The train was also in 60 MPH causing her to flung over a railfan that recorded the exact reason of how Mary Theresa Wojtyla died. The number of that E9 was #9912.
Dear Joseph: Thanks for this latest upload enjoyed it very much. Question, when these trains travel in reverse how do they control it from the other end? I have always been curious to know. Will you have more to come? Greetings.
Paul, Trains on this line travel from Chicago, west to Aurora. The engine is leading on the westbound train. Eastbound, the engine is pushing, and the engineer is at the east end in a cab car, controlling everything. And, yes, I have more videos to come. Thanks for your interest.
No, these locomotives had two different horns. One is the infamous Leslie S2M (or possible RS2M) and the other one is a single chime air horn. Possibly a Leslie A-125, or a Wabco E2 since they sound similar when blown.
31:04 “I guess you wonder where I’ve been” 🎶🎶🎵
I know it’s a Metra vid and I love my hometown engines but seeing that old beast 31:02 come along was the best part!
Miss when Amtrak relied on them
The E9, best sounding US locos EVER. Most others sound like tractors.
It's so cool to see my fav E Units in action again!
more video of the E9s on the way
geez~! i live in palatine so i remember all this. are these your own camcorder videos from back in the day? pretty darn impressive!
Yes, these are my own camcorder recordings from back then. They were shot in VHS-C (compact VHS), using Toshiba and JVC camcorders.
Awesome video!
thanks
Oh wow. Did this show train#9912?
I don't see 9912, but it's hard to read the numbers on a few of the engines.
@@josephcipar3666 Oh ok thank you.
Actually they are BN E Units. Owned and Operated by BN. Metra is a transit Agency and a customer of BN.
Interesting I wonder why the reporting marks were not BN 9900, BN 9901, etc.
the more things change, the more they stay the same
downers grove is a notable place because of a woman who got hit by a speeding metra express train
Mary t wojtyla.
@@ChristianContemporaryMusic02That was sad.

Oh yes, famously this was the ONLY TIME IN HISTORY that a person was hit by a train 🙄
@@APNREnthusiastironically that unit was one of two that lasted in BN paint preserved
Nice to see no graffiti on the freights back then
Yes, some of today's trains look really bad.

Mine friends! ;)
9:21 what type of horn is that?
I'm sorry, I don't know horns. You'll have to ask a horn guy.
Probably a Wabco E2 horn.
A fouled Leslie S2M
I'm one, it like an S2M with a random problem

still kind of crazy that only two sd40-2s can pull more than three gevos
GOOD PONT
They can't. The territory is FLAT and the trains are small. SD40-2s aren't as great as the boomers make them out to be.
was this before locomotives had tri lights?
yes
Great video!
