade primers are a specialized low power primer NOT a small pistol primer as people seem to mistakenly believe and grenade fuze train mix is a powdered and compressed Zirconium/Nickel mixture that limits the combustion gases produced. It is not even remotely similar to visco fuse although bickford fuse was reportedly used in the original MKII. There were blow by problems which resulted in a redesign.
sadeyedangel They all blow through without sealing and venting because they are all more powerful than grenade primers and visco fuse produces more combustion gas than the zirconium/Nickel mix used in OEM manufacture. The fact that your primers blow out the top is an obvious sign that the pressure above the fuse column is WAY too high.
Richie Lane Hmm. My pistol primers are all fine.
Exactly what you should use is a 22 short
Whats with the pictures?
What about time fuse used in aerial firework! shells??
this is something I'm inventing on the spot, get a glass bottle, melt lots of hot glue in a big pot, have a tray full of BB's screws, nuts, rocks sitting nearby. dip the glass bottle as far in as you can in hot glue, roll the bottle in the tray of metals and rocks while it's still hot, let it dry, fill it with gun powder, seal the bottle with a bottle cap, but cut a hole big enough for your fuse to go through, then put tape over the bottle cap until ready to use. to use it get a fuse at least 12 inches long. make sure at least 1.5 inches of fuse touches the gunpowder

The risk of setting that Grenade off instantly cannot be reduced to under 99.96% using primers for ignition. The amount of duds would be ten or 20 to 1 if I was to guess.
