Awesome video guys! A little add on tip. if you buy a roll of super light tar bank line, unravel all of the three strands and use it to tie your stop. It’s tarred line so it grips line very well and doesn’t loosen up. Oh and it’s super cheap to buy.
Thank you for the video. I discovered this method by accident a few years when my pre-knotted stop knots would no longer stay in place. At first, instead of having to start over again, I would simply take one of the pre-knotted stop knots and remove the string from the tube and tie it directly on the line. I did that until I discovered using braided fly line for my stop knots.
Great video. I've been using a rubber band tied onto the line as a bobber stop, but that's for cane pole fishing in Florida for Specks and Bluegills. Yours will work well for casting applications.
I started using this technique and it’s the only way I’ll fish with a bobber now. My biggest issue is the fishing pole top eye the small one catches it and the moves it. I try to just angle my pole down. Thanks for the video
thanks @noneyerbidness! I will try that out... I was about to go out and buy some dracon or fly line backing but this sounds like a good tip. Do you know if fish prefer cinnamon, mint or unscented best? :)
One can also use this knot to tie leader to braid. Goes right through the guides. Loop the braid, go through the loop with braid tag and leader 5x,moisten and pull. 😊
I’ve had trouble with the pre-made stops going through my bead and rendering the whole rig ineffective. I wonder if the fly-line would prevent that. Maybe go up a bit in line size?
Beautiful! Thank you, brothers! Is that knot big enough that I won't need to use a bead? Or did you just assume that we'll all know to put a bead on the line before the bobber? Nice video. Well done! 🌞👍🏼
what kind of failure are you talking about exactly? if the thing loses tension you still have to remove((cut it) it without damaging your main line,so either way you still have to remove all your leader gear and start over be it with pre tied ones or your own
*This was my first time using Braided line and I was happy with the product **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it's held up well and I have no complaints. Would buy again.*
VJTrey1 it shouldn’t, I run both FG and Double Uni knots through my reel (really finicky bass, really long leaders) and they cast with no problem. This is gonna be even thinner and smoother than your average double uni from fluorocarbon to braid.
I got a question I tried this when I got home and I tighten the knot and I will still able to move it up and down is that normal or should it be just tight enough to where it supports the bead and not letting the cork go up. Cuz once you remove the tag end you're not able to tighten the knot but I'm still able to move it up and down so since I cannot tighten it since I cut off the ends I have to retire another one if I want to achieve another depth.
Getting the knot snug enough to work, and not slide easily make take some practice. I have seen people leave the tag ends, which is fine until temperatures drop near freezing. Then it's a real problem.
The thumbs down people are people who work at the over priced slipknot company's. Great easy video that will save me money.
This is so simple but I was just fishing off cliffs and never tied them. You have rescued me. Thank you
This is by far the best bobber stop knot video I have ever seen.
Wow, had no idea how easy it is to DIY a bobber stop. Great info, thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Saw this video and just now tied up a dozen on a pastic drink straw to toss in my tackle box. Good video guys thank you from Idaho.
Try using this papermate capped pen tubes, I find it better than a straw

Hey Dave,
Thanks, just learned how to tie a BSK from your video.! 😊

What lb test you use?
Best demo ever for this application Just subscribed

dam that uni knot is the best.
Yesss sir. Awesome video. No more spending on stoppers. Thank you.
Thanks for the clear demonstration.
Omg! You changed my life!!!

Thank you for this video. It helped me and my son. Well done.
OH YEAH!! no more buying boober stoppers from the store. Thank you!!!
use dental floss. works well and the tidy package fits nicely in the tackle box.
Great idea thanks!!
thanks @noneyerbidness! I will try that out... I was about to go out and buy some dracon or fly line backing but this sounds like a good tip. Do you know if fish prefer cinnamon, mint or unscented best? :)
This is an excellent tip!
Thank you. 🌞👍🏼
Where did you learn this? Or did you come up with it on your own?
Bait thread can also work?
The smaller threads from the inside of paracord work great.
I needed this thank you
Great demo!! Thanks!
Wow super easy, it's similar to how I tie my own high low rigs for surf fishing
This is a great knot!!! 👍
Omg😮 that is so simple, thank you
Nice job. Good demo. Thanks.
Very easy and creative thank you so much 😊

Thank you!!!!!that worked perfectly 👍
Great information. Thank you for posting this video.
Thanks guys! Helped a lot.

Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks!!! Great vid!!

will a knot from fly line backing slip or trip when going through guides and the line roller of a spinning reel?
line roller?
@@ARCSTREAMS the pulley attached to the bail that winds line onto the spool.
@@slacktide_angler are we talking spinning reel or bait-casting reel?
@@ARCSTREAMS spinning, when you flip your bail closed. The part of the bail that touches the line on a spinning reel is called a line roller
@@wazkeating3496 yes i know about that ,not sure why i did not back then, thanks
Great technique thanks
if mainline is mono can i use mono to tie this knot
Yes
@@tigermuskie34 Hey Dave, no fly line backing on hand. In your opinion what mainline material would be better for this application... mono or braid?
Beautiful!
Thank you, brothers!

Nice video. Well done! 🌞👍🏼
i use a bobber with a bead because if I don't it goes over the stop.
fly backing - like dracon ? ..... not braid ?
Braid is too slick.

Are smaller beads with smaller holes needed for this or will regular beads work?
Make sure the bead is bigger than the opening in hole in the stem through the bobber.
Thank You ... 👍
Basically ties just like a Uni Knot
*This was my first time using Braided line and I was happy with the product **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it's held up well and I have no complaints. Would buy again.*
Wouldn’t you still lose your whole setup if that knot does fail ??
No. This knot only sets the distance from the bobber to the jig.
Does the bobber stopper gets caught in rod guides of baitcasting reel with this line and test line? Thanks

awesome, thanks so much
thanks mate.
Simple and effective
This is nice but doesn't the Carolina Rig get anywhere from 6 inches to a foot off the bottom defeating the purpose of this knot? I really don't know.
Sweet!
So its literally just a uni knot tied around the mainline
So basically a union knot
they move, do not stay put
