Sadly it probably wouldn't be allowed today, it was a great era for comedy back then.
tucsonorganist- Monty Python was in a comedy of their own and I totally agree that no other comedy group( or team ) will never ever be anything like Monty Python Flying Circus EVER!

In its hey day, Monty Pythons Flying Circus was quite really funny with a lot of funny sketches and whatnot!
The dead parrot sketch and other sketches were really hilariously funny!
The sketch I thought that was quite funny was the bit of " Hells Grannies "
The character John played in "The Dead Parrot" was named Eric Praline who'd become a recurring character throughout the remainder of the series until he left to do Fawlty Towers.
Those are all brilliant but you missed the mattress salesman. I adore that one!!
The sketch is called "Buying a bed", it is on the Monty Python's Flying Circus BBC record from 1970.
The Cheese Shop is impressive as well as funny. John Cleese's ability to recite all those cheese names (some of which are fictitious), is mind-boggling.
It never makes any list, but "The Book Shop" brings me to my knees every time. "I can't buy that, it's torn!"
Even us Yanks from those cheeky colonies know these by heart.
My dad made his VM in college the “Lumberjack Song”; he sang it and my dad has a great singing voice. I thought he was joking, but Mom backed it up 😂😂😂

I never saw much of Flying Circus when I was a kid, I’d watch it now though! I remember watching Benny Hill and that was a great funny show too
Death of Mary Queen of Scots/Penguin on the TV set (though the whole "How to Recognise Different Parts of the Body" episode is hilarious)
"Dirty Hungarian Phrase Book" would be followed by a courtroom sketch where the publisher of said phrase book was on trial for his company's product causing an international incident.
Spam song sketch with Vikings and Lumberjack song! Legendary
Lumberjack song would have been much funnier had it ended with "just like my dear papa"
"The funniest Joke of all time" - with a progressing story arch and a crescendo - Full blown short film masterpiece!
This could have been a top 50. The fish slapping dance, bee license ... Omigosh! We could just go on and on.

I would add the fish slapping dance and the cycling tour.

I think the Bicycle Repair Man sketch was pretty good. About six years ago, I hung the scenerio run up, but I custom wrote odd-ball sketches with options A through D, but I ended up doing a parody of the dead bird sketch in one of them. I would do this with a co-worker, but to me it was a test to see if I could get him to crack.
On a similar note, you don't see the Monty Python team referenced much any more in the shows that bask in parodies.

The Ministry of Silly Walks, a perfect and hilarious satire on every British government's habit of setting up new sometimes useless ministries and ministers for various unsual jobs, like droughts. 😁😆🤣
Special mention for how to hide ( they get blown up ) and Bicycle Repair Man in a world of Superheroes. 😆

By the way, there is a German version of the lumberjack sketch with a Bavarian lumberjack, a Bavarian woman, and the cops in Bavarian police uniforms. For that reason alone I state it is #2 behind the dead parrot sketch with spam #3.
