By force nature sprite to make a decision is the first prove to the anthropocene movement. Belonging is the sense that bond between the sprite and her environment, after forced to do something new like made an unknown form of a decision. She quickly regrets the result. The resistance made by the sprite to protect her place of belonging, while the man of anthropocene continue to steal a resource from nature as nature is an environment that does not belong to anybody and/or not registered in anybody account. Moreover, in the beginning, the man arrives in spacecraft this is a quick establish into the story as the man is alienating to this environment which there no law or boundary to control or limiting him. The realisation is forced to the man making him realise the truth the damage he causes, the animation portrays him as open his arms to cover up the damage but the damage- crater was already beyond cover-up. The next part is the part where most people get the wrong idea or misunderstanding. The story doesn't try to show the sprite destroy her belonging in one shot. Much of the damage has been done, force the sprite to erase the damage by setting a new start, as some could say "restart the game", to which allow both man and she-sprite to befriend and accepting each other for this new start. And after the last, that last robot is just a comical.
I love the 'word play' of the title in relation to the video. Before playing the animation, I wasn't sure if the title was the word denoting ownership or if it meant digging for ores. But it turns out that it uses both meanings of the word. The title and the animation made me think of humans mining for metals, stones, and stuff. When we mine, we also take ownership of the materials mined, but is it ever really ours or do we just steal it from the earth? I know we need the materials we get from mining to make stuff like smartphones and computers, but do we really need to keep on mining? Can't we do something like in Japan where they recycle metal from discarded electronics so they can be a self-sufficient country? Can't we stop mining materials for non-essential things like jewelry? Anyway, overall, this was just a beautiful, well thought animation. Amazing job from the people who made this!
Nope since 1 would the caterpillar steal from the tree ? would the lion steal from a zebra ? Second, it costs more to recycle electronic waste including solar panels, since they are made from various components and materials. Third, due to how these electronic equipment are, the result after recycle process would never be the original materials, they are something lesser.

The result from a recycling process is always something lesser than the original. It cost more materials, and more energy, to get something lesser. It is cheaper and more environmentally friendly to plant new trees to make paper and furniture than to recycle old ones. Recycling and green energy are a child's fantasy of cheap endless supply, but that is not how reality work.
Well it's like...you don't barge into someone's home and start rearranging their furniture and stealing their stuff without expecting them to get pissed off. But fancy space plant magic is not how you got to that planet in the first place, that was science. Glowing cube fueled science. So the moral of the story is that a little bit of respect goes a long way to getting you what you want. Whether that's mysterious glowing cubes or just not getting blown up.
I felt like this was about colonization. The human arrives, gets the native to agree to something she doesn't understand then starts taking over. This provokes a fight, leaving behind almost total destruction, but in the end the man finally realizes the beauty of the land he was destroying. He decides he wants to work with the native rather than just taking over, but he still doesn't have everything figured out and will probably continue making mistakes (like leaving the drones on...)
