"He knows how to land... except when he does victory rolls with his seat strap undone and falls out of his aircraft! He's lucky the Generalstab approved parachutes before he started flying."
So flyboy... after an entire Campaign you eventually master the art of landing?!! Good news, not only for you but also for us, the long-suffering Graoundcrew. Scnapps all round and they're all on you!!
I must say I've really enjoyed this series. Great way how you're narrating during the intro, top quality commenting and decent footage. 10/10. Can't wait how the Akula and Last Chance campaigns will go. :D
1:49 It has grown on you during the last weeks? Serious understatement right there! This is some seriously good flying on your part. Hope to see more WW1/WW2 flying from you in the future as your vids are most enjoyable. All of them!
Really good flying. The one strat I might recommend is to develop a mentality of 'climbing by default.' You finish someone off, check your six quick, and the next instinct should be to start climbing, >then< looking around at the broader battle. Always be climbing. Altitude is energy and energy is life. Try hard to be attacking from above. Climbing up directly underneath the enemy is usually a bad move too, but the AI is pretty bad so you keep getting away with it. Climb parallel till you are above. Good hunting!
@Wolfpack345, this has been such a fun series to watch, especially because I am doing Kaiserschlacht at the moment myself, and I recognise so much :D Like you, I was a bit apprehensive of the Dr. 1, but by doing the campaign, I really started to appreciate it or, as you say it, it grew on me. I found that if you can manage to control the rudder so that you can nudge the reticle to the right or the left while avoiding pilot induced oscillation, you can place your shots very precisely, though mainly because the AI is kind enough to turn fight with you :D It feels like cheating, but adapting your rudder response curve so that larger rudder movements in the middle IRL corresponds to small rudder movements in game turns you into a very precise killer. Looking forward to your next career in the Spring offensive, which I haven't started yet either. Another rotary engine. I am naive enough to think that having had the experience with the Dr. 1 can only help, which would be welcome as I am somewhat apprehensive of the Camel as well. A mini campaign with an inline engine would have been nice as well, though less exotic as I have mostly flown inline engine planes so far. I think I will try other careers in a similar fashion with PWCG to get to know other planes I haven't flown a lot. Is that something you would consider?
I am pretty much in the same boat as you. I mostly fly aircraft with inline engines. This mini campaign has really forced me to get out of my comfort zone and try out these crates with rotery engines. Overall it's really fun to mess around with aircraft I have barely touched in my time with Rise of Flight.
@@Wolfpack345 > This mini campaign has really forced me to get out of my comfort zone and try out these crates [...] Yes, that it was a nice surprise that it was such a pleasing experience. The constraint of not having the choice makes that you have to explore how to make do the best with what you have, that's why I will sincerely consider simulating the same with PWCG, hoping that the story will write itself this time. Also, in a career it makes sense that you will take survival in (more) serious consideration vs. online, as real pilots would.
Flying Circus in VR is amazing! I've been playing it with my Quest 2 and a program called "NeckSaver" so I can check six with my limited POV. Having that 3D element really makes this game immersive. Slap a box fan on the desk in front of you and it is like your there! lol
I really enjoyed this series. I never thought this funky looking tri-wing would perform so well. Nice shooting, too! ( he said, three years after the video was uploaded and will never be seen by Wolfpack) 🤔
Excellent series! I learned the Dr.I in RoF the same way you just did. For some reason it wasn’t clicking in multiplayer so I started a career campaign with it and boom it all fell into place! Now let’s see if that top shelf gunnery of yours transfers into multiplayer!
You described that the DR1 was a challenge to fly and you figured it out. Exactly what is challenging and what are some tips to flying it successfully, in your opinion? Did you use your rudder more than with other aircraft? How about engine management? Throttle and blip I get but how did you use them effectively? In a dive it looked like you cut back throttle and blipped the engine until you needed the power to climb or resume air speed.
The torque of the roatery Engine takes some getting used to. Combined with the fact that the engine really likes to over rev. Managing the blip switch and rudder to counter the tourqe was a learning experience for me. I mostly fly Boom and Zoom Fighters and the Dr.1 is a turn fighter so that was something else.
I was thinking about Manfred von Richthofen because of this series, and I wonder how he would feel about the fact that 100 years later he is remembered by a cheap American line of frozen Pizza.
So you have shot down a single air balloon and 31 aircraft....that indeed would make you an outstanding experten of the German imperial airforce...... congratulations
I like the high resolution footage, but is it possible not to have that jerky in cockpit switching of view angles? I guess they are generated with key strokes, what about using the mouse or mouse pad?
@@Wolfpack345 I do www 152 russian biplanes me +3 against 16 gloster gladiators, I have cannons and rockets against machine guns. My russian planes have retractable undercarriage and are more agile. The gladiators have much stronger engines, higher climb rate and can take alot of punishment. My favourite battle plan is the initial contact, try to knock out 3, then destroy airfield assets, whilst another assault tries to prevent me. The last stage is to finish of the remaining gladiators as they come into land.. I need the 3 friendlies to occupy their quota of gladiators, they don't usually last very long. But it's so much fun.
I gave up trying to upgrade my graphics card and memory, and bought a new PC instead. One made for gaming. What didn't help any was the fact that my last PC was made back when Windows 7 had already been out for a while. I did get the free upgrade to Windows 10, but still, it had become pretty obsolete.
Red Baron is like "I am glad the campaign is over at his pace my 80 kills would be done in like a month.. Plus now he knows how to land" :)
There is a new Ace in town!!

that was so cool thank's man !! can't wait for your next season with the English:):)
Thanks James! I'm excited to take to the skies in the camel!
Any landing you walk away from is a good one. If you can use the machine again, it was a great one. Congratulations, Wolf!
Thanks!!:)

LOVING your marksmanship
Thanks!
17:12 you ARE kicking ass Wolfpack
Definitely one of my better moments.
Your live streams and campaign videos convinced me to get the sim. Thankfully it is on sale!
Happy flying!
Wolfpack the pilot sniper! That was AWESOME!! 😎👍
The sopwith dolphin was unmatched in its diving ability
Excellent sortie. The Red Baron's secret was to come in on their blind spot, get in close and shoot accurately.
I'm pretty shure you decked the commander in the forehead with that flare shot.
Cheers Wolfpack, this series was great
He probably deserved it.
Kind of sad to see it end, but next will also be enjoyable too. You are doing so great.
Yeah this series really grew on me as well it was bitter sweet.
A successful flight, a successful landing, and a successful campaign. Well done!
A fantastic way to end the series I think!
Good job, your gunnery has improved !
Thanks! I think it certainly has as well.
Enjoyed that series, good videos Sir! Well done.
Thank you!

Loved the series, the Dr.1 is probably my favourite warbird. Oh, just FYI, video title says episode 5.
Thanks I fixed it. The Dr.1 has definitely grown on me.
Great series looking forward to seeing how you get on against the Hun and their DR1.
I am looking forward to it too!

Thanks for watching!

Looking forward to the Camel.
It should be a blast!
Epic last flight, Grats 👏👏☺
Thanks!
Saved your best gunnery for the last episode I see.... :)
Yes of course!
what is a blip switch and what was th function of it? i notice you use it occasionally is it like a gov to stop the egine from over speeding?
8 kills should get you a Blue Max for sure...
8 won't, but 32 will.
Very good.
Thanks!
Good campaign !!
Thank you!
Does anyone ever get hit by the incoming indirect artillery barrages along the trench lines ? Love to see the Pfalz D-III A in action too.
Sorry it ended loved all the episoodes.
Glad to hear it!
Good finale.
Thank you!
Rudder pedals and joystick what type do you use? so can we find out what a good set up is? ty
Even if the pilot survives the crash he would not survive no man’s land

I will definitely be doing more!

This series made me buy the game, it's your fault.

So, the campaign is basically 6 missions?
GG ... but a tad unrealistic. No enemy fighter would fly straight and level for you to gun them down.
