i absolutely love the contrast of your glam and airy furnishings with the industrial architecture of the loft. I agree that the bed would look amazing against the brick, but as far as separating work from living and functionality since the bathroom is downstairs I think you made the right choice. I cant wait until you have patio furniture and extend your living area outdoors. I cant think of any apartment where you had a large enough outdoor area to do that. Carly, you're genius and I've loved every single one of your spaces!

Omg I love your loft!! But I think the bed would look better upstairs, you could have your own little room there, and also keep your closets up there. And downstairs you could have your desk and stuff.
Naomi Mol it would definitely look better upstairs, but it would be way less functional... that's my struggle

Carly, instead of sliding doors to separate the bedroom you could hang draping fabric. It would look romantic. You could use different shades and textures and just pull it to the side and tie it to open the room back up again. Also might be a cheaper alternative!
honestly, I've thought about it because ti would definitely be a cheaper alternative- but I'm concerned with the fabric hanging so close to all the hanging drapes that it may start to look like a craft store in here. Ive never been a fan of curtain room dividers in my own sections [they look great in other spaces, just personally I think they look off with my furniture] we'll see!

Carly Cristman I also think that fabric would keep dust and its not healthy, yes you could wash them but not cool.
*Also I think your personal space should be super private. If you have people they cant just walk around like in a club.
Carly Cristman dont know about the size - but I have seen Ikea closet doors made of glass/plastic used in lofts - look up ikeahacks

For your island. You may want to think about repurposing a really cool cupboard by painting and adding a butchers block top and industrial wheels. I've done it before and it looks amazing. People used to ask me where I got it all the time. It quickly turned into a show piece. Over all I spent less than 100 on the piece of furniture. Then the butchers block was the most expensive so I purchased it in squares and sealed them. Today I would have someone install the top.
I think I'm in the minority, but I LOVE your bedroom on the first floor & the fact that the second floor is basically one giant walk-in closet/workspace. I think once you put up the sliding doors, it will be absolutely perfect. I currently have exposed brick in my apartment too and I can't even explain how obsessed I am with it.
You loft is a dream!! Love how you put your office/closet upstairs!! I think it makes the space so much more unique! The sliding doors would be the perfect touch of privacy for your bedroom!
That random light they put up, is probably to highlight a painting on the wall! Like a focal point in the room!
I think you did a great job so far! I totally agree with the situation of falling down the stairs in the night and i like the bed downstairs - If you get doors made from milky plexiglass you will get light in there and it would look nice. Also, when you go to work its like being in another place! Congratulations. I think filling the house with some trees and also doing some beautiful planting and cafe lights on that amazing patio will be fabulous!
It look's fantastic Carly. I like that you decided to put the bed downstair's and agree with closing it off the bed area to the loungeroom. You could easily put a curtain across there for privacy rather than bifold/sliding door's. I think a curtain would be softer and pulled back during the day would allow air to flow through as there's no window near your bed. Does the apartment have air-conditioning?

I'd be the same, have the bed downstairs and see how you get on. I know that's what I'd do because id either fall down the stairs going to the loo, topple over the railings in middle of the night, or after coming home after drinks with friends the stairs would look like some mountain and I'd end up sleeping down anyway. Ha. Looks absolutely amazing tho! X
Nice! I think it was smart to have your work all upstairs. You can control the lighting for videos, you have the space up there, and like you said you can separate work life from home life. This was a great move! I also like the way you laid out all of the furniture. I personally think you should sell the bar stools. If you move again and need some you can just get another set. I think the slide doors are a great idea too...don't they sell some at IKEA? Another option are those wall like book cases that they sell at IKEA. Those would provide additional storage space as well.
I think a pair of sliding doors to separate your bedroom from the "public areas" will help. I lived in a loft & trust me that tight spiral stair case is loud & uncomfortable to walk down in the middle of the night to go potty. Especially if you are like me & you don't want to turn on any lights. I think some easy hanging opaque closet doors would be easy to put in. If i'm not mistaken wayfair or Ikea have some.
That is an amazing apartment - just WOW!!! I do feel the bed downstairs is a bit odd, but then again it's not like you're sharing your place with anyone so it's much more handy having bed near the bathroom and near the kitchen, instead of having to do those stairs everytime you might need the bathroom or a drink of water. It's truly beautiful - the whole place xx

Love! I also think the wall canvas breaks up the creme drapes really well (it all works very well together). My living style is cozy/library/bookish, but I genuinely appreciate your style as it expresses how I like my dressing/makeup/skincare nook to look. Simply beautiful!
I think sliding doors is the best idea, I like having all the livingness downstairs and your workspace upstairs!

Carly! You place looks amazing. I am so happy for you. I definitely think you should get an island. You can buy it, but I suggest making a custom one. That's what I want to do for my potential apartment. I went to Lowes recently to get an estimate on the prices, the materials were soooo cheap! At home depot and lowes they don't mind cutting the pieces for you and helping you figure out what you need, as long as you pretty much have the design figured out.

I love seeing the different places you live in; they're always amazing! I think the sliding doors are going to look awesome and I like the logic of having your workspace upstairs....and I don't want you getting injured so good decision making there

You should definitely eventually move the bed upstairs and make the downstairs area your work space. I feel like if you close off the area with sliding doors it will make the apartment looked congested and feel less open

I really like your old apartment better. Maybe because the closet space have it's own room then, it looked more like a home decor. As long you like your new place then that's all that matters.

I'm obsessed! I love the more industrial loft-style apartments. We have quite a few in Dallas, but they're just too expensive for me to justify. I look at them online all the time and wish I lived there.

I like the idea of the work area being upstairs. That way you can physically get up and walk away from work. As a solo I often work from home but I want to leave it when it's time to do some living and lovin'. Awesome space. The sliding doors or fabric separation is going to look amazing. love this apartment... i feel like u should definitely keep the bed downstairs bc the closet is better in the loft since there is a lot of natural light and you will be able to film your videos in there and get ready in the natural light

The loft looks amazing so far I was going to suggest bookshelves to transition from bedroom to living area but it sounds like you are set on doors. I have enjoying seeing your progress!
If you put sliding doors in the living room I would seriously consider having them be matte white glass. I think that would look so good and still would let in light.
I love lofts but I didn't think I'd like the idea of the bedroom being downstairs & I'm surprised that I DO! I love the colors I love the furniture ( it was all in another apt. B4 I think I remember seeing it?) I love how u arranged everything lol & I'm totally good with the bedroom downstairs
