Some people don't realize at the end of Thor, even though he didn't die, he did attempt suicide, and it's sad. The fact that he was suicidal and as soon as he comes back, Thanos forces him to be the villain, he loses, then is put in jail in isolation makes everything worse. Thor is the only one who knows even the slightest of what Loki has been through and even then Thor doesn't know all of it. What makes things even more worse is Thor is the only person who truly knows Loki died a hero.
