There's several levels of pride. I believe this is the one kind that isn't self-absorbed, or the idea that you're better than everyone else, which is what pride is most associated with. This is the kind that means you're proud of who you are, and you won't bend to other people's expectations. This kind of pride needs more attention, and representation in our culture.
