    Al - Thank you I enjoyed that. Most of the water I fish is right hand bank, so I rarely get an opportunity to single Spey cast. Must try to address this and become more proficient with it. Great stuff.

      Thanks for watching!! On right bank the single Spey is still a great cast to use in an up stream wind, but you would need to go left hand uppermost when on river right.
      The best cast to really practice is the jump roll cast to get consistent anchor placement, D-loop shape and practice timing on forward delivery. If you can do consistent good clean jump rolls then the single Spey just incorporates a body turn to get the angle change.

    Very good and precise Al. Can i ask if this single spey cast is also referred to as a switch cast but on a small scale i.e not much line out. Al also does a nice piece on the snake roll

      A switch cast normally refers to a single spey without a change of direction. take out the body rotation and your there... Also known as forward spey and jump roll
