  • This is the 12th workshop of the #R4Bioinfo series that we've launched in September 2020. This series of workshops aims to cover various subjects related to the #bioinformatics field.
This meetup was held on Saturday, May 8, 2021
We have been hosting Dr. Nickolay Oskolkov who animated a training session about Omics Integration and Supervised Machine Learning. This was the first part.
We will organize the second part of this training session soon.
    ▶️ About Dr. Nickolay Oskolkov:
Dr. Nikolay Oskolkov is an analyst doing bioinformatics, data science and statistical analysis. He has a background in theoretical physics, PhD 2007, and he moved to Life Sciences in 2012 where he was working in Computational Biology and Biomedicine. He is currently employed as a bioinformatician within the SciLifeLab bioinformatics platform NBIS. His range of interest includes genomics, transcriptomics, microbiome, ancient DNA, single cell, machine learning, image analysis and evolutionary science.
    Moderator:

    ▶️ About the workshop:
This workshop will divided in two parts. During these two parts you'll learn about:
    - Peculiarities of OMICs Integration
    - Definition and evaluation of OMICs Integration
    - Protocol of OMICs Integration
    - #OMICs Integration in Single Cell
    - Selection of the Method of Integration
    - #MachineLearning view of Omics integration
    - Feature Selection and Supervised Omics integration
    - Live demo : Practical example of #FeatureSelection and Supervised OMICs Integration
By the end of this training session, you will be able to integrate Omics datasets and apply feature selection and supervised machine learning to it.
