Hello sir, greetings from Italy, your videos are very useful. I have a question for you if you have time to answer. The question is: In the United States of America, it's possible for a private person, to pay a brand-new car from a car dealer in CASH?! I mean, here in my Country is allowed to pay only 5000€ in cash and as you can imagine, is almost impossible to buy a car. I remember in the 90s that it was permitted to buy car in cash, often receiving a price discount from the car dealer itself. I think that now, the automotive companies are only banks that want you to ask for a loan to buy your desired car. Sorry for my english, it's not perfect but I hope you can get the point. Best regards.
Hi and thanks so much for reaching out. Yes here in North America, we are still able to buy cash and pay via bank draft or certified cheque etc, however doing so usually means that we pay a bit more than the negotiated finance or lease price simply for the same reasons you say, making interest dollars of your sale. One tactic here is not tell them how you plan to oay and get the best price, but they generally know that’s the game so it’s usually not the best price anyway so what I have done in the past is take their financing which secures me a slightly better price of the car and then pay off the loan after the first monthly car payment. Most deals still allow this but you have to ask and know that this condition is possible without a penalty
