I dont know why more audiophiles dont try this headphone.Their sound quality checks all the boxes.They have a very engaging holographic sound quality with great imaging, separation,timbre and tone.They are balanced and have a full rich,detailed and warm cohesive sound.
Had this for over 3 years now , they are truly amazing. It did seem pricey to me when I bought it , but now I think that it was totally worth it. I've literally never run out of battery, (using cable when working on the computer and wireless with my iPhone). And the sound is just awesome. The only reason why I would go for a different B&O model, would be that the h4 are kinda (just kinda) a little big compared to the newer models.

I own this headphones for several years and absolutely love it. I compared this to Bose QC35 because they were in the similar price range, even though the Beoplay H4 does not offer NC feature. The Beoplay H4 delivers much clear, crisp sound than Bose QC35 in my opinion. Compared to the Beoplay H4, the sound of the Bose QC35 feels like it is blocked by a wall.
Great review Sagi. I agree, not having a carrying case is not acceptable at a $300 price tag. I know its first world problems but I once passed on buying a Cadillac with all the bells and whistles because the one thing it was missing was a power tilt steering wheel. It wasn't about not having a power tilt steering wheel, it was about paying a premium price for something that should have it. If they are skimming out on the cheap things, what else are they skimming out on?
Eric, I'm totally with you about the car. At that point, that is a silly thing to overlook. You're already paying a premium and like you said, it should be included. These sound amazing, but I wouldn't just want to throw them in a bag and get them all banged up. My assumption is that B&O will say they put all $300 (minus profit) into the sound/build quality. But it's a limiting factor and could probably sway some buyers into buying a lesser quality set with additional accessories (read: Beats....)
Great video. I’ve had my H4s for a few weeks now and I’m very happy with them. I wasn’t planning on buying them but then a 50% off sale was offered on them so got them for $200 AUD shipped. I wear glasses so finding comfortable headphones is a priority for me and the H4s are super comfy. I’ve worn them for 3 hours with not a hint of discomfort. I normally prefer valour pads but the lamb skin leather pads are super soft and comfy.

i have same deal just waiting for text ... Sonos one - but found out it doesn't have full Alexa functions like Drop inn or make calls and its mic is spotty but sounds are good / better if paired with another sonos.. only other issue i cant find out from EE which Gen this Sonos is . Xbox One Digital 1 TB - Well i didn't know this at the beginning or i might not have gone for the upgrade .. but i didn't know what the Digital part was and now i know .. no disc drive .. My son has many xbox one games all on disc so this was now a defunct choice for me . Headphones - So the only other choice was these but no in my house or me will use them :( im not sure now what to choose my self .
Another great review mate, but I have $135.00 ATH PRO5x and even they had a cloth bag with them so it's beyond a joke B&O get your head in the game or get off the court guys!
I know right? Give me a bag! As far as these or the mix-fi. If you plan on traveling with them, the Mix-Fi are just so big and heavy, I think that would be a real issue. If you're only sitting down and want the best audio quality, the Mix-Fi sound amazing. If it was me, I'd get the H4 because they are more versatile.
I bought the headphones at 20% of the market price as a gift redemption offer with an HP laptop and I am totally disappointed with the product. It is not at all comfortable, heavy on head and doesn't fit properly around my neck. I would not like to comment on the sound quality as I am not an expert in that area but it seems as good as common headphones available at one tenth of its price. Further there aren't any special feature on these headphones. No noise cancellation, no Google nevigation, nothing. I will strongly recommend not to buy this. This one's just overrated in the market.

If you do not care about noise cancellation at all - you might like the sound quality of these better. To me, I really like the noise cancellation feature of the X1000MKiii :)

talk about bluetooth experience do you lose signal when phone is in back pocket how about when moving from cell to PC and does bluetooth time out (on b and O if no signal for 15 min the phones turn off) time out when you have bluetooth signal but are not playing music? this is important if you have the phones on (to block noise in a coffee shop for instance) so you wear them and answer calls on them too. just a thought. Also, a frequency analysis is a professional test to see if the frequency played is what comes out of the headphones--you could get a frequency generator to play the sound frequency(s) on the headphones and then a frequency read from the microphone to see if the produced sound is what is expected. Another thing, talk about break-in for the headphones and the sound difference--people that watch these vids are geeky and love to see many of these details.

When you put H4 on charging, the led indicator will blink orange/ red light until it's fully charged then only green/white light. Nothing to worry about

How about that Alex, I didn't know they are using my video. Yes, these last plenty long for everyday use. For $160 I think they are a fantastic value. They are very comfortable and the sound quality is fantastic. Hope this helps.
@Beanz 97, I really like those too. Putting aside audio quality and "specs" for one sec, for how I use headphones, I love that the m50x are collapsible. You're going to love the audio quality from both because it's outstanding. And with the new price drops, both are very good values
It's a matter of comparison and types of use. I mostly don't listen to music blasting in my ear. I like my music loud, but not so much that it's going to cause damage. Sound leakage definitely was not something that I noticed as a problem. There is a lot of padding, and the seal is very good.
You could definitely use these with your Mac and they would sound amazing. There are better sounding headphones but for the price And form factor I really like these.
It has been a while and I cycle through a lot of gear so I don’t exactly remember. That’s a question I’ll remember to cover in future reviews, thank you!

For example: let's say I set it to bright, and go from using the headphones with my cellphone to using them with my laptop. Will the setting also apply to the sound when paired with the laptop or only on the device that has the app, i.e. the phone?

I just saw Amazon suggest me the B&O H7. They're available at the exact same price as the H4. Prime exclusive deal for today. I've already ordered the H4 but I can also order the H7 and return the ones I don't like. How would you say the H7 are compared to the H4? They look prettier too :) Thanks!
@@TechGearTalk Hey! So the H4 are definitely the more upbeat and fun sounding. They have bass but maybe I'm still expecting more since I'm coming from the Sony Xb950bt. I'll give them a few days to burn in and then see the difference. The most noticeable differences between the H4 and H7 are as follows- H4- More bass (you were right!), slightly louder in wireless mode than the H7, have slightly more presence in the vocals than the H7. They sound much the same in both wired and wireless mode. The bass has an ever so slight rumble but nowhere near the head rattling I'm used to from my Sonys. It's very faint to the point of being negligible. They sound more warm than the H7 but don't provide as wide a soundstage. They are definitely better for pop, EDM etc. H7- The more mature set. Not as loud and not as bass emphasised, but have crisper treble. The vocals and highs sound clearer than the H4. They get much louder in wired mode almost to the point of getting shrill. I wired them to my MacBook air and played songs downloaded on iTunes. (No streaming and I have a preference for downloading the 320kbps files). The Mac has a better built in dac than my Samsung Note 9 (Samsungs have the worst dac output in my opinion) I could immediately feel the loudness and clarity in wired mode on my Mac. Wired to my Note 9, they sound less loud. Overall the H7 have a more balanced sound. Definitely less bass and that makes them a no go for me, but I can appreciate the better quality. They are for the more discerning listener. One who is not a basshead. They are more wider sounding than the H4. They cover more of the spectrum and the signature B&O sound is perceptible here. The H4 sound less "true" bit are more enjoyable. I'd be returning the H7 and will probably keep the H4. I hope this has helped. And thanks for your suggestion regarding the H4!

usualy sticked to sennheiser, this was my first B&O prodcut and would instant buy them again, can also recommend the beolit 17 speakers

When you put H4 on charging, the led indicator will blink orange/ red light until it's fully charged then only green/white light. Nothing to worry about

How about that Alex, I didn't know they are using my video. Yes, these last plenty long for everyday use. For $160 I think they are a fantastic value. They are very comfortable and the sound quality is fantastic. Hope this helps.

@Beanz 97, I really like those too. Putting aside audio quality and "specs" for one sec, for how I use headphones, I love that the m50x are collapsible. You're going to love the audio quality from both because it's outstanding. And with the new price drops, both are very good values

How´s the sound leakage? Read some reviews that said it´s pretty bad :/
It's a matter of comparison and types of use. I mostly don't listen to music blasting in my ear. I like my music loud, but not so much that it's going to cause damage.
Sound leakage definitely was not something that I noticed as a problem. There is a lot of padding, and the seal is very good.

You could definitely use these with your Mac and they would sound amazing. There are better sounding headphones but for the price And form factor I really like these.

hello and thanks for the great review! Does the sound setting carry across all devices? For example: let's say I set it to bright, and go from using the headphones with my cellphone to using them with my laptop. Will the setting also apply to the sound when paired with the laptop or only on the device that has the app, i.e. the phone?

I just saw Amazon suggest me the B&O H7. They're available at the exact same price as the H4. Prime exclusive deal for today. I've already ordered the H4 but I can also order the H7 and return the ones I don't like. How would you say the H7 are compared to the H4? They look prettier too :) Thanks!

@@TechGearTalk Hey! So the H4 are definitely the more upbeat and fun sounding. They have bass but maybe I'm still expecting more since I'm coming from the Sony Xb950bt. I'll give them a few days to burn in and then see the difference. The most noticeable differences between the H4 and H7 are as follows-
H4- More bass (you were right!), slightly louder in wireless mode than the H7, have slightly more presence in the vocals than the H7. They sound much the same in both wired and wireless mode. The bass has an ever so slight rumble but nowhere near the head rattling I'm used to from my Sonys. It's very faint to the point of being negligible. They sound more warm than the H7 but don't provide as wide a soundstage. They are definitely better for pop, EDM etc.
H7- The more mature set. Not as loud and not as bass emphasised, but have crisper treble. The vocals and highs sound clearer than the H4. They get much louder in wired mode almost to the point of getting shrill. I wired them to my MacBook air and played songs downloaded on iTunes. (No streaming and I have a preference for downloading the 320kbps files). The Mac has a better built in dac than my Samsung Note 9 (Samsungs have the worst dac output in my opinion) I could immediately feel the loudness and clarity in wired mode on my Mac. Wired to my Note 9, they sound less loud. Overall the H7 have a more balanced sound. Definitely less bass and that makes them a no go for me, but I can appreciate the better quality. They are for the more discerning listener. One who is not a basshead. They are more wider sounding than the H4. They cover more of the spectrum and the signature B&O sound is perceptible here. The H4 sound less "true" bit are more enjoyable.
I'd be returning the H7 and will probably keep the H4. I hope this has helped. And thanks for your suggestion regarding the H4!
