I'm 42 and I had tonsillectomy 2 weeks ago. On day 6 ambulance take me back to hospital, because I had severe bleeding at night, I almost chocked with my own blood :-(. At the moment, when I arrived to hospital I went to emergency room, I don't know what happened next, because I passed out. They done urgent operation. I was in hospital again for 3 days. The strongest pain for me was at night and must admit that I can’t even describe the pain after day 4. Now is getting better and I’m still recovering. The worst pain experience, and I had some broken bones in my life. You shouldn’t take tonsillectomy easy and think twice before you go for it.
@@sustainableliving6319 Hi, i'm ok now, still kicking 🙂. I didn't had strep throat after operation again, but if someone asks me if i would do it again, my answer is hell no, i would choose antibiotics and sore throat any day. I think i hade complications after operation because i had realy big tonsils and i was over 40. When is bad weather outside i still get suden pulsating pain in throat, where tonsils where, that comes and goes. Now is little more then one year from my operation.
I’m on 6 months after but it still hurts a lot especially with talking. My docter says it will take another 6 months. But I don’t see improvement since the 2nd month after. It’s still red and sometimes a white bump on there as well. I just hope you can give me advice cause I honestly am sick of it.
Surgery Jan 20th 😭 I’m nervous. But ready to stop feeling like I’m choking 😭 tons of stones ! Dr said my tonsils were a “3.5” and “very lumpy and bumpy” 😭
Hey I'm considering it.. more as a precaution because my doctor said it is a good precaution to do.. hehe.. 35yo here.. so how did it went.. i mean.. tell me how it will be.. oops... It's just in a week.. well just wish you to fly through it like a bird!
Im really nervous my tonsils have been killing me for about 5 months and im finally meeting with a surgeon on the 26th. I cannot wait to get these things out of my throat.
I'm 35 and I'm having sometimes an infection every 2 weeks especially in winter with weather change. Suffered of this all my life. I went through triple fracture in my hand and one big surgery for it and 3 hemorrhoids and anal fissure surgeries (trust me you don't know the pain there guys)... So this with whatever level of pain it is, I guess I will manage it. My only fear is eating since I'm skinny by default and if I don't eat for a day I faint directly. Maybe stay in hospital for fluids injection for a week guys? Any recommendations for that?
Definitely talk to your doctor! I'm getting mine done next month also with an andenoidectomy and getting a lump on my uvula removed and I admit I'm terrified. But I did some reading and some people recommend protein shakes to ensure you're getting enough nutrients (things like muscle milk and ensure), but I'm sure your doctor will figure out something to make sure you're okay.
So, comparatively speaking, how does the pain of a tonsillectomy rate against a hemorrhoidectomy? I've been through the bottom end (wasnt near as bad as i read online) and i'm considering a tonsillectomy (at 40) because of persistent tonsil stones.
I'm 30 and just got my tonsils out 4 days ago.. Don't know the comparison to hemorhoidectomy, but it has been very unpleasant.. It isn't so much the pain as it is the uncomfortability of a massive wound in the back of your throat for weeks, you can't eat much, swallowing is extremely hard, and the smell is putrid.. In 2-3 weeks it will all be worth it... you too
Hey i need your help, my tonsils dont get crazy inflamed unless a virus enters. But they annoy me day to day. Like my left one has been about 1.5 corn grain big since i was 16. So the issue is that whnever i eat something even mildly sour or sweet. Such as. Any fruit. Strawberries for u example. Or even if i hace yougurt or milk. Anything that kinda stays in the mouth and sticks to them. They start to hurt a lilttle as if theye provoked. And if i dont have something right after such as a piece of bread. And it stays in my throat. Then they start hurting and getting inflammed a little bit which causes discomfort. I am really confused what i should do. I am 23 turning 24. Please help me devide what i should do for sensitive tonsils like these.
I’m 20, have had strep throat on and off like 4 times for the past 2 months, also, I’ve always had really bad tonsil stones, I’m considering getting my tonsils removed, severe pain from the surgery sounds a lot better than getting sick every other week and being unable to swallow and even choking on my own spit sometimes because my tonsils are so enflamed, should I get em taken out?
@BigViewership so much better and totally worth it. But had every complication imaginable. Couldn't taste sweets for almost 6 months because a nerve was pinched during the surgery. But sleeping better and totally healed now:)
Even a little non-constant bleeding? Like I've been spitting up blood here and there and then it stops.. I'm on day 4 for reference@@dr.shellenberger9830
Bleeding can occur quite late in the recovery process (when the scabs start to fall off around day 8 or 9), I'd keep someone strong until then because there is no way you're doing anything for yourself on days 3 to 7
my daughter's having it done in Germany. They're keeping her in hospital for a week and she then has to have someone with her 24/7 for at least 2 weeks. Not just to help with ice chips/comforting etc but in case of bleeding. You can't drive yourself or call an ambulance in that emergency.
Nice video, I'm 35 yo, just removed mine 1 week ago. Spent 4 days at the hospital room for better care as I needed morphine and fluids in my vein all the time. Really hardcore surgery, I kinda regret it because I never had tonsil infection and only removed it because they cause a little bad breath

I’ve broken my sternum and I can say with confidence that tonsillectomy recover is 10x more excruciating than that was. If you have to get them out, do it ASAP. If you don’t need them out, DONT DO IT.

How many people suffer from chronic fatigue, depression after they had there tonsils removed in childhood ?? If your legs are having some pus you don't cut your legs you treat them , treat tonsil removing them is bad practice which have long term implications.
So unfortunately I figured this out too late in life… I was in a stage where modern medicine never steered me wrong, so I had my tonsils removed at age 22. Symptoms continued & I learned years later the truth about my health. Now at 28 I am studying to be a physician assistant and am searching to get tonsils put back in. I believe medicine has evolved so much - heart transplants, cornea transplants, etc. I am to figure this out for those “food stamp” babies like me who did as their told bc “Dr knows best” and truly believing it is the right thing… would you happen to know anyone willing to help? I’m 100% willing to be a part of a new generation and to truly guide others to true health and healing. Every part of your body has a purpose and you are made to heal in the right environment and with the right lifestyle.

I get strep throat so so much. 3x in two months currently on #3 right now and so discouraged about that pain me my husband and children do not kiss any more because we have been sick for months straight. Its never ending but I'm the only one who gets strep again and again
Omg same! I have my doctors appt tomorrow for amoxicillin and I’m going to ask to get them removed I can’t take this anymore
Im 49 years old and have struggled my whole life with strep throat and tonsil stones. I'm considering having them removed but im absolutely terrified!!! Right now, my tonsils are HUGE, inflamed and full of stones so the idea of not having that to deal with anymore sounds great but I'm really really scared of the pain.
I got mine out when I was 21 and it was definitely worth it!! 2 weeks of extreme pain and discomfort but my quality of life is so much better. The key is to stay hydrated (set alarms every 3-4 hours during the night to sip some water - it sucks to wake up but this definitely saved me) and buy an ice pack that wraps around your head to help with jaw and ear pain. I haven’t had any throat issues since. Good luck :)
@@laurenh6767 Good to know! I am sure it will be worth it. : )
I'm 48 and just got them done today. The meds are helping with the pain but my uvula is what's driving me nuts. It got so big it's bothering me and making it harder to swallow.
@@djab203on day 10 right now, yawning hurts the most for me, hope your recovery is doing well, i am proud of you and just wanted to let you know, you are not alone and you are doing great 🥰❤
@@Dxve.__ Thank you so much. Hearing positive feedback from others helps so much. I'm on day 5 now and feeling a little better but I have a long way to go.
Am I the only one that didnt feel so much pain? I admit that I had powerful painkillers. But it was just a walk in the park 👍🏽. The horror stories are very scary though 😨
You shouldn’t take tonsillectomy easy and think twice before you go for it.
absolutely no reason to post this crap
Wow! How are you feeling now?
Any improvement?

Surgery Jan 20th 😭 I’m nervous. But ready to stop feeling like I’m choking 😭 tons of stones ! Dr said my tonsils were a “3.5” and “very lumpy and bumpy” 😭

Heyy how are you. I have gotten my tonsils out yesterday too!! How are you going? I have a very swollen throat but the pain is very manageble
@@diegogentasorroche2493 ok I guess I I been puched in throat
Im really nervous my tonsils have been killing me for about 5 months and im finally meeting with a surgeon on the 26th. I cannot wait to get these things out of my throat.
How was it 😂
I'm 35 and I'm having sometimes an infection every 2 weeks especially in winter with weather change.
Did you get it done? How was the experience?
Definitely talk to your doctor! I'm getting mine done next month also with an andenoidectomy and getting a lump on my uvula removed and I admit I'm terrified. But I did some reading and some people recommend protein shakes to ensure you're getting enough nutrients (things like muscle milk and ensure), but I'm sure your doctor will figure out something to make sure you're okay.
@@TheLotusOfBluelmk how it goes
In 2-3 weeks it will all be worth it... you too
@@TheGuym619how are you doing now? Worth it?
Go to a doctor
I’m 20, have had strep throat on and off like 4 times for the past 2 months, also, I’ve always had really bad tonsil stones, I’m considering getting my tonsils removed, severe pain from the surgery sounds a lot better than getting sick every other week and being unable to swallow and even choking on my own spit sometimes because my tonsils are so enflamed, should I get em taken out?
please do it, it’s hell but being sick chronically is 10x worse. i’m in the same boat. on day 7 of my recovery rn
@@mateuvillanueva7814how are you now?
I'm on day 8, still waking up every 4 hours bleeding. Was not expecting it to be this bad.
If it’s bleeding, that’s not common. Only about 5-7 % of patients have bleeding after tonsillectomy.
Update after a year?
@BigViewership so much better and totally worth it. But had every complication imaginable. Couldn't taste sweets for almost 6 months because a nerve was pinched during the surgery. But sleeping better and totally healed now:)
Even a little non-constant bleeding? Like I've been spitting up blood here and there and then it stops.. I'm on day 4 for reference@@dr.shellenberger9830
do you need someone with you during the whole recovery period to take care of you or can you be by yourself?
You shouldnt be alone in my opinion, especially in the first days.

I have had frequent sore throats would that be a sign of getting my tonsils removed. 🤔
Me too, I have been getting sore throat & pain in swallowing every 7 days for the last six months. What did you do? Do you still get sore throats?
Is there any natural way to shrink tonsils? I just don’t understand why it has to be so invasive why there isn’t a medication that will target tonsil swelling
Well me personally I’m not into herbal or homeopathic stuff at all, but supposedly there may be some treatments if you go that route.
You didn't mention bad breath. With bad breath from tonsil stones, just get them out
Yeah, no, didn't work. I was trying to get them out every day, sometimes unsuccessfuly and puked very often. Got my tonsils removed.

I can swallow quite easily now but I can't talk or chew at all.. Doctors said it is normal but I find it absolutely annoying and have no clue of how long it will take to heal.
they accidentally cauterized some of your tongue ?
@@wowowo2887 they told me that probably, when they kept my mouth open, some of my tongue which they couldn't see was pressed by teeth. In about two to three weeks it was gone, but it was more painful than the throat itself. Quite a mess

Tongue pain is normal everyone's experience is different but some do experience tongue pain back sides and sometimes the front
My fear is doctors have be really conservative with administering pain medicines so I’m worried I won’t be given strong enough drugs post surgery. Tylenol won’t cut it

Can you share that truth?
I can give you mine anytime!! Please Take them !! 😅
Tonsils are in our body for a purpose. The idea that we allow them to remove them is insane.
Well when they’re doing more harm then good it only makes sense. They’re meant to protect against illnesses and sickness, but if they’re literally causing you to be that way then it’s a pretty simple choice.
@@Calibyruben Most of the population has had their tonsils or adenoids taken out. I guess God had no idea what he was doing? It's preposterous! These organs were meant to keep us healthy. This could be one of the reasons so many people are sick.
We all have gallbladders for a reason as well, but in some cases keeping them in can kill. God didn't create us incorrectly, sin causes the body and the world to operate against His will for us. And we sin of our own will. That is why repenting of your sin (the same way me and the rest of the would should as well) and placing your faith in Christ is so important. Stepping into relationship with God is the most important thing we can do in this life.
Don’t get them removed unless if you absolutely have too! Most of the time they just wanna make a buck off of you.
